Judd Zulgad, of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, reports Minnesota Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson, who will be a restricted free-agent of no new collective bargaining agreement is reached, said on his blog that he will take a wait-and-see approach in regards to his impending free agency. "Depending on the collective bargaining agreement I'll either be restricted or unrestricted, just waiting to see. Right now I still feel like a Viking, but I'm just going to have to wait a while to find out what's going to happen," Jackson wrote on his blog.

"We just need to continue to get him and Tony working together through the off-season again. They need another season under their belt," Garrett said. "There will be a comfort level that each will have with each other. Hopefully, he'll continue to be productive. He's been a good football player, and I know he thinks, and we think, that he can be better and better as we go forward."

Updating a previous item, Ed Bouchette, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, speculates the Pittsburgh Steelers will not re-sign impending free-agent CB Deshea Townsend before the free-agent market opens March 5. However, there is some interest in re-signing Townsend if he does not get a strong offer from another team.

CB | Charles Tillman | Chicago Bears | Injury News
Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Tribune, reports Chicago Bears CB Charles Tillman (ribs) is unlikely to need surgery this offseason, but it will be a while until he is healed up. Tillman suffered four fractured ribs and a bruised lung Week 16, and the lung injury forced him to miss the Pro Bowl. He figures to be fully cleared in another three weeks or so.
