Updating previous reports, Bernie Miklasz, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams general manager Billy Devaney said the rumors about the Rams making an offer for Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb are absolutely false and ridiculous. Devany told the Post-Dispatch's Jim Thomas that he has not talked to the Eagles about any of their players.

Mike Sando, of ESPN.com, reports Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said he believes University of Florida QB Tim Tebow should be a first-round draft choice.

D. Orlando Ledbetter, of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith will monitor RB Michael Turner's carries next season. Smith said, "I think he'll be bigger, faster and stronger this year. It's important for us to do a good job of monitoring his carries for the game. We have to make sure we don't overwork Michael throughout the season. We designed our game plan to get others involved."

RB | Clinton Portis | Washington Redskins | Fantasy
Jason Reid, of The Washington Post, reports Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan expects RB Clinton Portis to be in top shape for the 2010 season. Shanahan said, "He was 205 or 210 pounds and averaged (nearly) six yards a carry for two years (with the Denver Broncos). That's what I expect him to be - in great shape and doing the things he's always done with me. He knows he's got to be lighter, sure. I think we'll know as time goes on (what Portis's playing weight should be). ... I haven't talked to him about it, but I would say that he'll probably be shooting at 210, 212, 214 range. I think Clinton knows what's best for him and his body, what type of offense we run with the zone blocking scheme that gives him the best chance to be successful."

John Niyo, of The Detroit News, reports the Detroit Lions have expressed an interest in New Orleans Saints restricted free-agent DL Anthony Hargrove, but the Saints may look to match if Hargrove receives a contract offer. Saints head coach Sean Payton said, "I wouldn't comment on what we might do if he is signed. I think we would look closely at it. It would be hard for me to comment on what Detroit might do." Payton added, "We want the player back." The Saints would receive a third-round draft pick in the 2010 NFL Draft if Hargrove is signed to an offer sheet and they refuse to match the offer.

Cornerback

Rob Demovsky, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said there is no guarantee CB Al Harris (knee) will be ready for the start of the 2010 season. McCarthy compared Harris' timetable to OT Mark Tauscher, who had a similar injury in December 2008 and did not return until November 2009. Harris may start the season on the physically unable to perform list.

Bob Glauber, of Newsday, reports New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said FS Kenny Phillips (knee) is still limited by his knee injury. Coughlin is hopeful that Phillips will be ready for the start of the season but said the team has to be prepared if he is not.
