Free-agent QB Josh McCown (Panthers) would relish an opportunity to join the Chicago Bears and isn't looking to take snaps away from QB Jay Cutler, reports ESPNChicago.com's Jeff Dickerson and Michael Wright. McCown said, "I understand right now there's not anybody beating down my door to be a starter. So understanding that, where do you go to be in a great situation where you are a backup? For me, in (offensive coordinator) Mike Martz's offense and where I'm at in my career, I feel comfortable with (coming to Chicago). The fact that Jay (Cutler) is there doesn't affect me at all, and probably gets me more excited because you get to work with a guy that talented, and hopefully help the coaches get the best out of him."

Chicago Bears TE Greg Olsen is going to have to block if he is going to remain a factor in the offense, reports Bob LeGere, of the Daily Herald. Offensive coordinator Mike Martz said Olsen has proven he can block in the past, and the team is going to have to get him involved in it. "It's easy for him to get into the passing game. He's certainly capable of putting his hand on the ground and throwing a good block," Martz said. He also added there are some things the team will do with Olsen that they haven't been able to in the past. "Good players at any position, you find a way to get them the ball. You take advantage of their strength," Martz noted.
