Running Back

RB | LaDainian Tomlinson | New York Jets | Fantasy
New York Jets RB LaDainian Tomlinson's role in the offense will be situational, and running backs coach Anthony Lynn compared it to how New York used RB Leon Washington last year, reports ESPNNewYork.com's Rich Cimini. Lynn said he sees himself as having two starters in Tomlinson and RB Shonn Greene. "It depends on the flow of the game," said Lynn. "If we're better off in our big personnel, Shonn will get more touches. If we go little, like we did last year with Leon (Washington) in our nickel package, L.T. will get more touches. It's all situational."

Defensive Line

DL | Evander Hood | Pittsburgh Steelers | Fantasy
Pittsburgh Steelers DL Evander Hood is expected to see more playing time this year, according to assistant head coach John Mitchell, because he has a better understanding of the defense and his mechanics should allow him to stay on the field longer, reports the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's John Harris. "I'm really excited about Ziggy. The transition he's made from his first year to his second year has been tremendous," Mitchell said. "He's using his hands better. Last year, Ziggy let people into his body. Right now, he's playing with better pad level, he's using his hands better and he's staying on his feet." The projected increase in playing time likely will allow DLs Casey Hampton, Aaron Smith and Brett Keisel to remain fresher in the fourth quarter.

DL | B.J. Raji | Green Bay Packers | Fantasy
Green Bay Packers DT B.J. Raji is feeling more comfortable in the team's 3-4 defense this offseason after Green Bay has had Raji focus mainly on the starting nose tackle position, reports the Green Bay Press Gazette's Kareem Copeland. Getting over an ankle injury that sidelined him at times last year has helped, too. "The comfort level is a lot better and that's something that came over time," Raji said. "That particular ankle injury I didn't know it was as severe as it was at the time. ... This year, I'm more of a focal point as far as the starting lineup is concerned. I'm worried about that right now." Head coach Mike McCarthy has also been impressed by Raji's commitment to the weight room during the offseason.

DL | Travis LaBoy | San Francisco 49ers | Injury
San Francisco 49ers LB Travis LaBoy (foot) did not participate in practice Friday, June 18, because he is coming back from a foot injury that made him miss the entire 2009 season, reports Matt Maiocco, of CSNBayArea.com.
