Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre's reworked contract with the team has yet to become official in the NFL or NFLPA contract system, but league sources expect it to occur soon, reports Jason La Canfora, of NFL Network. According to sources, Favre will earn up to $3 million in a new signing bonus. He will earn another $4 million in new incentives based largely on the Vikings' postseason performance this season. With that in mind, Favre could cap his final NFL campaign by pocketing up to $28 million. When Favre signed with the team before last season, $8 million of his $12 million salary in 2009 was deferred to the 2010 league year. Within that window, the Vikings could end up paying Favre the full $28 million should they win a Super Bowl, and at least $24 million regardless. If Favre had retired, he would have still received the $8 million in deferred 2009 salary payments.

I just need to go out there and play the way I know how to play," Slaton said. He noted he cannot think about not fumbling, but he has to think about hanging onto the football. Slaton is confident the fumbling problem will not continue. Head coach Gary Kubiak said the team is trying to stay positive with Slaton, as he had a great offseason and training camp. Slaton is currently listed as the team's No. 2 back behind Arian Foster.
