Quarterback

QB | Brett Favre | Minnesota Vikings | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre (ankle) is dealing with an avulsion fracture in his heel bone, which is an injury in a place where a tendon or ligament pulls off a piece of the bone, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Judd Zulgad. "Once he's functional, he can play," head coach Brad Childress said. "As you know he's had ankle and heel problems for a long time so that walking boot makes him a little bit more comfortable and I wouldn't rule anything out in terms of the end of the week. Don't really have a time-frame work on it." Favre will not need surgery.

QB | Alex D. Smith | San Francisco 49ers | Injury
Updating previous items, San Francisco 49ers QB Alex D. Smith (shoulder) had his injured left shoulder checked out Monday, Oct. 25, at a hospital in London, England, and is still waiting to hear if the injury will keep him from playing against the Denver Broncos in Week 8 at Wembley Stadium, according to The Associated Press. Smith still had his arm in a sling Monday, Oct. 25. After arriving at the team's hotel from the hospital, Smith said, "It's all right. Could be better."

QB | Max Hall | Arizona Cardinals | Injury
Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said QB Max Hall (head) will remain the team's starting quarterback as long as he is healthy, according to Darren Urban, of AZCardinals.com.


Running Back

RB | Steven Jackson | St. Louis Rams | Injury, Breaking, Fantasy
St. Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo said RB Steven Jackson (finger) is considered day-to-day after undergoing surgery Monday, Oct. 25, on a fractured left ring finger, reports StLouisRams.com. The extent of the surgery is not known, but Jackson was able to play with the injury in week 7.

RB | Clinton Portis | Washington Redskins | Injury, Fantasy
Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said RB Clinton Portis (groin) will not be able to play in Week 8, according to The Washington Post. Shanahan said the team hopes to have Portis ready to play after their Week 9 bye.

RB | Reggie Bush | New Orleans Saints | Injury, Fantasy
New Orleans Saints RB Reggie Bush (fibula) said he has been cleared to play and hopes to be ready for the team's Week 8 game, reports James Varney, of The New Orleans Times-Picayune. Bush said he is close to 100 percent but has not tested his leg in live situations at this point.

San Francisco 49ers RB Anthony Dixon (hamstring) may not be available for Week 8 because he suffered a hamstring strain in the team's Week 7 game, reports Matt Maiocco, of CSNBayArea.com.

RB | DeAngelo Williams | Carolina Panthers | Injury, Fantasy
Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (foot) left Week 7 late in the fourth quarter with a foot injury; however, the injury is not believed to be serious, according to a team official, reports Steve Reed, of the Gaston Gazette.

Seattle Seahawks RB Michael Robinson (knee) suffered a knee injury in Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals, reports Seahawks.com.

New England Patriots WR Matt Slater (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in the team's Week 7 game and his return to the game is questionable, reports Patriots.com.

Place Kicker

San Diego Chargers PK Nate Kaeding (groin) said his groin injury is concerning and hopes to be able to return as soon as possible, reports Kevin Acee, of the San Diego Union-Tribune. Indications are that Kaeding likely will miss the team's Week 8 game but nothing is official.


Offensive Tackle

OT | Russell Okung | Seattle Seahawks | Injury
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said OT Russell Okung's (ankle) ankle injury is not as severe as the one he suffered during training camp that made him miss the first three games of the season, reports Danny O'Neil, of The Seattle Times. Carroll did say Okung's current injury is the same type of injury he suffered during camp.

OT | Eben Britton | Jacksonville Jaguars | Injury
Jacksonville Jaguars OT Eben Britton (shoulder) will likely miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury suffered in Week 7, according to Tania Ganguli, of The Florida Times-Union. Britton will have an MRI Monday, Oct. 25, to determine the exact nature of his injury. If it's a torn labrum, he'll need surgery on it. He got X-Rays after the game and wore a sling.

OT | Winston Justice | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said OTs Winston Justice (knee) and OT King Dunlap (knee) suffered hyperextended knees during the team's Week 7 game against the Tennessee Titans, reports Jeff McLane, of the Philadelphia Inquirer.


Defensive Line

DL | Darell Scott | St. Louis Rams | Injury
St. Louis Rams CB Bradley Fletcher (hamstring) and DL Darell Scott (ankle) were both injured in the team's Week 7 game, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Jim Thomas. Scott was forced to leave the game.

DL | Mike Neal | Green Bay Packers | Injury
Green Bay Packers LB Brady Poppinga (knee) and DE Mike Neal (shoulder) will need season-ending surgeries to repair injuries, reports Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Poppinga had his knee scoped lat week but it was determined he needs more work. Neal will need surgery on his shoulder after rehab did not work.

DL | Cullen Jenkins | Green Bay Packers | Injury
Green Bay Packers DL Cullen Jenkins (calf) suffered a calf injury prior to the start of Week 7, according to CBSSports.com. Head coach Mike McCarthy said Jenkins' status for Week 8 is uncertain.

DL | Ryan Pickett | Green Bay Packers | Injury
Green Bay Packers DL Ryan Pickett (ankle) left the team's Week 7 game after hurting his ankle, according to The Associated Press.

DL | Aaron Smith | Pittsburgh Steelers | Injury
Updating previous reports, Pittsburgh Steelers DE Aaron Smith (triceps) could miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn triceps in Week 7, reports Ed Bouchette, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

DL | Kelly Gregg | Baltimore Ravens | Injury
Baltimore Ravens DT Kelly Gregg (thigh) suffered a bruised thigh in the team's Week 7 game against the Buffalo Bills but his return was probable, reports CBSSports.com.


Linebacker

LB | Calvin Pace | New York Jets | Injury
New York Jets LB Calvin Pace (foot) said his foot may not be 100 percent at any point this season but feels good enough to be able to play, reports Manish Mehta, of the New York Daily News.

Detroit Lions LB DeAndre Levy (ankle) should return in Week 8, reports The Detroit News' Tim Twentyman. Levy was doing work on the side during practice last week.


Cornerback

St. Louis Rams CB Kevin Dockery (ribs) and CB Ron Bartell (undisclosed) both briefly left the team's Week 7 game after suffering injuries but were able to return to the game, reports Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Dockery injured his ribs during the game while Bartell suffered a stinger.

CB | Dunta Robinson | Atlanta Falcons | Injury,
Atlanta Falcons CB Dunta Robinson (concussion, knee) was medically cleared from his concussion but was declared inactive for Week 7 because of a knee injury, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter, of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "I wouldn't have been any good to this team with my injured knee," Robinson said. "My head is fine. They cleared me to play. No nausea, no vomiting, nothing like that. It was just one of those situations where I was a little foggy."

CB | Perrish Cox | Denver Broncos | Injury
Denver Broncos CB Perrish Cox (head) suffered a head injury in the team's Week 7 game against the Oakland Raiders and his return to the game is questionable, reports DenverBroncos.com.

Atlanta Falcons FS Thomas DeCoud (head) suffered a head injury in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to The Associated Press.
