Quarterback

Denver Broncos head coach John Fox said QB Kyle Orton will enter training camp as the team's starting quarterback but will compete with QBs Tim Tebow and Brady Quinn for the job, reports Jason La Canfora, of NFL Network.

QB | Cam Newton | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said the team has not ruled out taking Auburn QB Cam Newton with the first overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, reports D. Orlando Ledbetter, of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

QB | Ryan Fitzpatrick | Buffalo Bills | Draft
Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey said during the NFL Scouting Combine Thursday, Feb. 24, that the team is considering all options regarding taking a quarterback with the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft, according to Frank Tadych, of NFL.com. However, Gailey reiterated that he's extremely confident in QB Ryan Fitzpatrick.

QB | Colt McCoy | Cleveland Browns | Draft
Cleveland Browns president Mike Holmgren said Wednesday, Feb. 23, he is likely to select a quarterback prospect at some point in the 2011 NFL Draft, according to Tony Grossi, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "Oh, yeah, we will draft a quarterback. You can almost count on it," Holmgren said. However, Holmgren added he is not planning on displacing QB Colt McCoy as the starter. "I believe in the young guy we have," Holmgren said. "I'm pretty sure we'll take one later in the draft."

Running Back

RB | DeAngelo Williams | Carolina Panthers | Free Agents, Fantasy
The Carolina Panthers will put a restricted free-agent tender on impending free-agent RB DeAngelo Williams, sources told Darin Gantt, of the Rock Hill Herald. Under the old collective bargaining agreement, Williams would be considered an unrestricted free agent but is considered a restricted free agent under the current rules.

RB | C.J. Spiller | Buffalo Bills | Draft, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey said during the NFL Scouting Combine Thursday, Feb. 24, that he will do a better job of incorporating RB C.J. Spiller in the offense in 2011, according to Aaron Wilson, of NationalFootballPost.com. Gailey said Spiller's rookie campaign did not go according to plan. "It didn't work out like everybody planned," Gailey said. "He planned. I planned. Any fan out there planned. It didn't work out like any of us planned. I still think he's going to be a very good to great player for the Buffalo Bills. There's no question in my mind about that. I think I'll do a better job this year of creating ways to move him more. When you're establishing what you're trying to get done offensively, you have a hard time deviating too much to do things for one guy to create things for one guy. We were in the process of evaluating everybody and trying to create things for everybody. It was a getting-to-know-you year."

RB | James Starks | Green Bay Packers | Fantasy
Some in the Green Bay Packers organization view RB James Starks as a poor man's (Minnesota Vikings RB) Adrian Peterson, according to Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Starks is big enough to run through people and fast enough to take it all the way. Unless general manager Ted Thompson decides to draft a running back, it appears Starks and RB Ryan Grant (knee) will battle for the starting job in 2011.

RB | Arian Foster | Houston Texans | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (knee) said Wednesday, Feb. 23, that he injured his knee in the team's first preseason game and played through the injury, not in the Pro Bowl, according to his official Twitter account. Foster had minor arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, and he was reportedly walking already.

RB | Willis McGahee | Baltimore Ravens | Free Agents, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens RB Jalen Parmele is expected to see a much larger role in 2011 if the team releases RB Willis McGahee as expected, according to NFL Network's Jason La Canfora. "They'll have someone like Parmele get carries," La Canfora said. "The Ravens could draft a running back or make a play for a free agent as well, but they like Parmele. I can tell you that."

RB | Jalen Parmele | Baltimore Ravens | Free Agents, Fantasy

WR | Austin Collie | Indianapolis Colts | Injury
The prognosis for Indianapolis Colts WR Austin Collie (concussion) appears to be good, according to CBSSports.com. Collie missed most of the last half of the 2010 season with concussion issues. WR | Terence Jeffers-Harris | CFL | Draft
Canadian Football League WR Terence Jeffers-Harris will be eligible for the 2011 NFL Draft, according to his agent, Gil Scott, reports Adam Caplan, of FOXSports.com. Jeffers-Harris will be able to work out for NFL teams prior to the draft, but his agent also said the wide receiver might need to get permission to do so from his CFL team, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. If Jeffers-Harris gets selected in the NFL Draft, it's possible that a team could buy out his contract with Winnipeg.

WR | Ricardo Lockette | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Fort Valley State WR Ricardo Lockette said he expects to run the 40-yard dash in at least 4.3 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine, reports Bo Marchionte, of NFLDraftBible.com. He could see his draft stock improve greatly if he performs well in the drills at the combine because he is a gifted athlete. Lockette is believed to be around 6-foot-2 3/4 and close to 212 pounds.

Tight End

TE | Jeremy Shockey | Free Agent | Free Agents
Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland said the team has not spoken with free-agent TE Jeremy Shockey (Saints) at this point.

TE | Kellen Winslow | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Free Agents
If the NFL's free-agent market opens up, it would not be a surprise if the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pursue a tight end to back up TE Kellen Winslow, who has undergone six knee operations, according to CBSSports.com.

TE | Marcedes Lewis | Jacksonville Jaguars | Transaction, Fantasy
Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Gene Smith said Wednesday, Feb. 23, that the team wants to sign TE Marcedes Lewis to a long-term deal, reports Tania Ganguli, of The Florida Times-Union. LB | Quincy Black | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Free Agents
The Houston Texans may show interest in Tampa Bay Buccaneers free-agent LB Quincy Black this offseason, according to Charlie Campbell, of PewterReport.com.

LB | Sergio Kindle | Baltimore Ravens | Injury
Baltimore Ravens LB Sergio Kindle (head) said he hopes to be cleared for contact within the next couple of weeks, reports Jamison Hensley, of The Baltimore Sun. Kindle said he has been working out four times a week and has been able to run and left weights.

LB | Ray Lewis | Baltimore Ravens | Draft

CB | Ike Taylor | Pittsburgh Steelers | Free Agents
The Pittsburgh Steelers will not use the transition tag on impending free-agent CB Ike Taylor, according to Jason La Canfora, of NFL Network. The team will not use the transition tag at all. The Steelers hope to be competitive to retain Taylor in a new collective bargaining agreement.

CB | Nnamdi Asomugha | Oakland Raiders | Free Agents
The Green Bay Packers are not expected to go after Oakland Raiders impending free-agent CB Nnamdi Asomugha this offseason because they likely will not pay big money for a cornerback since they are in good shape at that position, reports Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The Packers also likely will not go after Asomugha because they will have several key players becoming free agents after next season that will receive raises.
