Detroit Lions QB Drew Stanton is likely to serve as the No. 3 quarterback if he remains with the team. He is expected to become an unrestricted free agent once the lockout is resolved.

QB | Eric Crouch | UFL | Transaction, Free Agents
Free-agent QB Eric Crouch (CFL) signed with the UFL's Omaha Nighthawks Tuesday, July 12. The former Heisman Trophy winner at Nebraska is expected to compete with QBs D.J. QB | Colin Kaepernick | San Francisco 49ers | Injury, Fantasy
San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick (leg) said Tuesday, July 12, that he was cleared last week by his doctor for all football activities, including jumping and sprinting. Kaepernick underwent lower leg surgery in May.

Running Back

RB | Maurice Jones-Drew | Jacksonville Jaguars | Injury, Fantasy
Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter said Tuesday, July 12, that the team has not had any internal discussions on limiting the workload of RB Maurice Jones-Drew (knee) during the regular season.

RB | Fred Taylor | New England Patriots | Free Agents
New England Patriots RB Fred Taylor, an impending free agent, said Tuesday, July 12, that he is contemplating retirement. "I'm so back and forth, I'm straddling the fence, one foot in, one foot out," Taylor said about the possibility of retirement. "I do know that if I'm going to attack it, I have to attack it with 100 percent passion and heart and desire. I can't be straddling if I'm going to do it."

RB | Knowshon Moreno | Denver Broncos | Fantasy
Denver Broncos head coach John Fox said adding a running back is a top priority when free agency opens after the lockout. "We've got to run the ball more and better, and (another) running back is our No. 1 priority (in free agency)," Fox said. That's bad news for incumbent RB Knowshon Moreno.

Wide Receiver

WR | Plaxico Burress | Free Agent | Free Agents, Fantasy
The Chicago Bears do not plan to pursue free-agent WR Plaxico Burress (Giants). The team bases it off of extensive research they did on Burress prior to him going to prison.

WR | Santana Moss | Washington Redskins | Free Agents, Fantasy
Chicago Bears WR Devin Hester would like to see the Bears sign free-agent WR Santana Moss (Redskins). Hester feels Moss can really help the team in the upcoming season. Moss, who had a career-high 93 receptions for 1,115 yards and six touchdowns last season, is in the Bears' sights. The Bears made it clear during the offseason they would like to add a bigger receiver, but Moss - at 5-foot-10 - doesn't fit that bill.

WR | Bryant Johnson | Detroit Lions | Fantasy
Detroit Lions WRs Bryant Johnson and Derrick Williams are likely to be battling for the No. 4 receiver job once training camp opens.

Defensive Line

DL | Ray McDonald | San Francisco 49ers | Free Agents
San Francisco 49ers DL Ray McDonald, who is expected to become an unrestricted free agent under the expected terms of the new collective bargaining agreement, would like to continue his career in San Francisco. However, he would like to do it as a starter. "Before we left there was a good vibe amongst me and the coaching staff and GM," McDonald said. "They said they liked the way I played and want me back, so I'm just going off that. I want to be back here. I'm comfortable out here."

Linebacker

LB | Jordon Dizon | Detroit Lions | Injury
Detroit Lions LB Jordon Dizon (knee) doesn't appear to fit into the team's plans, and the odds are stacked against him heading into 2011. He blew out his knee in the first preseason game last season.

Cornerback

CB | Adam Jones | Cincinnati Bengals | Injury
Cincinnati Bengals CB Adam Jones (neck) is expected to be ready for the season barring any setbacks stemming from his neck surgery last year. He recently had a procedure within the last month to make sure that the bone graft from last year's surgery was healing properly. Doctors found no problems.
