QB | Dennis Dixon | Pittsburgh Steelers | Free Agents
Pittsburgh Steelers backup QB Dennis Dixon, a restricted free agent, has yet to sign his one-year tender offer and did not report to the team for the start of training camp. His agent, Jeff Sperbeck, said Dixon wants a chance with another team to compete for a starting job - something he won't get in Pittsburgh behind two-time Super Bowl winner Ben Roethlisberger. Sperbeck said Dixon would like to be traded, as a starting opportunity is what Dixon is seeking. Sperbeck did not rule out Dixon signing the tender and reporting to the team.

QB | T.J. Yates | Houston Texans | Transaction
The Houston Texans have signed rookie QB T.J. Yates, a fifth-round draft choice. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

QB | Sage Rosenfels | New York Giants | Depth Chart Tidbit
It appears the New York Giants will hang onto backup QB Sage Rosenfels, at least for now, with the addition of backup QB David Carr.

QB | Sam Bradford | St. Louis Rams | Fantasy
St. Louis Rams QB Sam Bradford said he feels like everyone is picking up the team's new offensive system, but noted the team still has a long way to go to be ready to play a game. Bradford said the offense isn't that difficult, but said it is complicated because there are a lot of different things and variations, so he has to be on his game. "It's not you cal one play and come up to the line of scrimmage and you run it. There's a lot of options within each play," Bradford said of offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels' system being installed. Entering his second season in the league, Bradford said he is a lot more comfortable and gaining a lot more confidence.

The Washington Redskins are expected to re-sign free-agent QB Rex Grossman soon.

RB | Mike Goodson | Carolina Panthers | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy

RB | Bernard Scott | Cincinnati Bengals | Injury, Fantasy
Cincinnati Bengals RB Bernard Scott (hamstring) had a tight hamstring and did not take part in practice Sunday, July 31. Head coach Marvin Lewis said Scott is going to miss some time. It is not clear if the Bengals are going to add another running back to the mix, as Lewis does not seem to be concerned about the durability issues surrounding Bernard. The coaching staff wants to get him more touches in 2011.

RB | Danny Woodhead | New England Patriots | Fantasy
New England Patriots RB Danny Woodhead appears to have gained about 10 pounds during the offseason. He has been given a lot of work with the offense during training camp because the Patriots are thin at the position while they await several players being able to practice.

RB | Stevan Ridley | New England Patriots | Fantasy
New England Patriots rookie RB Stevan Ridley is seeing a lot of reps during the early portion of training camp because many of the Patriots running backs are not able to practice yet due to league rules. He has taken reps with the first-string offense.

RB | Matt Forte | Chicago Bears | Fantasy
The Chicago Bears intend to sign RB Matt Forte to a contract extension, but general manager Jerry Angelo cautioned that may be easier said than done. "It's a negotiation, you got to find that common ground. That part of it will be a challenge," Angelo said. Forte reported to training camp on time because, according to him, the Bears told him he is a priority for them to re-sign. Forte is slated to make $550,000 in base salary this year, which is the final year of his current deal.

RB | LaDainian Tomlinson | New York Jets | Transaction, Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
New York Jets RB LaDainian Tomlinson took a pay cut down to around $1.1 million for 2011 to help the team create room under the salary cap. Tomlinson was slated to make $2.625 million this season. He is in the final year of his two-year deal with the team and is expected to handle the third-down role for the Jets this season.

RB | Shonn Greene | New York Jets | Fantasy

RB | Steven Jackson | St. Louis Rams | Fantasy
St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson said he is looking to improve on his pass blocking, running, catching and leadership this season. He said now that he is becoming one of the team's older players, it is a greater responsibility for him to set a good example for the younger players. Jackson feels offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels can help establish Jackson as a franchise, all-around running back. Jackson is looking forward to being used more in the passing game this year, as he wants to prove to the rest of the league that he is more than just a downhill runner. "That's definitely part of my game that I've been missing the last couple of seasons. I'm looking forward to having that challenge," Jackson said. After catching 90 passes in 2006, Jackson has had no more than 50 in any season since.

Fullback

FB | Le'Ron McClain | Free Agent | Free Agents, Depth Chart Tidbit
The Baltimore Ravens may not be interested in re-signing FB/RB Le'Ron McClain now that they have added FB Vonta Leach. The Ravens could use McClain to handle the big-back role that became open with the release of RB Willis McGahee, but that would be a secondary role and it is not clear if McClain would be interested in accepting it.

FB | Earnest Graham | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Free Agents, Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
Tampa Bay Buccaneers FB Earnest Graham is the front-runner to be the team's top backup to RB LeGarrette Blount this year. Graham could see less time at fullback as a result. Offensive coordinator Greg Olson said he has a lot of confidence in Graham and trusts him. He said if the season were to start today, Graham would be the team's third-down back. RB Kregg Lumpkin is also in the mix, and the team could always decide to re-sign free-agent RB Cadillac Williams. "I know Earnest can handle the third down role. We'll see if Kregg can do that, too," Olson said.

FB | Mike Tolbert | San Diego Chargers | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
The San Diego Chargers could use a combination of RBs Ryan Mathews, Mike Tolbert and Jacob Hester on third downs as they try to replace departed RB Darren Sproles. None of them have shown Sproles' acumen for running routes or pass protection, so the team is looking for someone to step up on third downs. Tolbert seems to have the best all-around skill set right now to be Sproles' replacement, but Mathews is still an unknown in that department. Mathews has spent a lot of time in training camp improving on his blitz pick up, which he feels is starting to show.

FB | John Kuhn | Green Bay Packers | Transaction, Free Agents
The Green Bay Packers have re-signed free-agent FB John Kuhn. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Miami Dolphins WR Brandon Marshall said earlier this year he was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. Marshall said he has been trying to get help for his problems since he entered the NFL and has spent $60,000 on treatment for the disorder, which has been known to stem from things such as a negative self image, fear of failure and unstable personal relationships. He plans to continue receiving weekly treatment and said he is in a position where he can live an effective, healthy life.

WR | Chad Ochocinco | New England Patriots | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy

Branch is excited to have Ochocinco as part of the team, and said it's nice to add another great player to the mix. He did caution, however, that Ochocinco needs to focus on learning things one day at a time and not try to learn too much too quickly. "It's a big difference when you're doing stuff fast and wrong," Branch said. "We're all out here still making mistakes. Nothing's perfect right now. We're all learning each and every day. Chad's not the only person that's learning, lets be honest."

WR | Jabar Gaffney | Washington Redskins | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
Washington Redskins WR Jabar Gaffney will probably get a shot at earning a starting job opposite of WR Santana Moss during training camp. Titans WR Nate Washington didn't sound in favor of such a move, saying the Titans have a lot of receivers already with a lot of potential. Many of the qualities Reinfeldt said he needed may be able to be found in veteran free-agent Derrick Mason (Ravens), although Reinfeldt never mentioned Mason by name.

WR | Jordy Nelson | Green Bay Packers | Injury, Fantasy
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (knee) said the bursa sac that ruptured in his left knee during the Super Bowl is no longer a problem. Nelson played at least the entire fourth quarter with the injury, but it blew up like a balloon after the game. He said by the end of March it was close to healthy. Nelson will not be imited during training camp practices.

Tight End

TE | Zach Miller | Free Agent | Free Agents
Barring a last-minute, jaw-dropping offer from another team, and a change of heart by free-agent TE Zach Miller (Raiders), he will re-sign with the Oakland Raiders, and likely in time to practice Thursday, Aug. 4, the day veterans who sign new contracts are allowed to practice for the first time.

TE | Ed Dickson | Baltimore Ravens | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy

TE | Greg Olsen | Carolina Panthers | Fantasy
Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen may not start regularly because the team also has TEs Jeremy Shockey and Ben Hartsock, but he figures to be a centerpiece in the team's offensive game plan. Panthers head coach Ron Rivera wants to use the team's tight ends like the San Diego Chargers use TE Antonio Gates, and offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski is in charge of making that happen this year.

TE | Jermichael Finley | Green Bay Packers | Injury, Fantasy

San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates (foot) has been placed on the team's active physically-unable-to-perform list. He cannot take part in practice until he is able to pass the team's physical. TE | Todd Heap | Arizona Cardinals | Depth Chart Tidbit
The addition of TE Todd Heap to the Arizona Cardinals gives the team one of the deepest groups of tight ends the team has had. Heap isn't known to be a great blocker, but that role will fall to newly added TE Jeff King. The team also has TEs Jim Dray, Stephen Spach and third-round draft select Rob Housler on roster. Heap, nicknamed "The Golden Retriever," is healthy and spent the offseason working out in Tempe with several Cardinals, including WR Larry Fitzgerald.
