Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (rib, lung) has a "very small" puncture in his lung, and head coach Jason Garrett said he hasn't ruled out Romo for Week 3 against the Washington Redskins. Romo said the pain was the same as it was after the game Monday, Sept. 19. He will receive extra treatment and be fitted with extra padding for his ribs.

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton (ankle) is wearing a walking boot on his right leg but expects to practice this week.

QB | Tom Brady | New England Patriots | Injury
New England Patriots QB Tom Brady said during a radio interview Monday, Sept. 19, that the knee brace he had on may have saved him from a devastating knee injury in Week 2. Brady was hit in the back of the leg by San Diego Chargers DL Antonio Garay. "I'm glad I had a knee brace on," Brady said. "That's scary when you've been through those before. It got me in a good spot, and I'm glad the knee brace took the brunt of the force. Why I never wore a knee brace before, I have no idea. Why everyone quarterback doesn't wear one on their left knee, I have no idea, to be able to withstand those."

QB | Tim Tebow | Denver Broncos | , Fantasy
Denver Broncos QB Tim Tebow was the team's fourth emergency wide receiver in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals when WR Brandon Lloyd (groin) was declared inactive moments before the game. Head coach John Fox said Tebow did not take any reps with the first-team offense this week. Tebow had asked for receiver reps with the scout team starting last week.

QB | Mike Kafka | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said after the Week 2 game Sunday, Sept. 18, that QB Michael Vick (concussion) suffered a concussion in the second half. It isn't automatic that Vick will miss the Week 3 game against the New York Giants, although he will need to be medically cleared. Reid would not speculate on a potential replacement, but he noted QB Vince Young (hamstring) is getting close after being inactive in the first two games. QB Mike Kafka replaced Vick Sunday.

QB | Luke McCown | Jacksonville Jaguars | Fantasy
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio was noncommittal after the Week 2 loss against the New York Jets about his plan for Week 3 concerning his starting quarterback. QB Luke McCown was benched after throwing four interceptions, as rookie QB Blaine Gabbert came on to finish up. "I'm gonna be ready. There's no question about that," Gabbert said.


Running Back

Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said RB Ben Tate has been playing well and indicated that Tate will receive most of the carries until RB Arian Foster (hamstring) is back to full strength.

The Kansas City Chiefs will be placing RB Jamaal Charles (knee) on Injured Reserve because of the knee injury he suffered in Week 2.

RB | Felix Jones | Dallas Cowboys | Injury, Fantasy
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he is unsure if RB Felix Jones (shoulder) will be able to play in the team's Week 3 game. Jones suffered a separated shoulder in Week 2. Jones wore a harness most of the game in an effort to help him.

RB | Chris Johnson | Tennessee Titans | Fantasy
Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson heard boos from the home fans in Week 2. Johnson has struggled this season after signing a contract extension. "It didn't really bother me," said Johnson, who ran for 53 yards on 24 carries. "Just the whole situation going through the offseason, there's things you've got to accept and you just got to play through. So you just have to work at it and get better and at the end of the day, you might have a couple of boos now, but when you make a play they are not booing." Through two games Johnson is averaging 2.3 yards per carry.

RB | DeMarco Murray | Dallas Cowboys | Fantasy
Dallas Cowboys RBs DeMarco Murray carried six times for 21 yards in Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers. RB Tashard Choice also had five carries for five yards, and two receptions for 24 yards. Choice and Murray might be called upon for more responsibilities if RB Felix Jones (shoulder) is forced to miss time due to a separated shoulder.

New England Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez (knee) will miss one to two weeks with a sprained medial collateral ligament, according to a source.

TE | Vernon Davis | San Francisco 49ers | Fantasy
San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis admitted to being taken aback by his team's conservative offensive philosophy and by being thrown into pass protection against Dallas Cowboys LB DeMarcus Ware in Week 2. "I didn't think I would be up against Ware like that," Davis said. Ware recorded two sacks, while Davis had just two receptions for 18 yards total.

San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates was held without a reception in Week 2 against the New England Patriots. He was targeted just once.

Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell said OG Ryan Diem (ankle) is considered day-to-day after suffering an ankle injury in Week 2. Diem is wearing a walking boot on his left foot.

OT | Gabe Carimi | Chicago Bears | Injury
Chicago Bears OT Gabe Carimi (knee) has a dislocated right knee and could miss around four weeks because of the injury. It is not known if Carimi will need surgery on his knee.

OT | Jeff Otah | Carolina Panthers | Injury
Carolina Panthers OT Jeff Otah (concussion) was able to lift weights and ride a stationary bike Monday, Sept. 19, after missing Week 3 because of a concussion. Head coach Ron Rivera said the team will know later this week if Otah will be cleared to play.

LB | Jonathan Casillas | New Orleans Saints | Injury
New Orleans Saints LB Jonathan Casillas (knee) suffered a knee injury in Week 2; however, the injury is not considered serious. Casillas later returned to the game. "I feel like it's nothing major," Casillas said. "It didn't feel too good when it happened. I put a brace on, went back out there and got a play."

LB | Brian Orakpo | Washington Redskins | Injury
Washington Redskins LB Brian Orakpo (ankle), who dealt with a sprained ankle during the week, said the injury did not hamper him in Week 2. "I was able to move, no problem," Orakpo said.

LB | Quincy Black | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Injury
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris said Sunday, Sept. 18, that LB Quincy Black (ankle) was benched in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings due to an ankle injury that presumably played a role in Black's several missed tackles. "That's not my thing," Black said of the injury. "If I'm out there, I'm out there. I don't make excuses." LB Mason Foster saw more time as a result.

Arizona Cardinals LB Paris Lenon (ankle) left the game in Week 2 after suffering an ankle injury during the game.


Cornerback

Minnesota Vikings CB Chris Cook (groin) suffered a strained groin in the Week 2 and head coach Leslie Frazier said the team will have a better feel on Cook's Week 3 status during practice Wednesday, Sept. 21.

CB | Josh Wilson | Washington Redskins | Injury
Washington Redskins CB Josh Wilson (back) suffered a back injury in the team's Week 2 game. The injury, however, does not appear to be serious. "It doesn't look too bad right now," head coach Mike Shanahan said after the game.

CB | Mike Jenkins | Dallas Cowboys | Injury
Dallas Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins (shoulder) had an ice bag on his left shoulder following Week 2, but he managed to finish the game after getting knocked out twice in the season opener with a stinger and shoulder. "I made it through all right, man," Jenkins said. "I'm maintaining. It's going to take a couple of weeks to get right, but hopefully I'll become at least 80 percent before next week."

CB | Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury
Philadelphia Eagles CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (ankle) suffered an ankle sprain in the Week 2 game against the Atlanta Falcons.

CB | Asante Samuel | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury
Philadelphia Eagles CB Asante Samuel (finger) was taken to the locker room in the third quarter of the Week 2 game against he Atlanta Falcons due to an open dislocated finger. His return is considered probable.

CB | Vontae Davis | Miami Dolphins | Injury
Miami Dolphins CB Vontae Davis (hamstring) left the game Week 2 in the fourth quarter after suffering a hamstring injury.


Strong Safety

SS | Chris Harris | Chicago Bears | Injury
The Chicago Bears are hoping SS Chris Harris (hamstring) will be able to play in Week 3 after missing Week 2 because of a hamstring injury.


Free Safety

FS | Nick Collins | Green Bay Packers | Injury
Updating a previous item, Green Bay Packers FS Nick Collins (neck) is not suffering from a broken neck or a spinal cord injury, but he will still miss the rest of the season. Collins' agent said all signs are pointing to a disc issue. He will meet with specialists before deciding on the next move.

FS | Dashon Goldson | San Francisco 49ers | Injury
San Francisco 49ers CB Shawntae Spencer (hamstring) and FS Dashon Goldson (knee) have the chance to play in Week 3. Goldson did not play in Week 2 because of his injury and Spencer only played on snap in the game.

FS | Major Wright | Chicago Bears | Injury
Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith said FS Major Wright (head, neck) did not suffer a concussion in Week 2 but did suffer a head injury as well as a stiff neck.
