Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said a thigh injury to WR Dez Bryant (thigh) has hampered his conditioning due to him being unable to practice. "It is, because he hasn't been able to practice and he really hasn't been able to run," Garrett said. "Our training staff has done a great job trying to get as much work with him as possible without taking any backward steps on the thigh bruise, but that's definitely a factor ... Receivers need to be able to run throughout the ballgame, and when you don't practice and you don't run throughout the week, it's hard for you to maintain the pace that you need to maintain throughout a 60-minute game."

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Kellen Winslow posted five receptions in the Week 4 game Monday, Oct. 3, against the Indianapols Colts, but he finished with just 33 yards and no touchdowns. Winslow has failed to find the end zone in four games this season, and he hasn't found the end zone since Dec. 26, 2010, against the Seattle Seahawks last season.

TE | Rob Gronkowski | New England Patriots | Fantasy
New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski finished the Week 4 game against the Oakland Raiders with just one catch for 15 yards, being used mostly as a blocker, but head coach Bill Belichick praised his play. "That's one of the great things about Rob, he really likes to block," said Belichick. "As much as he gets excited about his touchdown catches and his spikes and all that, he really enjoys blocking."

St. Louis Rams TE Michael Hoomanawanui (concussion) suffered a concussion in Week 4. It is Hoomanawanui's second concussion of the season, so the team will be cautious with his return.

TE | Antonio Gates | San Diego Chargers | Injury, Fantasy
San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner said TE Antonio Gates (foot) is making progress from his foot injury and will run Tuesday, Oct. 4.

TE | Jermichael Finley | Green Bay Packers | Fantasy
Green Bay Packers TE Jermichael Finley, who had just three catches for 28 yards against the Denver Broncos in Week 4, said he was being double teamed by the Broncos. "Percentage-wise, I'd say 80 percent of the time I was capped," Finley said. "If every team wants to come in and double-team me, we've got guys like Greg and Jordy (Nelson) and James Jones." Finley was fine with being a decoy for a week, but he said he will become impatient if he has many more weeks like that one.

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles DL Trent Cole (calf) and OT Jason Peters (hamstring) might be sidelined until after the team's bye in Week 7, returning Oct. 30 in Week 8 against the Dallas Cowboys.

OT | Demetrius Bell | Buffalo Bills | Injury
Buffalo Bills OT Demetrius Bell (shoulder) has been ruled out for Week 5 because of a right shoulder injury. Head coach Chan Gailey said Bell will not need surgery on his shoulder.

Minnesota Vikings OT Charlie Johnson (triceps) suffered a triceps injury in Week 4 but should be able to play in Week 5.

DL | Aaron Kampman | Jacksonville Jaguars | Injury
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio left open the possibility that DL Aaron Kampman (knee) could return for the team's Week 5 game. "I'm as hopeful as ever that it's soon," Kampman said. "I don't know, but I practiced last week a little bit, getting more involved in all those football activities on the field. We'll see how it goes."

New York Giants DL Justin Tuck (groin, neck) said Monday, Oct. 3, that he and the team are "going to try to be smart" about his groin and neck injuries, and "to try not to have any setbacks." Both sides are will take the cautious approach. Tuck was uncertain if he'll be ready to play in Week 5.

Indianapolis Colts DL Drake Nevis (back) is dealing with a back injury suffered in Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His return is uncertain.

DL | Juqua Parker | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury
The Philadelphia Eagles are hopeful DL Juqua Parker (ankle) can return in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills to lessen the blow of losing DL Trent Cole (calf) for a few weeks. Parker has not played since Week 2 after suffering a high ankle sprain against the Atlanta Falcons. Head coach Andy Reid said Parker is "very close" to returning to the practice field.

DL | Trent Cole | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury

New England Patriots LB Jerod Mayo (knee) will likely miss six weeks with a medial collateral ligament sprain in his left knee, according to a league source.

The Seattle Seahawks are expected to re-sign free-agent LB David Vobora Tuesday, Oct. 4.

LB | Dane Fletcher | New England Patriots | Injury
New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said Monday, Oct. 3, that LB Dane Fletcher has progressed nicely in his second season. "I think Dane's taken a big jump from where he was last year," Belichick said. "Last year he came in as really a defensive lineman, and made an impact for us in the kicking game. But this year, he came in and played inside linebacker right from the beginning of the year. He's way ahead of where was last year." Fletcher might see an increase in playing time with LB Jerod Mayo (knee) sidelined for an extended period.

New York Jets LB Bryan Thomas (Achilles') will miss the rest of the season with an injury to his Achilles'.

Cornerback

Former NFL CB Deion Sanders said the Dallas Cowboys will not win a Super Bowl with Tony Romo as their starting quarterback. Sanders was critical of Romo's performance in Week 4 versus the Detroit Lions. "Sooner or later we've just got to quit guessing and assuming that this guy is the guy to get you over the hump, and say, 'You know what? This guy is always going to be great statistically, but he's not that guy that can take you to where you want to go.' And that's the Super Bowl," Sanders said.

CB | Joe Haden | Cleveland Browns | Injury
Cleveland Browns CB Joe Haden (knee) wore a brace on his knee to team meetings Monday, Oct. 3. Head coach Pat Shurmur didn't specify the nature of his knee sprain or the prognosis, although he is not expected to need surgery. "We'll just have to see as we move forward how significant it is," Shurmur said. "At this point, I don't know anything. There's a chance he may miss some time, but I don't know that yet. We'll see, being our next game is not for a couple of weeks." The Browns are off in Week 5 due to the bye.
