Quarterback

QB | Brandon Weeden | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Oklahoma State QB Brandon Weeden could be a second-round pick in the NFL Draft, and one scouting director even said if Weeden were 22 instead of 28, he'd be a first-round draft pick.

QB | Peyton Manning | Indianapolis Colts | Injury
Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning (neck) is struggling to get healthy, according to Peter King. There is a March 8 trigger date for payment of $28 million, and it is extremely unlikely the Colts will pay. In addition, Colts owner Jim Irsay strongly denied an earlier report that a decision was made "weeks ago.

Running Back

RB | Jahvid Best | Detroit Lions | Injury, Draft
The Detroit Lions could look at selecting a running back in the NFL Draft as the team is concerned RB Jahvid Best's (concussion) career may be ended by continuing post-concussion symptoms.

RB | Ahmad Bradshaw | New York Giants | Injury
New York Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) heads straight for the training room each day he arrives at the team's practice facility, according to WR Victor Cruz. "You could just tell he's in some pain," Cruz said. "All the (trainers) come in and start working on him immediately. So he's definitely in pain." Despite a cracked bone in his right foot, Bradshaw has played through pain in eight straight games, and will play in Super Bowl XLVI against the New England Patriots Sunday, Feb. 5, barring any setbacks.

RB | Matt Forte | Free Agent | Injury, Free Agents
Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte (knee) was cleared to play in the Pro Bowl Sunday, Jan. 29, and he saw three touches. Forte ran twice for six yards, and he added a 4-yard reception. The most important part of Forte playing was for the impending free-agent to show his knee was healthy.

RB | Doug Martin | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Boise State RB Doug Martin drew praise from NFL scouts this past week at the Senior Bowl for his work in pass protection drills. Despite his small stature, he seems to play bigger. Scouts also like his ability to hit the hold hard. "He'll lower his shoulder," a scout said. "He's not quite as strong in the lower body as (Washington RB Chris Polk), but he's another guy that can get yardage after contact. He protects the ball a little better (than Polk)." Both Martin and Polk are projected as second- or third-round picks in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Wide Receiver

WR | Hakeem Nicks | New York Giants | Injury
New York Giants WR Hakeem Nicks (shoulder) is expected to play in Super Bowl XLVI, according to a league source. Though it's unclear whether his range of motion will be limited, the source was optimistic that Nicks will be "fine."

WR | Wes Welker | New England Patriots | Free Agents
New England Patriots impending free-agent WR Wes Welker said Sunday, Jan. 29, he can't see himself in another uniform next season and plans to re-sign with the team. "I plan on being back," Welker said. "I am not really too worried about that right now. I am fully concentrated on this game and what we have to do, but I plan on being back." If the sides can't hammer out an extension by the start of the 2012 league year in March, the Patriots would likely put the franchise tag on Welker.

WR | Jeff Fuller | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Texas A&M WR Jeff Fuller disappointed during Senior Bowl week and his NFL Draft stock is on the decline.

WR | Vincent Jackson | Free Agent | Free Agents
San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner said he hopes the team can re-sign impending free-agent WR Vincent Jackson. "The way he performed this year speaks to how valuable he is to our team," Turner said. "From a coaching standpoint, I'd love to have him here. When you look at his production, his average per catch separates him from a lot of guys."

Tight End

TE | Antonio Gates | San Diego Chargers | Injury
San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates (foot) played in the Pro Bowl Sunday, Jan. 29, despite battling foot problems during the middle of the regular season. He looked good, too, posting three grabs for 67 yards and a 27-yard touchdown from Chargers teammate QB Philip Rivers in the second quarter.

OG | Kris Dielman | San Diego Chargers | Injury

Offensive Line

OL | Cordy Glenn | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Georgia OG Cordy Glenn had a strong showing during the week of practice at the Senior Bowl, and Alabama DL Courtney Upshaw, projected as a first-round pick in April's NFL Draft, left impressed by Glenn. Upshaw said Glenn was the best offensive lineman he passed during the week's practices. "I felt like I got better each day and am now one step closer to the NFL," Glenn said. He is rated as the top offensive guard by several analysts.

OL | Mike Brewster | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Ohio State C Mike Brewster struggled during practice last week at the Senior Bowl, although he was a little better in the game Saturday, Jan. 28. Brewster reportedly doesn't play as strong as his size, which is 6-4 and 310 pounds. Brewster was not effective blocking one-on-one, and he has questionable footwork. Brewster is projected as a fifth-round pick in the NFL Draft.

North Carolina LB Zach Brown had a strong all-around week of practice at the Senior Bowl, and he showed speed and the ability to chase down plays from sideline to sideline. Brown showed off foot quickness, which makes up for his less-than-ideal size at 6-1, 236 pounds. Brown disrupted several plays in the backfield. As such, he is projected as a first-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, perhaps in the Top 20 with a strong showing at the NFL Scouting Combine.

LB | Keith Bulluck | Free Agent | Free Agents
Free-agent LB Keith Bulluck (Giants) said he has not filed his retirement papers because he is not ruling anything out but does not have the desire to play at this point even if a team approached him.

LB | Aldon Smith | San Francisco 49ers | Free Agents

Cornerback

CB | Brandon Boykin | NFL Draft Prospect | Injury, Draft
Georgia CB Brandon Boykin (leg) suffered a lower right leg injury in the Senior Bowl Saturday, Jan. 28, but he posted on his official Twitter account that the injury "is not as bad as the report have said." Boykin said it was a small setback, and he expects to be back in action in three weeks. The NFL Scouting Combine begins Feb. 22 in Indianapolis. Before the injury, Boykin was one of reportedly one of the more impressive players during the week of practice, as he impressed NFL scouts and draft analysts by battling bigger receivers. He was projected as a second- or third-round pick in April's NFL Draft before the injury.

CB | Carlos Rogers | San Francisco 49ers | Free Agents
San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent CB Carlos Rogers said he is looking to get a four-year or five-year contract this offseason. Rogers said he is willing to take a discount to remain with the 49ers but still wants to be paid like a top-end cornerback.
