Quarterback

QB | Robert Griffin III | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Baylor QB Robert Griffin III said he still has hopes of being the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, ahead of Stanford QB Andrew Luck. "Mr. Irsay hasn't said who he's picking," Griffin said of Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay. "Andrew's a great player. If he's the top pick, I'll be happy for him. And I'm sure that, if I'm No. 1, he would be happy for me. I think it's a possibility."

QB | Cam Newton | Carolina Panthers | Draft
Stanford QB Andrew Luck has been training with quarterback guru George Whitfield. Whitfield, who worked with Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton last year, said he had three sessions with Luck in Los Angeles leading into the NFL Scouting Combine.

QB | Brady Quinn | Free Agent | Free Agents
Denver Broncos impending free-agent QB Brady Quinn is apologizing to QB Tim Tebow for unflattering comments Quinn made about him in a GQ Magazine article. In it, Quinn was quoted as saying, "We've had a lot of, I guess, luck, to put it simply." Quinn also said he felt the fans were the reason Tebow leapfrogged him on the depth chart when supplanting QB Kyle Orton as the starter after a 1-4 start. "I felt like the fans had a lot to do with that. Just 'cause they were chanting his name. There was a big calling for him. No, I don't have any billboards. That would have been nice." Quinn took to Twitter after the article's release Tuesday, Feb. 21, saying the comments attributed to him did not reflect his opinion of Tebow.

QB | Ben Roethlisberger | Pittsburgh Steelers | Fantasy
Pittsburgh Steelers OT Willie Colon restructured his contract for the upcoming season in order to ease the team's salary cap concerns. $3.8 million of his $4.5 million 2012 contract has been prorated over four years. Pittsburgh still remains $10 million over the cap, however. QB Ben Roethlisberger and LB James Harrison are both open to restructuring their contracts, too.

QB | Chad Henne | Free Agent | Free Agents, Fantasy
The Miami Dolphins will not attempt to re-sign impending free-agent QB Chad Henne, according to league sources. The team has made it clear that they want an upgrade at the position through free agency or the draft.

QB | Peyton Manning | Indianapolis Colts | Fantasy
The Seattle Seahawks are not expected to be interested in Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning if he become available this offseason. "I just know if you panic at the position, it can set the organization back. So we're not going to do that," general manager John Schneider said.

Running Back

RB | Peyton Hillis | Free Agent | Free Agents
Cleveland Browns head coach Pat Shurmur said he has spoken a few times with impending free-agent RB Peyton Hillis this offseason but is not sure if the team will bring him back next season.

RB | Cedric Benson | Free Agent | Free Agents
Cincinnati Bengals impending free-agent RB Cedric Benson will likely be playing elsewhere in 2012. The Bengals have made no effort to re-sign Benson as he heads toward unrestricted free agency March 13. "We haven't had any talks about a new deal, re-signing or anything like that to my knowledge," Benson said. "I'm not sure where things are laying up there in Cincinnati."

RB | Adrian Peterson | Minnesota Vikings | Injury, Fantasy

He also suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament as well as a torn posterior lateral corner.

WR | Vincent Jackson | Free Agent | Free Agents
The San Diego Chargers are reluctant to place the franchise tag on impending free-agent WR Vincent Jackson at this point. Doing so will cost the Chargers nearly $13.7 million. Jackson's tag is simply too rich in an offseason with several needs to address for the Chargers. According to sources, general manager A.J. Smith is "extremely uncomfortable" allocating that much money to a one-year guaranteed deal.

WR | Brandon Lloyd | Free Agent | Free Agents, Fantasy
St. Louis Rams impending free-agent WR Brandon Lloyd said he is open to returning to the Rams, but the idea of following New England Patriots offensive coach Josh McDaniels is tempting. "I find that very interesting. I would like to entertain that and see where that goes. I've made no bones about that," Lloyd said. "I've been very successful in Josh's offense. I admire Tom Brady. I admire what that organization has done. I admire that organization and how they run things over there. I'd definitely be interested in hearing how I could possibly fit into that equation."

OG | Carl Nicks | New Orleans Saints | Free Agents
New Orleans Saints impending free-agent OG Carl Nicks said he would be unhappy if the team placed the franchise tag on him this offseason. Detroit Lions impending free-agent DL Cliff Avril said he will think about holding out of the offseason workout program if the team puts the franchise tag on him. "I don't want to be franchised," Avril said. "That's basically what I got last year. The (restricted free-agent) tender was basically the same thing. I just want security and longevity."

Carr also said he wants to remain in Kansas City. "The signing of Stanford Routt does not impact where we're at with Brandon Carr. As a matter of fact, Romeo and I both reached out to Brandon yesterday as this was unfolding and talked to him," Pioli said. "I spoke personally with Brandon, and without getting into the details of what that conversation was, he knows and he's known before that he's someone that we want to try and keep here and he's still someone we want to keep a Chief."
