Quarterback

QB | Robert Griffin III | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
The Cleveland Browns have reportedly held preliminary talks with the St. Louis Rams regarding the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft, which the Browns would use to select Baylor QB Robert Griffin III.

QB | Peyton Manning | Indianapolis Colts | Draft
The Miami Dolphins are not expected to pursue Baylor QB Robert Griffin III in the NFL Draft. Although the Dolphins did interview with Griffin at the NFL Scouting Combine, the team's primary interest is targeting Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning if he hits the market. The Dolphins are looking to win now.

QB | Drew Brees | Free Agent | Free Agents, Fantasy
The New Orleans Saints are still far apart in contract talks with impending free-agent QB Drew Brees and likely will place the franchise tag on him if they are not able to reach an agreement by the deadline.

QB | David Carr | Free Agent | Free Agents
The New York Giants have not yet had any discussions with impending free-agent QB David Carr.

QB | Ryan Tannehill | NFL Draft Prospect | Fantasy
The Washington Redskins are willing to give up two first-round picks (this year's No. 6 pick and next year's No. 1) and a number of mid- to late-round picks to move up to No. 2 in this year's draft to select Baylor QB Robert Griffin III. The Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins are also willing to trade up for the second overall selection. The Redskins are also high on Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill and could select him with the sixth overall pick.

Running Back

RB | Darren McFadden | Oakland Raiders | Fantasy
Oakland Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Knapp said RB Darren McFadden fits nicely with the zone-blocking scheme Knapp will be installing. "I was here last in 2008, and Darren McFadden was a rookie that year," Knapp said. "I'm excited to get back with him. He really fits our run scheme well, as far as the zone scheme, which I'll be implementing with our coaches. That's a great starting point for me."

Wide Receiver

WR | Vincent Jackson | Free Agent | Free Agents
The Washington Redskins want to add an high-profile wide receiver this offseason and could show interest in San Diego Chargers impending free-agent Vincent Jackson, Indianapolis Colts impending free-agent WR Pierre Garcon and New Orleans Saints impending free-agent WR Marques Colston if they are available in free agency.

WR | Braylon Edwards | Free Agent | Free Agents
The New York Jets are interested in signing free-agent WR Braylon Edwards (49ers) this offseason.

WR | Plaxico Burress | Free Agent | Free Agents
New York Jets impending free-agent WR Plaxico Burress said he would like to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason.

WR | Miles Austin | Dallas Cowboys | Injury, Fantasy
Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones feels WR Miles Austin (hamstring) does not have diminished skills, and he believes the receiver's hamstrings are completely healed. "I think he's done a great job not only playing through but preparing himself for (the injuries)," Jones said. "I don't think that this is a consequence of him being a year older than he was before."

WR | Greg Camarillo | Free Agent | Transaction, Free Agents
The Minnesota Vikings have informed impending free-agent WR Greg Camarillo that he will not be re-signed.

WR | Adrian Arrington | New Orleans Saints | Transaction
The New Orleans Saints signed WR Adrian Arrington to an exclusive rights deal Tuesday, Feb. 28. The contract is for one season and $540,000.

WR | Domenik Hixon | New York Giants | Injury
The New York Giants have had discussions about bringing back WR Domenik Hixon (knee), even though he has torn his right anterior cruciate ligament twice in the past two years. He is expected to land a one-year deal at the NFL minimum with no bonus, and possibly no incentives, wherever he ends up.

Guard

OG | Carl Nicks | New Orleans Saints | Free Agents
New Orleans Saints impending free-agent OG Carl Nicks said via Twitter he is getting nervous as free agency approaches. "Man, I don't know what to do. My anxiety is on a hundred thousand trillion! ... March 5 is a big day." March 5 is the deadline for teams to apply the franchise tag on players.

OG | Ben Grubbs | Free Agent | Free Agents
Updating a previous item, the Baltimore Ravens and impending free-agent OG Ben Grubbs are not close to agreeing to a long-term deal. "Ben is extremely highly regarded in this league. He's in the prime of his career and may or may not have another opportunity to sign another significant contract," agent Pat Dye said. "He needs to be sure that he explores all his options. He loves it there and would welcome being back there, but anything that the Ravens present him, we would have to evaluate it in the context of what the market might bear to him. Is that to say something might not happen before free agency starts? No, that's not to say that at all. I would expect that we would be talking in the near future, but I don't think a (deal) is imminent at this point."

OG | Kris Dielman | San Diego Chargers | Injury
The San Diego Chargers will hold a press conference Thursday, March 1, as OG Kris Dielman (concussion) announces his retirement.

OG | Stacy Andrews | New York Giants | Injury
New York Giants OT Stacy Andrews (lung) wants to return to the team, and the club might bring him back at some point before training camp begins in July for some experience and depth along their offensive line. The team wants to make sure he is fully healthy, which is their biggest concern according to Andrews' agent. Andrews is still recovering from deep vein thrombosis - blood clots that formed in his legs traveled to his lungs. Andrews is due for a CT scan next week in New York.

Offensive Line

OL | Justin Drescher | New Orleans Saints | Transaction
The New Orleans Saints signed OL Justin Drescher to an exclusive rights deal Tuesday, Feb. 28. The contract is for one-year, $540,000.

Defensive Line

DL | Dave Tollefson | New York Giants | Free Agents
The New York Giants have an interest in bringing back impending free-agent DL Dave Tollefson, but they have to let him test the free-agent market first. That's because Tollefson played last year under a "minimum salary benefit deal" - a one-year contract for the veteran minimum that counts for less against a team's salary cap. Those deals, according to the rules laid out in the Collective Bargaining Agreement, may not be extended or renegotiated.

DL | Shea McClellin | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Boise State DL Shea McClellin worked out with the defensive linemen at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 28, but he looked more like a linebacker. McClellin posted a 40-yard dash time as fast as 4.65 seconds, and he practiced at that speed during drills. McClellin showed off tremendous balance and rhythm during defensive line drills, and showed off quick feet and an ability to go sideline-to-sideline in linebacker drills. Some scouts felt he did enough to be considered at the top of the second round in the NFL Draft.

Defensive Tackle

DT | Dontari Poe | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
The Carolina Panthers could show interest in Memphis DT Dontari Poe in the 2012 NFL Draft even though they do not think defensive tackle is their biggest need.

Defensive End

DE | Whitney Mercilus | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
University of Illinois DE Whitney Mercilus said he received interest from the Chicago Bears, San Diego Chargers and Buffalo Bills are the NFL Scouting Combine.

DE | Ronnell Lewis | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Oklahoma DL Ronnell Lewis took part in the defensive line workout, and linebacker drills at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 28. Lewis showed off his strength, putting up 36 reps in the bench press. And when working in the drill session, he easily moved about the field and displayed the ability to change direction immediately. It is also noted that Lewis showed tremendous hand punch in bag drills.

Linebacker

LB | Bart Scott | New York Jets | Draft
New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum admitted that the team spoke with LB Bart Scott's agent at the NFL Scouting Combine last week regarding the veteran's future. The team is keeping their options open when it comes to possibly trading Scott. "All options are on the table," Tannenbaum said. "We're going to keep having discussions with him. We'll see where things go."

LB | Curtis Lofton | Free Agent | Free Agents
The Atlanta Falcons may not be willing to re-sign impending free-agent LB Curtis Lofton what he will be looking for because he is not great in pass coverage.

LB | LeRoy Hill | Free Agent | Free Agents
The Seattle Seahawks likely will not be interested in re-signing impending free-agent LB LeRoy Hill this offseason after his recent arrest for marijuana possession.

LB | Mario Williams | Free Agent | Free Agents
The Seattle Seahawks are expected to be one of the primary suitors for Houston Texans impending free-agent DL Mario Williams, if he is unable to strike a deal before March 13 to re-sign with the Texans. "This is from teams in the division," ESPN's John Clayton said. "They think that Seattle is going to be one of the main teams (pursuing) Mario Williams. They really do." The Texans appear unable to afford Williams.

LB | Vontaze Burfict | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Arizona State LB Vontaze Burfict continues to see his draft stock fall, as he was unable to break the five-second barrier in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 28. Burfict did not participate in the position drills, either. He was once considered a Top-10 talent, but his draft grade has plummeted, and he now might be selected on the final day of the NFL Draft.

LB | Zach Brown | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
North Carolina LB Zach Brown timed as fast as 4.45 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 28, and he flashed ability during drills. However, he seemed stiff and off balance at times. Still, his size/speed ratio and game film reportedly make him a Top 25 choice.

LB | Bruce Irvin | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
West Virginia LB Bruce Irvin, who disappointed scouts in his senior season in college, bounced back with a good showing Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the NFL Scouting Combine. Irvin posted times below 4.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash in both attempts, and he looked quick in all drills.

LB | DeMario Davis | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Arkansas State LB DeMario Davis improved his stock at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 28, looking like the complete package. He posted a 4.58-second time in the 40-yard dash, posted a 38.5-inch vertical leap and 10-feet, four-inches in the broad jump. He also posted 32 reps in the bench press. Davis, who was a bit of an unknown coming in, displayed good speed and quickness while moving in every direction, and he showed solid ball skills in coverage drills. Davis improved his stock, perhaps moving into the third round of the NFL Draft.

LB | Luke Kuechly | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Boston College LB Luke Kuechly had times in the 4.5-second range for both of his attempts in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 28. He also posted 38 inches in the vertical leap and 10-feet, 3-inches in the broad jump. Kuechly impressed scouts the most opening his hips in coverage drills, while getting great depth on pass drops. However, he did not display a smooth change of direction.

LB | Mychal Kendricks | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
California LB Mychal Kendricks, the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, continues to improve his stock at the NFL Scouting Combine. His time in the 40-yard dash was fastest among LBs at 4.45 seconds, and his vertical jump was the longest at 39.5 inches. His broad jump was also the longest among all LBs at 10-feet, 7 inches. Kendricks really impressed scouts during the drill sessions, looking quick and explosive in every task.

LB | Ahmad Brooks | San Francisco 49ers | Transaction
The San Francisco 49ers re-signed LB Ahmad Brooks to a six-year deal worth up to $44.5 million Tuesday, Feb. 28. The base value is $7 million per year.

Defensive Back

DB | Janzen Jackson | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
McNeese State DB Janzen Jackson had off-field issues while at Tennessee, but he showed well at the NFL Scouting Combine and has the skills teams covet.

DB | Asa Jackson | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Cal-Poly DB Asa Jackson helped improve his draft stock at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 28. Jackson ran in the upper 4.4-second range in the 40-yard dash, and was solid in the practice session. Jackson showed off quickness and sound fundamentals in drills. He was fluid changing direction, and good in the backpedal. He can also be used in the return game, so he might have moved into middle-round consideration in the NFL Draft with his showing.

DB | Justin Bethel | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft, Free Agents
Presbyterian DB Justin Bethel showed big-time skills at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 28, despite coming from a small school. He was smooth backpedaling off the line, and fundamentally sound in defensive back drills. He has the ability to line up at either safety or cornerback. Bethel likely improved his stock from undrafted free-agent to the last day of the NFL Draft with his showing.

DB | Jamell Fleming | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Oklahoma DB Jamell Fleming posted 40-yard dash times in the mid-4.4 range, while also managed 23 reps in the bench press, at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 28. During drills, Fleming was quick-footed while backpedaling, and he showed tremendous ball skills.

DB | Dwight Bentley | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft, Free Agents
Louisiana-Lafayette DB Dwight Bentley was considered as a marginal free-agent prospect entering the NFL Scouting Combine, but he really improved his draft stock considerably. Bentley had a nice Senior Bowl, and parlayed that with a good performance Tuesday, Feb. 28. Bentley's times in the 40-yard dash were both in the mid-4.4-second range, and he looked good in drills. Bentley showed off quick, fluid backpedaling and good balance. Some scouts feel he might have moved into the middle of the second round in the NFL Draft.

Cornerback

CB | Bradley Fletcher | St. Louis Rams | Injury
The St. Louis Rams are not sure when CB Bradley Fletcher (knee) will be able to return to play next season but general manager Les Snead said he will not return until he is 100 percent.

CB | Morris Claiborne | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
The St. Louis Rams could consider taking Louisiana State CB Morris Claiborne in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft especially if they draft down a few spots.

CB | Janoris Jenkins | NFL Draft Prospect | Free Agents
The Carolina Panthers have interest in North Alabama CB Janoris Jenkins but will have to do a lot of background work in him before deciding whether they would be interested in draft him.

CB | Lardarius Webb | Baltimore Ravens | Free Agents
The Baltimore Ravens are expected to use two first-round restricted tenders on CBs Lardarius Webb and Cary Williams, both of whom are restricted free agents. The goal with both is to agree on a long-term deal.

CB | Josh Robinson | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
UCF DB Josh Robinson was the fastest defensive back in attendance at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 28, posting a 4.33-second mark in the 40-yard dash. He hit 38.5 inches in the vertical leap, and his broad jump was measured at 11 feet, one inch. Robinson did show a lot of stiffness in drills, and was often off balance, but his sheer athleticism might be enough to move his stock up to the second day of the NFL Draft.

CB | Ron Brooks | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Louisiana State DB Ron Brooks showed enough skill during his senior season to get invited to the NFL Scouting Combine. He continues to improve his stock Tuesday, Feb. 28, posting a 4.35-second time in the 40-yard dash, while measuring 38 inches in the vertical leap. He also showed good ball skills during the drill session.

CB | Stephon Gilmore | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
South Carolina DB Stephon Gilmore posted a 4.4-second 40-yard dash time at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 28, and he managed a 10-feet, 3-inch broad jump. Gilmore impressed the most in drills, however, looking fluid and smooth in all drills. He tracked the ball well in deep pass drills and displayed tremendous hands grabbing the ball from the air. Gilmore might have done enough to move into the late first round of the NFL Draft.

CB | Jayron Hosley | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Virginia Tech DB Jayron Hosley posted a 40-yard dash time of 4.47 seconds at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 28. He showed off good speed in drills, and had tremendous burst in every direction. Hosley's workouts might have pushed him into the second round of the NFL Draft.

Strong Safety

SS | Cliff Harris | Retired | Draft
Former Oregon DB Cliff Harris struggled Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the NFL Scouting Combine. He was dismissed from the Oregon football program last season, and might have been showing some rust. He struggled to run the 40-yard dash under 4.6 seconds, and he also showed poorly in ball drills while looking off balance and stiff.

SS | Sean Cattouse | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
California DB Sean Cattouse struggled Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the NFL Scouting Combine, struggling to break the 4.7-second mark in the 40-yard dash. Cattouse also showed marginal quickness during drills, and his ball skills looked questionable. Cattouse is expected to drop into the late rounds of the NFL Draft as a result.

Free Safety

FS | Jonathon Amaya | New Orleans Saints | Transaction
The New Orleans Saints signed FS Jonathon Amaya to an exclusive rights deal Tuesday, Feb. 28. The deal is for one year and $540,000.

FS | Trenton Robinson | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Michigan State DB Trenton Robinson was among the top safeties to perform at the NFL Scouting Combine Tuesday, Feb. 28. He had a 40-yard dash time in the low 4.5-second range, and he turned in a broad jump of 12 feet and five inches. Robinson also looked cornerback-like during drills, showing quick feet in every direction. It's uncertain if he'll be a cornerback or safety in the NFL.
