Quarterback

QB | Ryan Tannehill | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
The Minnesota Vikings could potentially trade the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft to a team looking to trade up for the chance to select Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill's draft stock has been on the rise.

QB | Joe Flacco | Baltimore Ravens | Free Agents
The Baltimore Ravens are currently just $1.7 million under the salary cap. In order to free up some cap room, the Ravens are hoping to get new deals completed with QB Joe Flacco and franchise free-agent RB Ray Rice. Flacco ($8 million cap number) and Rice ($7.7 million franchise tag) account for 12 percent of the team's salary cap.

QB | Andrew Luck | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Stanford QB Andrew Luck's private quarterbacks coach, George Whitfield Jr., said the Indianapolis Colts would be making a huge mistake if they pass on Luck in the NFL Draft. "If they over-think this, they're going to make a mistake they'll regret for years," Whitfield said. "He's constantly being categorized as being safe, the sure thing, almost to the point where it's a negative like there's a ceiling, no apparent way for him to get better. It's like they're describing a girl you've never seen as smart, witty, funny, consistent, without saying anything about her physically. It almost feels like they're looking at him as the guy with the least amount of negatives."

Arizona State QB Brock Osweiler has been invited to attend the 2012 NFL Draft but is not sure if he will attend the event.


Running Back

RB | Ahmad Bradshaw | New York Giants | Injury
Updating a previous item, New York Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot) said he had an injection of bone marrow from his hip put into his foot to help the bone heal. He expects to rest for three months.

RB | Ray Rice | Baltimore Ravens | Free Agents
The Baltimore Ravens are currently just $1.7 million under the salary cap. In order to free up some cap room, the Ravens are hoping to get new deals completed with QB Joe Flacco and franchise free-agent RB Ray Rice. RB | Mikel Leshoure | Detroit Lions | Injury
Updating a previous item, Detroit Lions RB Mikel Leshoure (Achilles') could be available by training camp, or even sooner; however, head coach Jim Schwartz does not want to put a timetable on his return at this point.

The Pittsburgh Steelers may consider taking a running back in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Virginia Tech RB David Wilson, Boise State RB Doug Martin and University of Miami RB Lamar Miller could be options if the team wants to go that route.

Rutgers FB Joe Martinek posted 40-yard dash times of 4.50 seconds twice at his school's Pro Day March 21. He also posted a 32-1/2-inch vertical leap, a 9-foot-8 broad jump and a 4.21-second short shuttle time. In addition, Martinek had a 6.87-second three-cone time, while posting 26 strength lifts. Martinek is projected to be selected in the seventh round of the NFL Draft, or perhaps he'll be a priority free agent.


Wide Receiver

Oklahoma WR Ryan Broyles (knee) will hold an on-campus workout April 12. Broyles could potentially be a second-round pick in the NFL Draft.

WR | Jordy Nelson | Green Bay Packers | Fantasy
Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy wants to feature WR Jordy Nelson more in 2012. Despite starting just nine games last season, Nelson led the team in several receiving categories, including catches (68), yards (1,263), yards per catch (18.6) and touchdowns (15). "Jordy is a perfect example of a guy who was given more opportunities last year and performed outstanding," McCarthy said. "We'll keep moving him around, probably play him in the slot a little more than he's played in the past. Those are the kind of things we continue to look at, give him more matchups, expand his route tree where he's maybe more of the focus."

WR | Steve E. Smith | St. Louis Rams | Fantasy
Updating a previous report, St. Louis Rams WR Steve E. Smith not only has a base salary of $1 million for his one-year deal, but the deal includes another $1.5 million in roster bonuses, presumably paid out on a per-game basis.

Shockey has been meeting with legal and business advisors and has not ruled out taking legal action if Sapp and the league do not apologize.

New England Patriots OG Logan Mankins (knee) is making good progress in his rehab from a torn anterior cruciate ligament and has been able to walk without crutches.

"Personally, I think if we had a game tomorrow, I think I'd be able to play," Posluszny said, adding that while he's not 100 percent cleared, "We're right on track, for sure."

The Tennessee Titans have re-signed free-agent LB Tim Shaw to a three-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Strong Safety

SS | Tyvon Branch | Oakland Raiders | Free Agents
The Oakland Raiders are still working with franchise free-agent SS Tyvon Branch on a long-term contract agreement and general manager Reggie McKenzie is optimistic a deal will get done this offseason. Branch is currently scheduled to make $6.2 million this season but a new contract would help the team in terms of salary cap space.
