Quarterback

QB | Kevin Kolb | Arizona Cardinals | Free Agents
There remains a possibility for the Arizona Cardinals to bring in another passer to push QBs Kevin Kolb and John Skelton. According to league sources, Kolb is expected to be given every opportunity to win the job the next two weeks, but other options could arise as well. Free-agent QB Donovan McNabb (Vikings) could be an option.

QB | Peyton Manning | Denver Broncos | Injury, Fantasy
Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning said that, at 36 years old, he does not have the arm strength he used to. Manning thinks losing arm strength is not a function of last year's neck injury. "I still have strength to recover, still have work to do," Manning said. "I am 36 years old. My arm has a lot of yards and a lot of touchdowns on it, so it's probably not going to be the same as it was when it was 22, but I still think it can complete some passes. I can move the chains and hopefully get our offense into the end zone this year."

QB | Brady Quinn | Kansas City Chiefs | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel said Tuesday, Aug. 14, that a decision will be made Wednesday, Aug. 15, as to who will be the No. 2 quarterback in the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 18, against the St. Louis Rams. San Francisco 49ers QB Josh X. Johnson, not QB Scott Tolzien, will serve as the No. 3 quarterback in the team's preseason game against the Houston Texans Saturday, Aug. 18. "They're going to be fine," Cutler said. "Protection-wise, we're going to do what we have to to protect myself or whoever's in there. If we have to keep eight in there, if we have to keep nine in there, that's what we're going to do. We're not going to put those guys in positions where they're going to fail or I'm going to get hit." Cutler will play in the team's game Saturday, Aug. 11, after sitting out the preseason opener last week.

QB | Joe Flacco | Baltimore Ravens | Fantasy
Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco said he would love it if the team used more of a no-huddle offense this season. "I love the no-huddle," Flacco said. "We've got to get quicker and quicker at it. Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey issued a warning to holdout RB Maurice Jones-Drew, telling him to be ready to play once he returns to the team. "There's no exercises and nothing you can do to simulate an NFL practice and an NFL game. We'll just see where he is when he's back both mentally and physically," Mularkey said. "I think it would be a disservice to put him in if he was not fully prepared. It would be a health risk to do that."

I just feel like it's another step we have to take, and (in the next preseason game) I feel like we'll be comfortable and then we'll take another step."

RB | DeAngelo Williams | Carolina Panthers | Fantasy
Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams said he's happy with his role in the team's crowded backfield this year. He averaged less than 10 carries per game last season, largely due to the presence of RB Jonathan Stewart and surprising rookie QB Cam Newton. Williams' workload could be even less in 2012 with the addition of RB Mike Tolbert.

RB | Adrian Peterson | Minnesota Vikings | Injury, Fantasy
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (knee) will participate in his first practice with pads Tuesday, Aug. 14. The coaching staff will continue to be cautious with his progress, though. "I feel great, always felt great, never developed a symptom or anything," Massaquoi said. Massaquoi could play in the team's next preseason game.

WR | Chad Johnson | Free Agent | Free Agents
Free-agent WR Chad Johnson (Dolphins) looked solid in Miami Dolphins training camp, but he didn't look that good. He was still an aging receiver who struggled to separate from tight coverage.

WR | Nate Burleson | Detroit Lions | Fantasy
Detroit Lions WR Nate Burleson, noticeably lighter this training camp, is working extremely hard this summer to prove he still belongs on the roster. Burleson has been motivated by the team selecting wide receivers in the last two drafts, and he is working harder than he ever has this offseason. He is down to 194 pounds after playing around 205 pounds last season, and he said he is a step quicker as a result. "I just tightened up on my diet and lifted a little bit harder, ran a little bit more," Burleson said. "I figure if I gained weight, I'm going to solidify myself as a slot for the rest of my career. If I lose a little bit of weight and show my agility and my speed, I still have the versatility to help this offense on the outside."

There's an unbelievable amount of humility. I say they have talent and perform like they're elite players, but they work like they're undrafted rookies."

WR | Mike Williams | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Fantasy
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Williams has picked up his work ethic this year after a disappointing 2011 season in which he reported to training camp out of shape and had only three touchdowns all year.
