Seattle Seahawks QB Matt Flynn (elbow) has made progress from an elbow injury similar to tendinitis, which he suffered back in August. Flynn served his biggest role in Week 3 during practice, when he ran the scout team. "He had a very good week that week," Carroll said, "and it looked like he's ready to go."

QB | Michael Vick | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury, Fantasy
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said Monday, Oct. 1, QB Michael Vick (knee) suffered a knee contusion in Week 4; however, the injury shouldn't sideline Vick for Week 5. Reid confirmed Vick will practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said WR Hakeem Nicks (knee) is not really improving. "How much concern can I show you," Coughlin said when asked how concerned he was.

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy indicated WR Greg Jennings (groin) could sit out Week 5 to allow his groin to heal. Jennings left the Week 4 game early because the groin injury flared up and did not allow him to run at full stride.

New York Jets WR Santonio Holmes (foot) is expected to miss multiple games despite the fact that X-rays were negative on his left foot. He received an MRI exam Monday, Oct. 1, and the results are being "shipped to different places." He'll likely seek a second opinion as doctors try to determine if his injury is related to muscle or ligament damage. Doctors have ruled out an Achilles' injury. WRs Chaz Schilens and Jeremy Kerley are the top receivers with Holmes out.

WR | Mohamed Massaquoi | Cleveland Browns | Injury
Cleveland Browns WRs Mohamed Massaquoi (hamstring), Travis Benjamin (undisclosed) and Joshua Cribbs (head) did not participate in practice Monday, Oct. 1. Head coach Pat Shurmur said all three receivers are considered day-to-day.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers OT Jeremy Trueblood was inactive in the Week 4 game against the Washington Redskins, and head coach Greg Schiano cites the lack of versatility. He used OT Jamon Meredith, who not only can play tackle, but guard. "We felt like Jamon gave us more position flexibility," Schiano said. "It was a tough one. I love Trueblood. I think he's everything we want: Hard-working, (pays) attention to detail, tough. But it's just when you're not the starter, when you're a backup and you dress seven offensive linemen, it's (about) position flexibility at that point.

OT | Kraig Urbik | Buffalo Bills | Injury
Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills OG Kraig Urbik (ankle) confirmed that he will miss at least Week 5 because of a high ankle sprain.

OT | King Dunlap | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said OT King Dunlap (hamstring), DT Derek Landri (knee), FS Colt Anderson (knee) and LB Jon Dorenbos (ankle) are expected to participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

Jacksonville Jaguars OT Cameron Bradfield (ankle) was able to play every snap in Week 4 and said he did not have any setbacks during or after the game.


Guard

Buffalo Bills OL Cordy Glenn (ankle) suffered an ankle injury in the third quarter of the team's Week four game and is likely out in Week 5. OL Kraig Urbik (ankle) suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 4 and also is likely out for the team's Week 5 game.

Dallas Cowboys NT Jay Ratliff (ankle) might be able to make his regular season debut in Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens following the team's bye.

Arizona Cardinals DL Darnell Dockett (hamstring), LB Paris Lenon (knee), LB O'Brien Schofield (knee), FB Anthony Sherman (hamstring), OT Adam Snyder (elbow) and NT Dan Williams (foot) were each limited in practice Monday, Oct. 1.

DL | Julius Peppers | Chicago Bears | Injury
Chicago Bears DL Julius Peppers (undisclosed) limped off in the waning moments of the second quarter of the Week 4 game Monday, Oct. 1, against the Dallas Cowboys due to an undisclosed apparent lower body injury.

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said DL Cliff Avril's (back) injury does not appear to be a long-term issue.


Linebacker

The Philadelphia Eagles re-signed LB Adrian Moten to the active roster and signed free-agent OG Julian Vandervelde (Buccaneers) to the practice squad Tuesday, Oct. 2, and released LB Brian Rolle and LS Kyle Nelson in corresponding moves.

Dallas Cowboys LB Bruce Carter (hip) left the Week 4 game against the Chicago Bears briefly due to a hip injury, although he was able to return and finish the game.

LB | Lavonte David | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Injury, Fantasy
Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Lavonte David (wrist) had a strong game in the Week 4 loss against the Washington Redskins, as he continues to give the team good production. He racked up 14 tackles, including three for losses. That happened while he was dealing with a wrist injury which forced him out briefly, and caused him to get X-rays afterward. Those results are not known.

LB | Colin McCarthy | Tennessee Titans | Injury
Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak said the team is hoping LB Colin McCarthy (ankle) will be able to participate in at least individual drills during practice Wednesday, Oct. 3.

The Denver Broncos have activated LB Joe Mays from the Reserve/Suspended list.

LB | James Harrison | Pittsburgh Steelers | Injury
Pittsburgh Steelers LB James Harrison (knee) and SS Troy Polamalu (calf) participated in practice Monday, Oct. 1.

Atlanta Falcons CB Dominique Franks and CB Robert McClain filled in the past two games at nickel back while CB Christopher Owens (concussion) was out. He is expected to return this week, and he is likely to jump back into the starting nickel back role, bumping Franks and McClain back to reserve status.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB Eric Wright (head) is getting further evaluation on his head injury.

CB | Aaron Berry | New York Jets | Transaction, Free Agents
The New York Jets think that CB Aaron Berry could become their nickel or dime back once he learns the system, maybe in a week or two. Head coach Rex Ryan said they performed a thorough background check on Berry before signing the troubled corner. The team waived TE Dedrick Epps to make room on the roster for Berry.

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said CBs Nate Clements (calf) and Leon Hall (hamstring) have a good chance to play in Week 5.

New York Giants SS Kenny Phillips (knee) will likely miss Week 5 and be out multiple weeks. The injury is similar to the one OT David Diehl suffered in Week 2, and Diehl was forced to miss the last two games. Chicago Bears FS Chris Conte (shoulder) left the game in the second quarter of the Week 4 game Monday, Oct. 1, against the Dallas Cowboys. He entered the game with a shoulder injury, but it's uncertain if he aggravated that injury or left with a new ailment.

FS | Brandon Meriweather | Washington Redskins | Injury
Washington Redskins FS Brandon Meriweather (knee) is expected to miss at least one more week after re-injuring the medial collateral ligament and posterior cruciate ligament in a collision with WR Aldrick Robinson before the Week 4 game.

FS | M.D. Jennings | Green Bay Packers | Injury
Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy indicated the injury FS M.D. Jennings (shoulder) suffered in Week 4 is not considered serious.

FS | T.J. Ward | Cleveland Browns | Injury
Cleveland Browns FS T.J. Ward (thumb) recently underwent surgery to repair a broken thumb. Head coach Pat Shurmur said he believes Ward will be able to play Week 5.
