Terrelle Pryor failed to separate himself; Andre Brown has a busted wheel. What now?

Quarterback

QB | Terrelle Pryor | Oakland Raiders | Fantasy
Oakland Raiders QB Terrelle Pryor threw for just 31 yards Thursday, Aug. 29, in a 22-6 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Pryor lasted just one half in an attempt to lock down the starting quarterback job.

So much for being the Raiders' savior. Nothing is etched in stone yet, and it was the Seahawks defense, but let's face it. Pryor had a solid chance to lock down a starter job and he may have blown it. Pryor doesn't have much fantasy value until it's determined who has this job, and even then his value may not go up much.

QB | Matt Leinart | Buffalo Bills | Fantasy
Buffalo Bills QB Matt Leinart was 3 for 11 for 11 yards and was lifted after just five possessions in a 35-13 loss to the Detroit Lions on Thursday, Aug. 29.

If you have not had your fantasy draft yet, the obvious is clear: Do not draft this guy. In fact, stay away from any Bills quarterbacks, at least until the status of E.J. Manuel and Kevin Kolb are clearer. Leinart is not the option and may not even have a job after this debacle.

QB | Matt Simms | New York Jets | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
New York Jets QB Matt Simms, in competition for the No. 3 quarterback job behind Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith, threw for 285 yards and led four scoring drives as the Jets won 27-20 over the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, Aug. 29.

QB | Jason Campbell | Cleveland Browns | Injury, Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
Updating a previous item, the Cleveland Browns chose to hold QB Jason Campbell (illness) out of the game against the Chicago Bears Thursday, Aug. 29, due to flu-like symptoms. QB Brian Hoyer started in place of Campbell and QB Brandon Weeden, who was also being held out.

QB | Robert Griffin III | Washington Redskins | Injury, Fantasy
Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan said QB Robert Griffin III (knee) has received medical clearance to play Week 1.

Griffin was expected to play Week 1, but it is good that he has officially received clearance. Griffin should be seen as a No. 1 fantasy quarterback in all leagues.

QB | EJ Manuel | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills QB EJ Manuel (knee) threw "a lot" of balls in warmups before their preseason game Thursday, Aug. 29. He wasn't moving around much, though. He's still up in the air for Week 1 against the New England Patriots.

Jeff Tuel is ahead to start in Week 1 at the moment, but that could change. Figure on waiting until the last minute on whether to downgrade any of the Bills' skill players.

Running Back

RB | Andre Brown | New York Giants | Injury, Fantasy
Updating previous reports, New York Giants RB Andre Brown (leg) said he has a tiny crack in his left fibula. It's the same leg he broke last season. He doesn't believe he'll need to go on the short-term Injured Reserve.

The team will probably be cautious since it's the same leg he broke last season and the emergence of David Wilson. There's no real reason to rush Brown back. Four-to-six weeks is probably a starting point.

RB | Jonathan Stewart | Carolina Panthers | Fantasy
Updating previous reports, Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (ankles) has grimaced in pain, even after slight exertion. It's possible that he could miss the entire season.

Obviously, this increases the value of DeAngelo Williams, who becomes a high-end RB3 and in some cases a RB2, and rookie Kenjon Barner in deeper leagues. Until there is more clarity on Stewart, he is still worth a late round pick in the case that he is able to get back into the lineup this year.

Tight End

TE | Rob Gronkowski | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
The New England Patriots are considering adding TE Rob Gronkowski (back, forearm) to their roster and not keeping him on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Gronkowski still likely would not be able to play until late September at the earliest.

Gronkowski would not be allowed to practice until after Week 6 if he is on the PUP list, so adding Gronkowski to their roster would allow him to practice at any point. He is still expected to miss the first few games of the season. He should still be considered a risky No. 1 fantasy tight end, but owners would need a strong No. 2 tight end to fill in while Gronkowski is out.
