He is scheduled to rejoin the team in New York Monday, Sept. 9, but the severity of the injury is unknown. "He aggravated it swinging," manager Davey Johnson said. "He comes and hits early and then he hits in BP and then he comes back in here and hits more. Hopefully, he'll figure out what it is and treat it and he'll meet us in New York. I was a little upset that he keeps swinging instead of just resting and playing. He's still young and exuberant and has his own routine. Hopefully he'll get fixed and be fine in New York."

Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison (shoulder, back, elbow) has been diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome in his right shoulder and will undergo surgery to alleviate the issue Monday, Sept. 9. The procedure, which will require the removal of the upper left rib, will be performed in Dallas by Dr. Greg Pearl. Harrison is expected to meet with team back specialist Dr. Drew Dossett the following week but has had to limit rehab work recently to give it time to rest.

The good news is that Harrison's surgery involves his non-throwing shoulder. He was scheduled to miss the remainder of the 2013 season anyway because of previous surgeries to fix a herniated disc in his back. He expects to be at 100 percent by spring training.

It was Petit's first career complete game and he struck out seven batters while only throwing 95 pitches.

RP | Mariano Rivera | New York Yankees | Fantasy,
New York Yankees RP Mariano Rivera may not be available to pitch in a save situation Friday, Sept. 6, and RP David Robertson said he's unlikely to be available, too. Rivera has thrown each of the last three nights, including a four-out save Wednesday, Sept. 4. Robertson has tossed pitches in the last two games. Manager Joe Girardi said he'll go with matchups in the ninth in a save situation. Only RPs Joba Chamberlain and Adam Warren have recorded saves aside from Rivera and Robertson this year. Rivera blew his sixth save of the season Thursday, Sept. 5.
