Quarterback

QB | Geno Smith | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
New York Jets QB Geno Smith (ankle) fully participated in practice Monday, Sept. 9.

QB | Terrelle Pryor | Oakland Raiders | Fantasy
Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen said QB Terrelle Pryor will be the team's starting quarterback Week 2.

QB | Blaine Gabbert | Jacksonville Jaguars | Injury, Fantasy
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley said QB Blaine Gabbert (hand) will not play Week 2 because of the hand injury he suffered Week 1.

Chad Henne is expected to start against the Oakland Raiders. We don't recommend starting him, though, given the lack of offensive playmakers in Jacksonville. However, Henne had nice chemistry with Cecil Shorts last year, so that could raise the speedy receiver's value in the short term.

QB | Tony Romo | Dallas Cowboys | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (ribs) has been diagnosed with bruised ribs but should not miss any practice time and should play Week 2.

This injury should not affect Romo's ability to play against Kansas City. He should be started in all fantasy leagues this week.

QB | Ben Roethlisberger | Pittsburgh Steelers | Fantasy
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger became the 35th quarterback in league history to reach the 30,000-yard plateau. He accomplished the feat during the team's Sunday, Sept. 8 game against the Tennessee Titans.

QB | Brandon Weeden | Cleveland Browns | Fantasy
Cleveland Browns QB Brandon Weeden absorbed 16 hits, and he was sacked six times, in the Week 1 loss against the Miami Dolphins. Weeden was also picked off three times.

The Browns will need to protect Weeden better if he is going to stay healthy enough to make it through the season. At this point, Weeden should only be used as a QB2 in fantasy leagues which require two signal callers. At best, he is a Top 25 option at his position.

Running Back

RB | Brandon Bolden | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots RB Brandon Bolden (knee) was inactive in Week 1 due to a knee injury, but he could be a top candidate to replace RB Shane Vereen (wrist) as the team's "passing back." RB Leon Washington is the potential next man up with RB LeGarrette Blount not being a realistic option for the passing game.

Bolden should be your first target over Blount because of Bolden's ability to catch passes. The upside for Bolden is much greater, as well, but how much he plays in Week 2 this Thursday night against the New York Jets will depend on his knee injury.

RB | Chris Ivory | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (thumb) fully participated in practice Monday, Sept. 9.

RB | David Wilson | New York Giants | Fantasy
New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin will not commit to RB David Wilson as the team's starting running back after his fumbling issues Week 1.

Wilson did have trouble holding on the ball Week 1 but should still be considered the favorite to start Week 2. Wilson likely will on a short leash during the game and should be seen as a weak play for fantasy owners.

RB | Lamar Miller | Miami Dolphins | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
Miami Dolphins RBs Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas split the snaps in Week 1. Miller had 36, and Thomas had 32.

RB | Bilal Powell | New York Jets | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
New York Jets RB Bilal Powell played 47 snaps, and RB Chris Ivory played 24 in Week 1.

RB | Jonathan Dwyer | Pittsburgh Steelers | Transaction, Fantasy
The Pittsburgh Steelers will re-sign RB Jonathan Dwyer.

He's worth a speculative add. Isaac Redman fumbled and didn't do much in Week 1. Felix Jones didn't see a carry, and LaRod Stephens-Howling (knee) is out for the season. Dwyer could step right in and have a prominent role.

RB | Shonn Greene | Tennessee Titans | Injury, Fantasy
Tennessee Titans RB Shonn Greene (knee) left the game Sunday, Sept. 8, against the Pittsburgh Steelers with an apparent knee injury. According to Titansinsider.com, Titans coach Mike Munchak later told media the injury was not serious.

Chris Johnson will get the bulk of the carries in Tennessee until he goes down, so Greene was strictly a backup. However, if Greene cannot see game action for a spell then Jackie Battle will likely take over. If Battle is available, you may want to pick him up and stash him on your bench as backup.

RB | Jamaal Charles | Kansas City Chiefs | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous story, Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (quadriceps) suffered a quad injury after being stepped on but is expected to be fine, according to Charles and head coach Andy Reid.

RB | Fred Jackson | Buffalo Bills | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills RB C.J. Spiller managed just 41 rushing yards on 17 carries, and he also lost a fumble, in Week 1 against the New England Patriots. Spiller's struggles gave RB Fred Jackson more of an opportunity. Jackson ended up with 13 carries for 67 yards, and he added a team-high 41 receiving yards on four receptions.

It is too early to hit the panic button, but this is not what fantasy owners expected from their early-round fantasy pick. Spiller will look to get on track in Week 2 against the visiting Carolina Panthers.

Wide Receiver

WR | Jeremy Kerley | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley (concussion) did not participate in practice Monday, Sept. 9, because of a concussion. Kerley suffered the injury during the team's Week 1 game but was allowed to return after he passed the concussion protocol.

WR | Stephen Hill | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
New York Jets WR Stephen Hill (knee) fully participated in practice Monday, Sept. 9.

WR | Santonio Holmes | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
New York Jets WR Santonio Holmes (foot) was limited during practice Monday, Sept. 9.

WR | Danny Amendola | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (groin) was limited during practice Monday, Sept. 9.

WR | Dez Bryant | Dallas Cowboys | Injury, Fantasy
Updating previous reports, Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (foot) said he is not sure if he will be able to practice Wednesday, Sept. 11, but does expect to play Week 2.

Bryant's status is still uncertain for Week 2, so owners will have to monitor his rehab during the week. If he is able to play, he should be considered as a low-end No. 1 wide receiver but could be limited by the injury.

WR | Mike Wallace | Miami Dolphins | Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace was unhappy with not being targeted in the first half of the team's Week 1 game and finishing the game with only four targets. Wallace did not talk after the game because he did not want to throw the coaches under the bus.

WR | Cordarrelle Patterson | Minnesota Vikings | Fantasy
Minnesota Viking head coach Leslie Frazier said WR Cordarrelle Patterson is fully healthy and he only played five snaps in Week 1 due to a coach's decision.

WR | Kendall Wright | Tennessee Titans | Fantasy
Tennessee Titans WR Kendall Wright played just 19 of the 67 offensive snaps in Week 1.

WR | Roddy White | Atlanta Falcons | Injury, Fantasy
Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White (ankle) admitted he's not himself due to a high ankle sprain he suffered in the preseason. "They wanted me in certain areas to do certain things so that they couldn't just bracket guys," White said. "It's hard to cut and do just about everything at the position."

White basically admitted to being somewhat of a decoy in Week 1. He's never missed a game in his NFL career, and playing through this injury may not be the smartest thing. Keep an eye on his status, and treat him like a matchup play right now. It's hard to say that about a WR1, but he's very limited right now.

WR | Reggie Wayne | Indianapolis Colts | Fantasy
Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne passed Steve Largent for No. 13 on the NFL's career list for yards receiving with his performance against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, Sept. 8. Wayne, who had eight catches for 96 yards, now has 13,159 yards. Largent had 13,089.

WR | Travis Benjamin | Cleveland Browns | Injury, Fantasy
Cleveland Browns WR Travis Benjamin (thigh) left the locker room after the Week 1 game against the Miami Dolphins with his right thigh wrapped while walking gingerly.

WR | Marquise Goodwin | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills WR Marquise Goodwin (hand) suffered a right hand injury in the first half of the Week 1 game against the New England Patriots and he did not return. Head coach Doug Marrone did not have an update on Goodwin's condition after the game.

WR | A.J. Green | Cincinnati Bengals | Injury, Fantasy
Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (finger) posted nine receptions for 162 yards and two touchdowns (2, 45) in the Week 1 loss against the Chicago Bears. The yardage total was the most by a Bengals receiver in a season opener, and it was the 10th time in franchise history that a receiver posted at least 100 yards. Head coach Marvin Lewis said after the game that Green suffered a finger injury at one point, but he is fine. Green had fingers taped during the game.

It was a great performance for fantasy owners. Green will look to carry the momentum into Week 2 on Monday Night Football when the Pittsburgh Steelers come to town.

Tight End

TE | Zach Sudfeld | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots TE Zach Sudfeld (hamstring) was limited during practice Monday, Sept. 9.

TE | Rob Gronkowski | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (back, forearm) was limited during practice Monday, Sept. 9.

Gronk isn't expected to suit up in Week 2, either, and with Zach Sudfeld (hamstring) dinged up, the Pats may rely more on their receivers again. Julian Edelman, who had a big Week 1, should be snagged off the waiver wire immediately.

TE | Dwayne Allen | Indianapolis Colts | Injury, Fantasy
Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (hip) left the game Sunday, Sept. 8 against the Oakland Raiders due to a hip injury suffered in the second half. He did not return to the game. Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said the extent of Allen's injury won't be known until the results of an MRI are known.

Place Kicker

PK | Shaun Suisham | Pittsburgh Steelers | Injury, Free Agents, Fantasy
Pittsburgh Steelers PK Shaun Suisham (hamstring) suffered a hamstring injury in Week 1 that could keep him out a few weeks. Free-agent PK Shayne Graham (Browns) is an option to replace him.

PK | Robbie Gould | Chicago Bears | Fantasy
Chicago Bears PK Robbie Gould had three extra points in the Week 1 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, and he set a franchise record with a 58-yard field goal.

Dating back to 2011, Gould has converted 11 straight field goals from 50-plus yards. He remains a must-start fantasy option going forward.
