Quarterback

QB | Josh Freeman | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Fantasy
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman's agent accused the team of leaking confidential fine information. "AND… Another breach of personal and confidential employee information: releasing info of alleged team violations w associated fines," agent Erik Burkhardt said via Twitter.

QB | Christian Ponder | Minnesota Vikings | Injury, Fantasy
Minnesota Vikings QB Christian Ponder (rib) is dealing with a fractured rib near his heart, and beat writer Judd Zulgad speculates the injury could keep Ponder out three to four games as a result.

It appears Matt Cassel is in line to start for a while, but he is nothing more than a low-end QB2 in most fantasy formats.

QB | Terrelle Pryor | Oakland Raiders | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Oakland Raiders QB Terrelle Pryor (concussion) went through a full practice session Wednesday, Oct. 2.

QB | Rusty Smith | Tennessee Titans | Injury, Fantasy
Tennessee Titans QB Rusty Smith will be promoted from the practice squad to serve as the backup to QB Ryan Fitzpatrick with QB Jake Locker (hip, knee) out. Locker doesn't have a timetable for when he'll return to action, and he was walking with a limp and a sleeve on his injured leg Wednesday, Oct. 2.

QB | Tony Romo | Dallas Cowboys | Fantasy
Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo said he has made a change to his throwing motion this year that has made him more effective. "Well, I think I'm doing a couple of things different, a couple of things I worked on this offseason that have allowed certain things in different situations to be a little bit easier," Romo said when asked about the difference in his game from last year to this year. "I found something pretty important, I think, in the throwing motion that's allowed me to throw from a little bit different position. That's calmed certain things down. I think a lot of things go into play. We're getting good offensive line play. A lot of different things come into play with that stuff." He is fourth in the league with a passer rating of 105.0 and has gone 110-for-152 for 1,015 yards, eight touchdowns and one interception in four weeks.

Romo is performing as a solid QB1 this season and has another fine matchup against the Denver Broncos this weekend. Continue to roll with him.

Running Back

RB | Zac Stacy | St. Louis Rams | Fantasy
St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said the team will probably go with a committee approach at running back in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and RB Zac Stacy could receive his chance after RBs Daryl Richardson, Isaiah Pead and Benny Cunningham haven't been very productive. "I think Zac's done a really good job since he's been here," QB Sam Bradford said. "He's a very talented runner. He's a powerful guy. He's got great vision. He makes cuts in the hole that are quick and decisive, so I'm excited to see him out there." Stacy has only one carry for four yards on the season against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1. He was inactive in Weeks 2 and 3. The rest of the team's running backs haven't been good in pass protection through four weeks, and although he hasn't proven himself in the NFL yet, Stacy had a reputation as a good pass blocker coming out of college.

Many expect Cunningham to be the next man up in the Rams backfield, but it could easily be Stacy, as well. He's the cheaper option off the waiver wire this week. It wouldn't hurt to stash him and see how this plays out this weekend.

RB | Ahmad Bradshaw | Indianapolis Colts | Injury, Fantasy
Indianapolis Colts RB Ahmad Bradshaw (neck) is still searching for answers to his neck issue. Bradshaw has visited Dr. Robert Watkins.

The idea that Bradshaw is still looking for answers to his neck issue is not ideal. As long as Bradshaw continues to have issues with the neck, he will have no fantasy value.

RB | Chris Ivory | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) is participating in practice Thursday, Oct. 3.

RB | David Wilson | New York Giants | Fantasy
New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin confirmed RBs David Wilson and Brandon Jacobs are his one-two punch at running back.

While that's nice and dandy, we have seen very little production out of the duo. Both should still be owned in most leagues, and Wilson makes a good buy-low candidate.

RB | Stevan Ridley | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots RB Stevan Ridley (knee) is out of practice again Thursday, Oct. 3.

RB | Mike Goodson | New York Jets | Fantasy
New York Jets RB Mike Goodson is hopeful of making his regular season debut in Week 5 against the Atlanta Falcons Monday, Oct. 7, after missing training camp and the first four weeks of the regular season due to a violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy. Head coach Rex Ryan was non-committal about using Goodson in Week 5, saying Goodson is not in football shape.

RB | Marshawn Lynch | Seattle Seahawks | Injury, Fantasy
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (not injury related) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 2, presumably due to rest.

Lynch has been resting during mid-week practices previously to keep fresh. Expect Lynch to play in the Week 5 game against the Indianapolis Colts.

RB | Arian Foster | Houston Texans | Injury, Fantasy
Houston Texans RBs Arian Foster (back, thumb) and Ben Tate (shoulder) were each able to fully participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

RB | Jamaal Charles | Kansas City Chiefs | Injury, Fantasy
Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (toe) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 2, due to discomfort in his toes.

The injury doesn't sound like something which will keep him sidelined, so start your fantasy stud as you normally would.

RB | Brandon Bolden | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots RB Brandon Bolden (knee) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

RB | Fred Jackson | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills RB Fred Jackson (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2, and is probable for Week 5.

Jackson is a risky play because of not only the injury but uncertainty in the backfield.

RB | C.J. Spiller | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills RB C.J. Spiller (ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2, and is questionable for Week 5.

Spiller has said all along he would be a go. He is a risky start because he may be limited with the ankle injury.

RB | Chris Ogbonnaya | Cleveland Browns | Injury, Fantasy
Cleveland Browns RB Chris Ogbonnaya (thigh) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 2, and is probable for Week 5.

RB | Johnathan Franklin | Green Bay Packers | Injury, Fantasy
Green Bay Packers RB Johnathan Franklin (foot) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Franklin should be owned in deeper leagues, as he may split some time with Eddie Lacy. At this point it is tough to count on Franklin because there is no way to know what his work load will be.

RB | Eddie Lacy | Green Bay Packers | Injury, Fantasy
Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (concussion) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Lacy looks to be a full go and is a must-start in all fantasy football leagues.

RB | Darren McFadden | Oakland Raiders | Injury, Fantasy
Oakland Raiders RB Darren McFadden (hamstring) was not participating during the media-access portion of practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

RB | Mark Ingram | New Orleans Saints | Injury, Fantasy
New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram (toe) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

RB | LaMichael James | San Francisco 49ers | Fantasy
San Francisco 49ers RB LaMichael James showed some frustration on his Twitter account on his lack of touches in the team's Week 4 game against the St. Louis Rams. James had zero yards on only three carries against the Rams.

Unfortunately for James, he's behind Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter on the depth chart and is unlikely to see meaningful totes unless one of them is injured. James should only be owned as running back depth in the deepest of leagues.

Wide Receiver

WR | Miles Austin | Dallas Cowboys | Injury, Fantasy
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) is not participating in practice Thursday, Oct. 3.

With Austin missing Week 4, and not practicing to this point in preparation for Week 5, his status for this week’s game is in question. Even if he can play, he is likely to be limited.

WR | Calvin Johnson | Detroit Lions | Injury, Fantasy
Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 3.

As the story points out, it has been customary for Johnson to not practice during the week. Keep an eye on his status Friday and into the weekend, but at this point, expect him to play.

WR | Eric Decker | Denver Broncos | Injury, Fantasy
Denver Broncos WR Eric Decker (ankle) said he is sitting out of practice as a precaution and intends to play in Week 5.

He should be good to go for your lineups as a WR3.

WR | Austin Collie | New England Patriots | Transaction, Free Agents, Fantasy
The New England Patriots signed free-agent WR Austin Collie (49ers) to an undisclosed deal.

Collie could have some fantasy value, depending on how quickly he can pick up the offense. The Pats' offense is very reliant on timing. The quicker he grows a rapport with Tom Brady, the quicker he thrusts into fantasy relevance.

WR | Mike Wallace | Miami Dolphins | Fantasy
Miami Dolphins WR Mike Wallace has lined up on the right side 90 percent of the time so far this season, rather than moving around and seeing time in the slot.

There was word that Wallace would be moved around, seeing time in the slot, but that has yet to materialize so far. He remains a decent low-end WR2 or flex fantasy play, but has the potential to do so much more.

WR | Andre Johnson | Houston Texans | Injury, Fantasy
Houston Texans WR Andre Johnson (rest) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 2, but his absence was not injury related, and presumably just rest.

WR | Kenbrell Thompkins | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots WR Kenbrell Thompkins (shoulder) was considered a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

WR | Aaron Dobson | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots WR Aaron Dobson (neck) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

WR | Danny Amendola | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (groin) was able to practice Wednesday, Oct. 2, but he was listed as a limited participant.

WR | Brandon Gibson | Miami Dolphins | Injury, Fantasy
Miami Dolphins WR Brandon Gibson (ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

WR | Marlon Brown | Baltimore Ravens | Injury, Fantasy
Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (thigh) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

WR | Brandon Stokley | Baltimore Ravens | Injury, Fantasy
Baltimore Ravens DT Terrence Cody (knee), C Ryan Jensen (foot), LB Albert McClellan (shoulder), WR Brandon Stokley (thigh), WR Deonte Thompson (head) and CB Lardarius Webb (thigh) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

WR | Kenny Britt | Tennessee Titans | Fantasy
Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt (neck, ribs) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

WR | Brandon Marshall | Chicago Bears | Injury, Fantasy
Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall (foot) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Marshall not practicing, especially early in the week, is becoming a regular occurrence. There is nothing to suggest he won’t play in Week 5 at this point.

WR | Stevie Johnson | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills WR Stevie Johnson (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2, and is probable for Week 5.

Johnson looks to be a full go, get him in your starting lineups as you normally would.

WR | Jeremy Kerley | New York Jets | Fantasy
New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said WRs Jeremy Kerley and Clyde Gates will start Week 5 if WR Santonio Holmes (hamstring) and WR Stephen Hill (concussion) are not able to play.

WR | Santonio Holmes | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said WR Santonio Holmes (hamstring) and WR Stephen Hill (concussion) have not been ruled out at this point.

WR | Dwayne Harris | Dallas Cowboys | Injury, Fantasy
Dallas Cowboys LB Bruce Carter (foot), CB Morris Claiborne (shoulder), WR Dwayne Harris (hip) and DE DeMarcus Ware (back) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 2.

WR | Lance Moore | New Orleans Saints | Injury, Fantasy
New Orleans Saints WR Lance Moore (hand) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

WR | Cecil Shorts | Jacksonville Jaguars | Injury, Fantasy
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (groin) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2, with what is being called a minor groin injury.

It is good news that the injury is being called minor. There is no reason to think this will affect Shorts’ availability in the team’s Week 5 game, but double check his status later in the week.

WR | Jacoby Jones | Baltimore Ravens | Injury, Fantasy
Baltimore Ravens WR Jacoby Jones (knee) is participating in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2, but appears to be limited.

It's unclear if Jones has a realistic shot to play this weekend; we'll know more on that in the next few days. When he does return, it will likely lessen the impact Marlon Brown will have for his fantasy owners, though.

Tight End

TE | Vernon Davis | San Francisco 49ers | Injury, Fantasy
San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis (hamstring) was able to take part in a full practice session Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Davis looks to be a go for the Week 5 game against the Houston Texans barring any setbacks. If you normally rely upon Davis for fantasy purposes, feel confident using him in the active lineup.

TE | Owen Daniels | Houston Texans | Injury, Fantasy
Houston Texans TE Owen Daniels (rest) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 2, but his absence was not injury related.

TE | Rob Gronkowski | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (back, forearm) was able to return to the practice field Wednesday, Oct. 2, but he was listed as a limited participant.

TE | Martellus Bennett | Chicago Bears | Injury, Fantasy
Chicago Bears TE Martellus Bennett (shoulder) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.

TE | Jermichael Finley | Green Bay Packers | Injury, Fantasy
Green Bay Packers TE Jermichael Finley (concussion) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 2, and said he expects to play against the Detroit Lions in Week 5. "It took several days," Finley said. "I took my bye week, rested up a little, came back in Monday and did several tests, went to the hospital and did a couple tests. It's a long haul. You have to do several things to get back, and you have to respect the league for doing it. It's much respect from me."

It's great news that Finley is practicing fully on a Wednesday. Unless he suffers a setback later this week, you should have him in your starting lineup if he's playing.

Place Kicker

PK | Billy Cundiff | Cleveland Browns | Injury, Fantasy
Cleveland Browns OG Oniel Cousins (chest), PK Billy Cundiff (thigh) and QB Brandon Weeden (thumb) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 2, and are probable for Week 5.
