Quarterback

QB | Michael Vick | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury, Fantasy
Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick (hamstring) is doing individual work Tuesday, Oct. 15.

QB | EJ Manuel | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone said QB EJ Manuel (knee) will begin his rehab from knee surgery this week but there is no timetable for his return.

QB | Carson Palmer | Arizona Cardinals | Fantasy
Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said he believes QB Carson Palmer is still the team's best option at quarterback even though he has struggled with interceptions. Keim said Palmer has handled adversity well during games but understands that Palmer needs to be more consistent with his play.

QB | Matt Schaub | Houston Texans | Injury, Fantasy
Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said QB Matt Schaub (ankle) is receiving injections in his injured ankle. Kubiak indicated the injury does not appear to be serious.

QB | Blaine Gabbert | Jacksonville Jaguars | Injury, Fantasy
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert (hamstring) will miss Week 7 against the San Diego Chargers, giving QB Chad Henne another start. Head coach Gus Bradley said Gabbert could be out past Week 7, too. "Blaine will throw on the side (this week)," Bradley said. "We'll see where it is. It is an injury that may take a couple weeks. We'll get him to start throwing on the side. We'll see when Blaine comes back but right now Chad is our quarterback for the San Diego game."

Henne had a decent day against the Denver Broncos in Week 6 despite throwing two interceptions and no touchdowns. Against SD, he makes for another alluring bye-week filler at the QB position.

QB | Thaddeus Lewis | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone said QB EJ Manuel (knee) is "ahead of schedule" in his rehab.

We're not exactly sure what this means just yet, but keep tabs on Manuel's practice status in the next few weeks. Thaddeus Lewis looked good in his debut in Week 6, so he should continue to start in Manuel's absence.

QB | Nick Foles | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said QB Michael Vick's (hamstring) injury status heading into the Week 7 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys will help him decide if QB Nick Foles receives another start. Kelly said he would "evaluate everything" this week. "I was talking about Michael's health," Kelly said. "That's what we're going to evaluate. All my decisions are made -- whether it's James Casey with a groin or Mike a hamstring or Chris Polk with a shoulder -- all our decisions on who's going to play are based on health." Kelly seems resigned to let the week play out and see how Vick performs in practice this week.

QB | Jake Locker | Tennessee Titans | Injury, Fantasy
Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak said QB Jake Locker (hip, knee) will increase his rehab work and football activities but still has a long way to go before being available to play Week 7.

QB | Matt Flynn | Buffalo Bills | Transaction, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, the Buffalo Bills officially signed QB Matt Flynn (Raiders) Monday, Oct. 14. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Running Back

RB | Steven Jackson | Atlanta Falcons | Injury, Fantasy
Atlanta Falcons RB Steven Jackson (hamstring) is not practicing Tuesday, Oct. 15.

RB | Jason Snelling | Atlanta Falcons | Injury, Fantasy
Atlanta Falcons RB Jason Snelling (concussion) is practicing Tuesday, Oct. 15.

RB | Jackie Battle | Tennessee Titans | Injury, Fantasy
Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak said Monday, Oct. 14, that RB Jackie Battle (neck) should be able to play in Week 7. Battle was active in Week 6, but only as an emergency option with RB Shonn Greene (knee) inactive.

RB | David Wilson | New York Giants | Injury, Fantasy
New York Giants RB David Wilson (neck) visited a neck specialist Monday, Oct. 14, and he does not require surgery for his injury, according to a source. Wilson is expected to be sidelined approximately three to four weeks.

With Wilson sidelined, Brandon Jacobs and Da'Rel Scott will continue to serve as the team's top two RBs. For fantasy purposes, only Jacobs is worth a look as a low-end RB2 or flex play going forward.

RB | DeMarco Murray | Dallas Cowboys | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (knee) believes there is a chance he could play Week 7 despite suffering a sprained medial collateral ligament Week 6. Murray said his status for the game will depend on how he feels Friday, Oct. 18.

Owners should monitor his participation in practice this week and the inactive list if he is not ruled out before the game. There is a chance the team holds him out to give him more time to heal. If he is active for the game, he likely will be limited by the injury.

RB | Brandon Jacobs | New York Giants | Injury, Fantasy
New York Giants RBs Brandon Jacobs (hamstring) and Da'Rel Scott (hamstring) both missed practice Monday, Oct. 14, with hamstring injuries, leaving RB Michael Cox as the only runner to practice. RB David Wilson (neck) is receiving a second opinion on his neck injury. Jacobs is expected to make it back to practice by Thursday, Oct. 17. However, Cox was told by coaches that he'd play in Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings. He's been active in four games this season but hasn't had a single carry.

Cox's playing time will depend on whether Scott is healthy enough to play on Monday night. Jacobs looked healthy and in shape in his start in Week 6 on Thursday night. He'll be a popular waiver wire addition this week.

RB | Jonathan Stewart | Carolina Panthers | Injury, Fantasy
Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (ankle) said he wants to practice for more than a week before returning to the field. He said he is managing the pain and soreness in his ankle but still has his speed and explosiveness. Stewart said he plans to play at some point this season.

It appears DeAngelo Williams has a hold on the starting running back job, so Stewart may return as a backup. Owners should look at Stewart as a flex option or as a handcuff to Williams. Stewart could also be used as depth at running back for some fantasy owners.

Wide Receiver

WR | Roddy White | Atlanta Falcons | Injury, Fantasy
Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White (hamstring, ankle) and OT Sam Baker (knee) are not practicing Tuesday, Oct. 15.

WR | Reggie Wayne | Indianapolis Colts | Fantasy
Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne had five grabs for 88 yards in the Week 6 game against the San Diego Chargers Monday, Oct. 14, including his 1,000th career reception. Wayne now has at least three receptions in 70 straight games, which is the longest active streak in the NFL.

WR | T.Y. Hilton | Indianapolis Colts | Injury, Fantasy
Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (ankle, foot) was able to return to the Week 6 game against the San Diego Chargers Monday, Oct. 14, in the third quarter. He limped off in the final minute of the second quarter due to an apparent ankle or foot ailment.

WR | Larry Fitzgerald | Arizona Cardinals | Injury, Fantasy
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring) was listed as a limited participant in practice Monday, Oct. 14.

More will be known on his status Wednesday. Fantasy owners should start making alternate plans for Fitzgerald on the short week, since he suffered a new injury to his right hamstring Sunday. He has also been dealing with left hamstring issues for the better part of the season so far, and a snaps restriction Thursday wouldn't be shocking to see.

WR | Santonio Holmes | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
New York Jets WR Santonio Holmes (hamstring) is considered a long shot to play in the Week 7 game against the New England Patriots. He has not practiced since Sept. 30.

WR | Clyde Gates | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, New York Jets WR Clyde Gates (shoulder) was awaiting MRI results Monday, Oct. 14, for the shoulder injury he suffered in Week 6. He said his injury is "painful but not that bad," and he hopes to play in Week 7 against the New England Patriots provided the MRI shows there is nothing that will sideline him.

WR | Hakeem Nicks | New York Giants | Fantasy
The New York Giants are not currently shopping WR Hakeem Nicks on the trade block, according to a source with knowledge of the team's plans.

If Nicks is traded, Reuben Randle will have significant value and would probably be a must-start in most fantasy football leagues. Randle has value as a WR3 or 4 right now in deeper leagues.

WR | Randall Cobb | Green Bay Packers | Injury, Fantasy
Updating previous report, Green Bay Packers WR Randall Cobb (leg) is expected to miss six to eight weeks because of a fractured fibula he suffered Week 6.

Cobb owners can consider dropping him in their leagues because he may not be back until the last month of the season. Owners in deeper leagues should look to add Jarrett Boykin because his role in the passing game probably will increase substantially with Cobb out with a long-term injury.

WR | Percy Harvin | Seattle Seahawks | Injury, Fantasy
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin (hip) will not participate in practice this week but has been running hard and will work out.

WR | Cecil Shorts | Jacksonville Jaguars | Injury, Fantasy
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (shoulder) was no longer wearing a sling on his right arm Monday, Oct. 14, and he said he will try to play through pain in Week 7 against the San Diego Chargers. "I'm not a sling guy," he said. "I'm not going to walk around looking handicapped when I'm not handicapped. Maurice Jones-Drew always talks about being a pain freak and I kind of like the pain. I'm not going to be walking around being slinged up about it." Shorts injured the SC joint in his right shoulder.

If shorts plays against the Bolts, he should be a solid starting option against a weak Chargers secondary.

WR | Kenny Britt | Tennessee Titans | Fantasy
Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak said the team is still trying to figure out WR Kenny Britt's role in the offense. Britt was on the field for only two snaps during the team's Week 6 game, and Munchak said Britt needs to make plays to get more playing time.

WR | Calvin Johnson | Detroit Lions | Injury, Fantasy
Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said WR Calvin Johnson (knee) was dealing with some knee soreness after the team's Week 6 game and his status for Week 7 is uncertain at this point.

Owners will have to monitor Johnson's practice participation this week to get an idea if he will be able to play Week 7. He should be started in all leagues if he is active for the game.

Tight End

TE | Jermichael Finley | Green Bay Packers | Injury, Fantasy
The Green Bay Packers were forced to use mostly two-tight end, two-receiver, one-back sets when WRs James Jones (shin) and Randall Cobb (knee) were injured and left the Week 6 game. TE Jermichael Finley had all three of his catches for 75 yards in the second half of the contest with Jones and Cobb absent, meaning he could take on a much bigger role moving forward. "I don't know that his role will change," offensive coordinator Tom Clements said. "He's always been a focal point of the offense. Depending if Randall or James or both aren't in there then obviously he may get more opportunities, but we try to get him as many opportunities as we can based on how the defense is playing. Whoever's in there is going to have to come up and make plays. I'm certain he'll make his share."

WR Jarrett Boykin dropped two passes and caught just one of his six targets after Jones and Cobb left the game. The Packers may add WR Reggie Dunn off the practice squad or sign WR Tavarres King off the practice squad of the Denver Broncos. QB Aaron Rodgers had his lowest completion percentage (53.1 percent on 17 of 32 passing) against the Baltimore Ravens.

Finley should be expected to receive more targets with Cobb out, and Jorday Nelson will likely see a similar boost in value. The Packers may also have to rely more on handing the ball off to Eddie Lacy. Either way you look at it, it would seem that this hurts the stock of Aaron Rodgers, too.

TE | Tony Gonzalez | Atlanta Falcons | Fantasy
The Atlanta Falcons are not going to trade TE Tony Gonzalez.

TE | Zach Miller | Seattle Seahawks | Injury, Fantasy
Seattle Seahawks TE Zach Miller (hamstring) was listed as a limited participant in practice Monday, Oct. 14.

TE | Jimmy Graham | New Orleans Saints | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, New Orleans Saints TE Jimmy Graham (foot) is still having his foot injury evaluated but there is a sense that he will be able to return after the team's Week 7 bye.

TE | Martellus Bennett | Chicago Bears | Injury, Fantasy
Chicago Bears TE Martellus Bennett (knee) did not participate in practice Monday, Oct. 14.

TE | Tony Scheffler | Detroit Lions | Injury, Fantasy
Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz did not rule out the possibility of TE Tony Scheffler (concussion) being placed on Injured Reserve.

TE | Marcedes Lewis | Jacksonville Jaguars | Injury, Fantasy
Jacksonville Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis (calf) said he will do some running drills Monday, Oct. 14, and hopes to play Week 7.
