QB | Matthew Stafford | Detroit Lions | Fantasy
Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford has sped up his release on his throws this season. He has been sacked nine times in 252 dropbacks, which equates to the second-lowest percentage in the league.
QB | Eli Manning | New York Giants | Fantasy
New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said QB Eli Manning won't be benched.
QB | Colin Kaepernick | San Francisco 49ers | Injury, Fantasy
San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick (foot) was able to practice in full Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Kaepernick is a solid low-end QB1 in all fantasy leagues heading into Week 7, despite the fact the Tennessee Titans rank 10th against the pass.
QB | Matt Schaub | Houston Texans | Injury, Fantasy
Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub (ankle, foot) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 19.
If Schaub is unable to start this week, T.J. Yates is likely to start, with Case Keenum serving as the backup. The Chiefs are unbeaten, and rank third in the NFL in passing defense. None of the Houston QBs are attractive from a fantasy perspective this week.
QB | Jake Locker | Tennessee Titans | Injury, Fantasy
Tennessee Titans QB Jake Locker (hip, knee) was listed as a limited participant for practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
If he cannot start in Week 7 against the San Francisco 49ers, QB Ryan Fitzpatrick would make another start. Neither is particularly attractive from a Fantasy perspective against a banged up, but still very stout defense.
QB | Robert Griffin III | Washington Redskins | Fantasy
Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III said he had the bye week to help him realize he has to use the talents given to him in order to be successful, hinting that he plans on running more often. In the team's Week 6 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, he ran nine times on zone read options and scrambles for 77 yards. The nine rushes was a third of his total carries all year. "Everyone wants me to slide and get out of bounds," he said. "I can't listen to that. It's not that you ignore it. I understand that people are concerned, but at the end of the day you have to go out and play with your instincts. I let my instincts take over as opposed to running out of bounds so everyone doesn't get mad at coach or mad at me. Just more instinctive running the ball and playing football."
QB | Blaine Gabbert | Jacksonville Jaguars | Injury, Fantasy
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
QB | Michael Vick | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury, Fantasy
Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Vick will not start in this week’s game. Nick Foles is a decent option if you need a fill-in for Vick.
QB | Thaddeus Lewis | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills QB Thaddeus Lewis (foot) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
QB | EJ Manuel | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills QB EJ Manuel (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
QB | Josh Freeman | Minnesota Vikings | Fantasy
Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said he expects that QB Josh Freeman will be the starting quarterback Week 7.
Freeman is working on learning the offense and appears to be on track to start this week. Freeman could be an option for desperate owners in all leagues looking for a quarterback. Freeman could be a No. 2 quarterback for owners in deeper leagues for the rest of the season.
RB | Brandon Jacobs | New York Giants | Injury, Fantasy
New York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs (hamstring) will practice Thursday, Oct. 17.
RB | C.J. Spiller | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills RB C.J. Spiller (ankle) sat out of practice Wednesday, Oct. 16, but did do some light individual work. He said he definitely feels like he's healing.
RB | Arian Foster | Houston Texans | Injury, Fantasy
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (chest, thumb) and RB Ben Tate (elbow) were each able to fully participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Start Foster and Tate as you normally would. Even though the Kansas City Chiefs, the Week 7 opponent, enters play unbeaten, the Chiefs rank just 23rd in the NFL against the rush, allowing 116 yards per game on the ground. The Houston offense might be even more ground-based than usual, too, with the quarterback situation unclear.
RB | Benny Cunningham | St. Louis Rams | Injury, Fantasy
St. Louis Rams RB Benny Cunningham (ankle) had his ankle on a "roll-about" Wednesday, Oct. 16, which is basically crutches on wheels. He ankle was also wrapped with ice, and his ailment appears to be the most serious on the injury report.
Zac Stacy's emergence as the lead back and Cunningham's injury has tempered the excitement surrounding him. He's only good for RB depth in deeper leagues.
RB | DeMarco Murray | Dallas Cowboys | Injury, Fantasy
Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray (knee) is preparing as if he will play in Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles. "I am running, doing some good things with (trainer) Britt (Brown). We haven't said which way, what we're going to do yet. I think it all depends on how comfortable I am. We were able to do some things today and it felt good," Murray said. Owner Jerry Jones said Murray could sit out this week and return in Week 8 to face the Detroit Lions.
Murray is probably being overly optimistic. The Cowboys won't rush him back, especially with his history of injuries and slow recoveries. Don't expect to be able to use him this weekend. Joseph Randle should see a large amount of work even if Murray miraculously plays.
RB | Maurice Jones-Drew | Jacksonville Jaguars | Injury, Fantasy
Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Check back as the week goes on, but there is nothing to indicate Jones-Drew won’t play in Week 7.
RB | Joique Bell | Detroit Lions | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions RB Joique Bell (ribs) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16. Bell is still dealing with pain and felt a rib "pop" in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns. X-rays on his ribs came back negative. Bell wanted to test his ribs Wednesday and will try using a chest protector in practice Thursday, Oct. 17, and will likely wear it in Week 7 if he plays. If he doesn't play, RB Mikel Leshoure will likely be active and serve as the backup to RB Reggie Bush.
Lower your expectations a bit if Bell plays through the pain. He remains more intriguing in point-per-reception affairs and as a handcuff to oft-injured Bush.
RB | Zac Stacy | St. Louis Rams | Injury, Fantasy
St. Louis Rams RB Zac Stacy (chest) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 16. It's become common for him to sit out on Wednesdays and then return to a limited practice Thursdays followed by a full practice Friday.
Stacy is the clear-cut lead back in St. Louis now after receiving 18 carries in Week 6. Monitor his status throughout the week, but if he's playing, he's a decent flex filler in most formats.
RB | Bilal Powell | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
New York Jets RB Bilal Powell (neck) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Powell insisted he was fine when he left the Week 6 game temporarily, and it looks like he will be. Continue to view Powell as a No. 3 fantasy running back.
RB | Chris Ivory | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Ivory should be good to go against the New England Patriots. Now that Mike Goodson (knee) is done for the year, Ivory is worth owning in deeper leagues as a handcuff to Bilal Powell.
RB | Steven Jackson | Atlanta Falcons | Injury, Fantasy
Atlanta Falcons RB Steven Jackson (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
RB | Jonathan Stewart | Carolina Panthers | Injury, Fantasy
Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (ankle) will not practice this week although he's eligible to be activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list. He said Tuesday, Oct. 15, that he likely needs another couple of weeks before he can return to a game.
RB | Marshawn Lynch | Seattle Seahawks | Injury, Fantasy
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (hip) should be good to go in the team's Week 7 game, according to head coach Pete Carroll.
Double check his status before kickoff, but get Lynch in to your lineups as you normally would.
RB | BenJarvus Green-Ellis | Cincinnati Bengals | Injury, Fantasy
Cincinnati Bengals RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis (illness) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
RB | Adrian Peterson | Minnesota Vikings | Fantasy
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (personal) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16, but is expected to practice Thursday, Oct. 17.
WR | Mike Williams | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Injury, Fantasy
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Williams (hamstring) was not at the portion of practice open to the media Thursday, Oct. 17.
WR | Santonio Holmes | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
New York Jets WR Santonio Holmes (hamstring) is not participating in practice Thursday, Oct. 17.
WR | Tandon Doss | Baltimore Ravens | Fantasy
Baltimore Ravens WR Tandon Doss has had timely receptions and impactful punt returns in the last four weeks. He has as many catches in the last two games as he did in his first two seasons in the league.
Doss has rededicated himself to the game of football and has a chance to emerge as the No. 2 receiver.
WR | Calvin Johnson | Detroit Lions | Injury, Fantasy
Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (knee) practiced Thursday, Oct. 17.
WR | Danny Amendola | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (head) is out of practice Thursday, Oct. 17.
WR | Percy Harvin | Seattle Seahawks | Injury, Fantasy
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin (hip) is scheduled to return to practice next week and should play sooner, rather than later.
You should have started picking him up by now. He's still available in a lot of leagues.
WR | Cecil Shorts | Jacksonville Jaguars | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (shoulder) said Wednesday, Oct. 16, he is still in a lot of pain, but is hopeful of playing in the Week 7 game against the San Diego Chargers.
As previously mentioned, Shorts is likely to be a game-time decision. Make plans to be without him despite a juicy matchup Sunday.
WR | Quinton Patton | San Francisco 49ers | Injury, Fantasy
San Francisco 49ers WR Quinton Patton (foot) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 16, and he has been ruled out for the Week 7 game against the Tennessee Titans.
WR | Wes Welker | Denver Broncos | Injury, Fantasy
Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker (ankle) was able to take part in a full practice session Wednesday, Oct. 16.
The Indianapolis Colts, the Week 7 opponent, rank fifth against the pass. However, are you benching Peyton Manning or any of his receivers in this huge Sunday night game? Didn't think so.
WR | Eric Decker | Denver Broncos | Injury, Fantasy
Denver Broncos WR Eric Decker (shoulder) was listed as a full participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Decker is a solid WR3/4 or flex play in all fantasy leagues, regardless of matchup. The Week 7 opponent, the Indianapolis Colts, rank fifth in the NFL against the pass, but you can't bench any of the receivers on Denver when they're healthy.
WR | Dwayne Harris | Dallas Cowboys | Injury, Fantasy
Dallas Cowboys WR Dwayne Harris (hip) practiced fully Wednesday, Oct. 16.
WR | Andre Johnson | Houston Texans | Injury, Fantasy
Houston Texans WR Andre Johnson (shin) was able to practice on a limited basis Wednesday, Oct. 16.
More will be known on Johnson's status later in the week. Johnson might be playing without starting QB Matt Schaub (ankle, foot), and the QB situation, coupled with facing a strong Kansas City Chiefs defense, makes him useful only as a low-end WR2 or must-start WR3 in most formats.
WR | Miles Austin | Dallas Cowboys | Injury, Fantasy
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Austin looks to finally be getting closer to full health with his hamstring. He didn't do much in his first game back in Week 6, although he nearly missed hauling in a touchdown pass. The matchup is juicy against the Philadelphia Eagles, but it'll be in the back of your mind how healthy he really is.
WR | Julian Edelman | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman (thigh) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
WR | Larry Fitzgerald | Arizona Cardinals | Injury, Fantasy
Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16, and is listed as probable for Week 7.
It appears like Fitzgerald will be able to play in the game despite his injury. He should be started in all leagues, but owners should lower their expectations because he struggled against the Seattle Seahawks last season and could be limited by the hamstring injury.
WR | Jeremy Kerley | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley (back) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 16.
WR | Roddy White | Atlanta Falcons | Fantasy
Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White (hamstring, ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Not good news for White owners. It is probably a long shot that White will play in Week 7, so start to plan ahead now and hope for the best.
WR | Justin Blackmon | Jacksonville Jaguars | Injury, Fantasy
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon (groin, hamstring) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16, but should be able to play Week 7.
WR | Stevie Johnson | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills WR Stevie Johnson (back) said his back is 80 to 85 percent healthy at this point.
WR | James Jones | Green Bay Packers | Injury, Fantasy
Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said the team will know WR James Jones' (knee) status for Week 7 by Friday, Oct. 18. McCarthy indicated Jones is very positive about his rehab.
There's a good chance that Jones will be a game-time decision in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns. Jermichael Finley will probably be the biggest beneficiary in the passing game, even if Jones suits up.
WR | Eddie Royal | San Diego Chargers | Injury, Fantasy
San Diego Chargers WR Eddie Royal (toe) is not participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
TE | Greg Olsen | Carolina Panthers | Injury, Fantasy
Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) was participating in practice Thursday, Oct. 17.
TE | Tony Gonzalez | Atlanta Falcons | Fantasy
Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez said he has not asked for a trade from the team, and does not plan on "jumping ship."
TE | Vernon Davis | San Francisco 49ers | Injury, Fantasy
San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis (hamstring) was able to take part in a full practice session Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Davis is coming off a giant performance last Sunday. He will face a Tennessee Titans pass defense which ranks 10th in the league, but he should remain in all fantasy lineups regardless of the opponent.
TE | Marcedes Lewis | Jacksonville Jaguars | Injury, Fantasy
Jacksonville Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis (calf) is expected to return in Week 7 against the San Diego Chargers after being limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16. Lewis has been on the field for only two snaps this season because of a nagging calf ailment.
Lewis is more known for his blocking skills than receiving work, however, so he's a very weak choice as a starting tight end. Look elsewhere.
TE | Martellus Bennett | Chicago Bears | Injury, Fantasy
Chicago Bears TE Martellus Bennett (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Bennett said earlier that he plans on playing in Week 7 against the Washington Redskins. He's had at least five targets in every game this season and is a big part of the offense. Against the 'Skins, he should be a solid play.
TE | Heath Miller | Pittsburgh Steelers | Fantasy
Pittsburgh Steelers TE Heath Miller (non-injury) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Miller is one of Ben Roethlisberger's favorite targets underneath, and he can perform as a low-end TE1 in many weeks. In Week 7, his matchup against the Baltimore Ravens is very tempting; the Ravens have been pretty vulnerable to opposing tight ends this year.
TE | Rob Gronkowski | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (forearm, back) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Here we go again with Gronkowski. If recent weeks are any indication, this will likely go right down to the wire on game day.
TE | Timothy Wright | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Fantasy
Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Timothy Wright, a former undrafted wide receiver, has chemistry with rookie QB Mike Glennon, and it showed in Wright's start in Week 6 when he had seven catches for 91 yards against the Philadelphia Eagles. "We came in together as rookies and we spent a lot of time during the offseason throwing routes on air and getting that timing down, that connection," said Wright. "You never thought, down this line, that we'd be the two hooking up together at this point, but it happened, and it's starting to show for us." Wright caught four of his seven passes on third downs, and they all resulted in moving the chains.
Even though Wright is currently still behind Tom Crabtree on the depth chart, he has much more upside as a pass-catching tight end. Rookie QBs often rely on their tight ends often, too, making Wright a sleeper moving forward.
