Second Baseman

2B | Gordon Beckham | Chicago White Sox | Fantasy,
The Toronto Blue Jays are interested in trading for Chicago White Sox 2B Gordon Beckham. Left field and starting pitching are other areas of need heading into the offseason. Beckham is eligible for arbitration this winter and is under club control through the 2015 season. The Blue Jays also may try to pry SPs Hector Santiago or John Danks away from the White Sox in addition to Beckham. Toronto could have more than $20 million to spend this offseason. The White Sox are believed to be interested in Ps Aaron Sanchez or Marcus Stroman.

Shortstop

SS | Asdrubal Cabrera | Cleveland Indians | Injury, Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
The Cleveland Indians are not expected to move SS Asdrubal Cabrera this winter. Paul Hoynes, a veteran Cleveland Indians columnist for the Plain Dealer, speculates SS Mike Aviles is only a part-time player and SS prospect Francisco Lindor isn't quite ready for duty due to a back injury last year.

Catcher

C | Brayan Pena | Detroit Tigers | Transaction, Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
Detroit Tigers C Brayan Pena has been told by the ballclub that he will not be back in 2014. Pena, who signed an $865,000 contract for 2013, was told the Tigers will seek in-house help behind C Alex Avila, or they may even sign a veteran to a minor league deal before spring training.

Outfielder

OF | Jacoby Ellsbury | Boston Red Sox | Injury, Fantasy
Boston Red Sox OF Jacoby Ellsbury (hand) will have an MRI on his left hand, which was severely swollen and discolored up to his forearm during the World Series.

OF | Eric Young Jr. | New York Mets | Fantasy
The New York Mets would like to install 2B Eric Young Jr. at second base full-time, but it would necessitate moving Daniel Murphy from the spot. Sources said Murphy could go to first base, but ownership would prefer a power bat at that slot.

OF | Shane Victorino | Boston Red Sox | Injury, Fantasy
Boston Red Sox OF Shane Victorino (back) returned to the lineup in Game 6 of the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals after missing the previous two games. He finished 2-for-3 with a double, walk and four RBI. Both of his hits came with the bases loaded. He is just the third player in Major League Baseball history to notch two hits with the bases loaded in a single World Series game, and the first since 1960.

OF | Freddy Guzman | Tampa Bay Rays | Transaction
Tampa Bay Rays OF Freddy Guzman was outrighted to Triple-A Durham Wednesday, Oct. 30, after he cleared waivers. Guzman will become a free agent five days after the World Series ends.

OF | Josh Reddick | Oakland Athletics | Injury, Fantasy
Oakland Athletics OF Josh Reddick (wrist) underwent successful surgery on his right wrist Wednesday, Oct. 30, and he's expected to be ready for spring training.

Starting Pitcher

SP | Ryan Vogelsong | San Francisco Giants | Transaction, Free Agents, Fantasy
The San Francisco Giants are expected to decline SP Ryan Vogelsong's $6.5 million contract option for 2014, which would make him a free agent. However, the club is expected to re-sign Vogelsong to a cheaper one-year contract that includes incentives.

SP | John Lackey | Boston Red Sox | Fantasy,
Boston Red Sox SP John Lackey allowed one earned run while scattering nine hits over 6 2/3 innings in Game 6 of the World Series Wednesday, Oct. 30, against the St. Louis. He struck out five while picking up the win, helping the Red Sox to their third world title since 2004. Lackey is the third pitcher in Major League Baseball history to win the World Series clincher for two different teams in his career.

SP | Michael Wacha | St. Louis Cardinals | Fantasy,
St. Louis Cardinals SP Michael Wacha was roughed up for six earned runs, five hits and four walks in just 3 2/3 innings in Game 6 of the World Series Wednesday, Oct. 30, against the Boston Red Sox. He was trying to become the first pitcher in Major League Baseball history to win five games as a starter in a single postseason, but just fell short.

Wacha lost the elimination game, but he still saw his fantasy stock soar tremendously. Fantasy owners in 2014 will likely overvalue him on Draft Day in re-draft leagues based on his sparkling performances in the postseason, at least until Wednesday's dud.

SP | Jake Peavy | Boston Red Sox | Injury, Fantasy,
Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell said SP Jake Peavy would start a potential Game 7 of the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals "as of now." Peavy has struggled in his last two starts, though, leaving SP Felix Doubront as a possibility to take the start if he doesn't pitch in Game 6 for multiple innings. SP Clay Buchholz (shoulder) could be available in Game 6, too, and SP Jon Lester figures to be available to pitch in Game 7 if needed.

Relief Pitcher

RP | Matt Lindstrom | Chicago White Sox | Transaction
The Chicago White Sox exercised RP Matt Lindstrom's $4 million option for 2014.
