QB | Jake Locker | Tennessee Titans | Injury, Fantasy
Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak said QB Jake Locker (foot) will miss the rest of the season because of the Lisfranc injury he suffered Week 10.
QB | Michael Vick | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury, Fantasy
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said he won't name a starting quarterback as long as QB Michael Vick (hamstring) remains sidelined due to injury. QB Nick Foles has started in his absence and will continue to take first-team repetitions in practice Tuesday, Nov. 12. "I think what we've done for the last two weeks has worked for us pretty good," Kelly said. "So we're going to stick to that. It's gotten us 16 touchdowns, no interceptions and two wins, so why would we change?" Foles has 10 touchdown passes in the last two weeks. Kelly plans to take the quarterback situation day-by-day with Vick improving.
Foles has definitely played well enough to be considered for the starting gig even when Vick is healthy enough to return, but it'll be up to Kelly when that time comes. For now, consider Foles a good bye-week filler or midrange No. 1 QB with the right matchup.
QB | Christian Ponder | Minnesota Vikings | Injury, Fantasy
Minnesota Vikings QB Christian Ponder (shoulder) said his dislocated left shoulder is feeling better, and he expects to return to play in Week 11 against the Seattle Seahawks. "The thing with this injury is, it's not really going to hinder anything," he said. "It's not hindering my throwing motion or anything. It's just going to be taking a hit or something, and we don't have fear that it's going to get worse. It's just being able to handle the pain, and if I can do it, then I'll play." An MRI exam showed that he has no further damage to his arm. Head coach Leslie Frazier wants to see how Ponder performs in practice this week before naming a starter.
Ponder looked the best he has all season before he was hurt in Week 10. Even if he returns this weekend, you should stay away from him, especially while going up against the formidable Seahawks.
QB | Jay Cutler | Chicago Bears | Injury, Fantasy
Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler (ankle, groin) has been ruled out for Week 11.
QB | Peyton Manning | Denver Broncos | Injury, Fantasy
Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (ankle) is expected to play in the team's Week 11 showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs after his MRI exam Monday, Nov. 11, showed no new damage to his injured right ankle. Manning was not in a walking boot Monday, according to a player source. The Denver Post's Mike Klis was told by a source that Manning "absolutely will play Sunday against the Chiefs."
It'll be one of Denver's stiffest tests of the season, especially with their offensive line struggling lately. If Manning is playing, he needs to be in your starting lineup.
QB | Ben Roethlisberger | Pittsburgh Steelers | Fantasy
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is refuting reports that suggested he might seek a trade after the 2013 season. "It's ridiculous," Roethlisberger said after Sunday's 23-10 victory over the Buffalo Bills. "This is where I've always wanted to be. I don't want to play for anyone else." President Art Rooney II also issued a statement saying the previous report was "erroneous," and he has no intentions of trying to trade Roethlisberger.
QB | Terrelle Pryor | Oakland Raiders | Injury, Fantasy
Oakland Raiders QB Terrelle Pryor (knee) said he has a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee. "I've got a sprained MCL. It just got worse during the week. So I was just trying to come out and play and try to help the team but just didn't feel well today," he said. Pryor played with a brace on his knee in Week 10 against the New York Giants and said he couldn't push off his leg. He finished 11-for-26 for just 122 yards and an interception and fumble. He was sacked four times and ran for a career-low 19 yards. QB Matt McGloin is the only other quarterback on roster, with QB Tyler Wilson on the practice squad.
A big part of Pryor's game comes on the ground, so an injury to his legs can be a big liability. It's probably smart to steer clear of him until his knee is close to full strength again.
QB | Matt Flynn | Green Bay Packers | Free Agents, Fantasy
Free-agent QB Matt Flynn (Bills) is scheduled to work out for the Green Bay Packers Monday, Nov. 11.
RB | Ray Rice | Baltimore Ravens | Injury, Fantasy
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said RB Ray Rice (hip) health has been a big factor in his disappointing season so far. Rice's longest run of the season is for 14 yards, and he's averaging just 1.62 yards per tote on 29 carries since he said he was healthy coming out of the Week 8 bye. Harbaugh suggested he may ride the hot hand out of the backfield as the season progresses.
Rice is more of an RB2 or 3 if this keeps up. Bernard Pierce hasn't been very effective, either, thanks to a struggling offensive line.
RB | Shane Vereen | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels said RB Shane Vereen (wrist) will have a role when he is activated from the Injured Reserve/Designated to Return list but is not sure when Vereen will be able to return. "As soon as he is ready and able to help us and we are able to play him, certainly he will have a role in the game. He definitely did make a big impact in game one. I don't know if we can expect him to do that right off the bat in his first game back, whenever that is. We'll look forward to having him back."
RB | C.J. Spiller | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills RB C.J. Spiller (ankle) was on the field for only 22 of the team's 67 offensive snaps during the team's Week 10 game, but head coach Doug Marrone said Spiller was not limited because of his ankle injury. Marrone said the team planned to use RB Fred Jackson more during the game and that Spiller's playing time will vary from week to week.
The team likely will continue to use Spiller and Jackson each game, but their production will change each week depending on what the team wants to do on offense. Both should be in the starting lineup most weeks.
RB | Mark Ingram | New Orleans Saints | Fantasy
New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram had a career-high 145 rushing yards on 14 carries in the team's Week 10 win over the Dallas Cowboys. It was his first 100-yard game of his three-year career. The Saints finished with 242 yards rushing on 38 carries.
Ingram looked the best he's looked in ages, but don't get too excited just yet. Most of his work came with the Saints up by a large margin, and the Cowboys' defense was missing several key starters. Keep Ingram on your radar if you're desperate at running back, but also remember that he'll continue to fight for touches with Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles.
RB | Matt Forte | Chicago Bears | Fantasy
Chicago Bears RB Matt Forte was frustrated by a solid Detroit Lions defensive line that made it difficult for Forte to generate any offense. He ran the ball 17 times for 33 yards and caught four passes for 16 yards, his worst output of the season.
RB | Andre Brown | New York Giants | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, New York Giants RB Andre Brown (leg) was only expected to see limited carries, but instead carried a career-high 28 times for a career-high 106 yards and a touchdown in the Week 10 game against the Oakland Raiders.
If Brown is available off the waiver wire in your fantasy league, he is definitely worth a look as a low-end RB2 or flex fantasy option. He certainly looked a lot more explosive than retreads Peyton Hillis and Brandon Jacobs, and could get a bulk of the carries down the stretch if he can remain healthy.
WR | Percy Harvin | Seattle Seahawks | Injury, Fantasy
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll isn't ready to declare WR Percy Harvin (hip) a go for Week 11 against the Minnesota Vikings. "He's going after it this week and we'll see how far we can take it," Carroll said of Harvin. "We'll call this Phase 3. We also have a chance to have all three (starting offensive linemen) back and Percy just adds to it." Carroll said Harvin must practice every day this week in order to suit up this weekend.
Harvin is a very risky play this weekend if you've been stashing him. Even if he does play, he'll likely have his snaps limited. The Seahawks may just elect to play it cautious and hold him out with the team's bye week in Week 12.
WR | Michael Crabtree | San Francisco 49ers | Injury, Fantasy
San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said he is not sure if WR Michael Crabtree (Achilles') will be activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list this week.
WR | Santonio Holmes | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said he believes WR Santonio Holmes (hamstring) will be able to play Week 11.
WR | Kenbrell Thompkins | New England Patriots | Fantasy
New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels indicated WRs Kenbrell Thompkins and Josh Boyce will compete for the No. 4 wide receiver job.
WR | Michael Floyd | Arizona Cardinals | Injury, Fantasy
Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said WR Michael Floyd (shoulder) is considered day-to-day because of the shoulder sprain he suffered Week 10.
Owners should monitor his practice status during the week to get a better idea of what his status will be for Week 11.
WR | Robert Woods | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone said he is leaning towards having WR Robert Woods (ankle) sit out another game because of his high ankle sprain, but a decision in his status for Week 11 has not been made yet.
WR | Stevie Johnson | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Buffalo Bills WR Stevie Johnson (groin) will be limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 13. The team is taking a "wait and see" approach on the groin injury.
WR | Jeremy Kerley | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
New York Jets WR Jeremy Kerley (elbow) is not participating in practice Monday, Nov. 11.
WR | Dez Bryant | Dallas Cowboys | Fantasy
Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant was only targeted twice in the team's Week 10 game, and his first target did not come until the third quarter. QB Tony Romo said Bryant was being double covered throughout the game.
WR | Riley Cooper | Philadelphia Eagles | Fantasy
Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper has 15 receptions for 393 yards and six touchdowns with QB Nick Foles in the game. He only has eight catches for 93 yards and a touchdown with QB Michael Vick.
WR | Calvin Johnson | Detroit Lions | Fantasy
Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson caught his 63rd touchdown pass Sunday, Nov. 10, in a 21-19 win over the Chicago Bears. With the TD Johnson surpassed Herman Moore as the Lions' all-time touchdown receiver.
WR | Roddy White | Atlanta Falcons | Fantasy
Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White, who returned this week from ankle and hamstring injuries, had just one catch for 20 yards in a 33-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Nov. 10. His teammate, RB Steven Jackson, managed only 11 yards on nine carries in the defeat.
TE | Jimmy Graham | New Orleans Saints | Injury, Fantasy
New Orleans Saints TE Jimmy Graham (foot) played only 33 of the team's 83 offensive snaps in Week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys, but head coach Sean Payton said it was part of the game plan to limit Graham's snaps while he's been managing the pain of a partially torn plantar fascia in his left foot.
It's disappointing that Graham wasn't on the field all that much again Sunday, but it's likely his usage will go up as his health improves. It's very tough to sit Graham.
TE | Tony Gonzalez | Atlanta Falcons | Injury, Fantasy
Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez (toe) is unsure of his status heading into Week 11, and he indicated that he'll likely have more tests this week to determine the severity of the ailment. "I played on it," he said. "Wasn't able to go full speed, but we'll see how it goes the next day. Usually when you have injuries, you can get through it through in the game. Then the next day after it calms down and swells up a little bit, then that's when the trouble starts. So, we'll see how it goes. Tomorrow, I'm going to wake up, and hopefully it's not that bad." He hasn't missed a game since 2006 and has missed only two games in his 16-plus year NFL career. Gonzalez finished with only three catches for 29 yards on five targets in Week 10.
A hobbled Tony G is still likely better than many tight ends you'll have to choose from. Keep an eye on how much he accomplishes in practice this week. The Falcons will surely attempt to rest him up as much as possible.
