Quarterback

QB | Josh McCown | Chicago Bears | Transaction, Free Agents, Fantasy
Chicago Bears impending free-agent QB Josh McCown said Tuesday, Jan. 28, that he can envision a return to the Bears in free agency even if another team offers him a starting job. The team cannot officially re-sign him until the start of free agency, but the club does hold exclusive negotiating rights with him until that time.

QB | Joe Flacco | Baltimore Ravens | Depth Chart Tidbit
Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak and quarterbacks coach Rick Dennison are starting to watch film of QB Joe Flacco to put him in the best position possible. "It's our job to find the things that Joe is comfortable with and to make him as successful as we possibly can. And we'll do that," Kubiak said. "He's a championship quarterback, and that's all you can ask for as a coach in this league. I'm very excited, along with Rick, to work with him."

QB | Peyton Manning | Denver Broncos | Fantasy
Denver Broncos president John Elway said he expects QB Peyton Manning to return for at least another season even if the team wins Super Bowl XLVIII against the Seattle Seahawks. "I'm sure hopeful he's not going to," Elway said. "I'd be very, very surprised if he walked away. I think he wants to walk away with every record that was ever put in the record books as far as offensive football or quarterbacking. So I think he's got a lot of football left in him."

Running Back

RB | Montee Ball | Denver Broncos | Fantasy
Denver Broncos RB Montee Ball admitted he was overwhelmed by the playbook at first. He said QB Peyton Manning would ask him what he needed help with and work with him after practice.

RB | LeGarrette Blount | New England Patriots | Free Agents
The Miami Dolphins may pursue free-agent RB LeGarrette Blount (Patriots) this offseason.

RB | Adrian Peterson | Minnesota Vikings | Fantasy
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson is happy with the hiring of offensive coordinator Norv Turner and called him "the perfect guy to lead us and get us on the right path." The Vikings were ranked 23rd in the league in passing offense last year, and they were ranked 31st in the league in 2012. "I'll tell you, our pass offense has really struggled in the past couple years," Peterson told USA Today Sports. "I think (Turner) is going to be the perfect guy to come in and get us on the right path."

RB | Darren Sproles | New Orleans Saints | Fantasy
New Orleans Saints RB Darren Sproles is set to count $4.25 million against the salary cap next year, but he should return because of the matchup problems he creates out of the backfield.

Wide Receiver

WR | Larry Fitzgerald | Arizona Cardinals | Fantasy
The New England Patriots were interested in trading for Arizona Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald last offseason, according to a trusted source of CSNNE.com's Tom E. Curran.

WR | Wes Welker | Denver Broncos | Injury
Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker said if he had a concussion, he would try to play through it to play in the Super Bowl, even if doctors advised against it. "You know," Welker said. "You want to be out there. It's the Super Bowl. Like, this is what you dream about. You're gonna be there. I don't care what it takes."

WR | Percy Harvin | Seattle Seahawks | Injury, Fantasy
Seattle Seahawks WR Percy Harvin (concussion) said he is playing in the Super Bowl and will not leave anything in the tank when he is on the field.

WR | Julian Edelman | New England Patriots | Transaction
It is unlikely that the New England Patriots will use the franchise tag on WR Julian Edelman this off season, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN Boston, in part because of how much it would cost to use it.

Defensive Line

DL | Julius Peppers | Chicago Bears | Fantasy
Chicago Bears DE Julius Peppers' future with the team is in doubt after he remained silent for much of the 2013 season. Peppers will count $18,183,333 against the salary cap in 2014, and the Bears will have to carry $4,183,333 in dead money in each of the next two seasons if they decide to cut him.

DL | Brett Keisel | Pittsburgh Steelers | Depth Chart Tidbit
Pittsburgh Steelers DL Brett Keisel said retirement is not on his radar and he wants to keep playing at least a couple more years. "I think I've got a couple [of seasons] left in me," Keisel said. "I feel great and still feel like I can play and we'll see what happens."

Linebacker

LB | Manti Te'o | San Diego Chargers | Injury, Fantasy
San Diego Chargers LB Manti Te'o (foot) had surgery on his right foot earlier this month.

Cornerback

CB | Richard Sherman | Seattle Seahawks | Fantasy
Seattle Seahawks CB Richard Sherman confirmed that he will play the left side in Super Bowl XLVIII against the Denver Broncos and won't shadow Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas. Sherman said they don't plan to add any new schemes to deal with QB Peyton Manning. "We don't vary or disguise coverage on anybody," Sherman said. "We play a pretty simple defense, for the most part you know what we are going to do every play. And you got to line up and play it and I think that is how we have been all season. This is the last game of the season, there is no time to change it now. No new wrinkles for us."

Free Safety

FS | Jairus Byrd | Buffalo Bills | Free Agents, Fantasy
The Buffalo Bills feel they can work out a long-term extension with impending free-agent FS Jairus Byrd despite coming to a stalemate in contract talks last year. "It's a process and there's no carryover. You start over again and you try to get something done," president Russ Brandon said. "We just weren't able to come up with a solution that worked for both parties, so you reset it and start again." The team remains in contact with Byrd's representatives, and there is "great communication." Byrd played under a $6.9 million franchise tag in 2013. The Bills won't rule out using the franchise tag on Byrd again, however.

Offensive Coordinator

OC | Bill Callahan | Dallas Cowboys | Transaction, Depth Chart Tidbit
Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Bill Callahan remains with the team as offensive coordinator and offensive line coach despite the fact Scott Linehan was hired as the passing game coordinator, and he will be calling plays on offense. A source said Callahan would not be pleased if Linehan was added.

OC | Adam Gase | Denver Broncos | Transaction
Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase said the timing was not right to pursue a head coaching job. "I guess I didn't really think about it until it came up this year, and it just wasn't the right time, as far as the timing with us coming here and the focus I wanted on this game," Gase said. "I'm not worrying about it right now, it's just not -- it's on the back burner for me."

OC | Gary Kubiak | Baltimore Ravens | Depth Chart Tidbit
Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak and quarterbacks coach Rick Dennison are starting to watch film of QB Joe Flacco to put him in the best position possible. "It's our job to find the things that Joe is comfortable with and to make him as successful as we possibly can. And we'll do that," Kubiak said. "He's a championship quarterback, and that's all you can ask for as a coach in this league. I'm very excited, along with Rick, to work with him."

OC | Kyle Shanahan | Free Agent | Transaction
Updating a previous report, the Cleveland Browns will interview former Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan Wednesday, Jan. 29, for their vacant offensive coordinator position.

OC | Norv Turner | Minnesota Vikings | Fantasy
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson is happy with the hiring of offensive coordinator Norv Turner and called him "the perfect guy to lead us and get us on the right path." The Vikings were ranked 23rd in the league in passing offense last year, and they were ranked 31st in the league in 2012. "I'll tell you, our pass offense has really struggled in the past couple years," Peterson told USA Today Sports. "I think (Turner) is going to be the perfect guy to come in and get us on the right path."
