Chris can come out and say publicly that it's his fault, but it's not all his fault. We've got to be more aggressive in our quick pass protections, and we've got to get people's hands down. Brown will start the team's preseason finale followed by Henry and rookie RB LenDale White.

He has been out for a month with a bone bruise that is causing soreness in his knee. He said it has been frustrating and surprising that the injury has kept him out this long. "It's getting to the point where it's just draining me," he said. "I'm tired of watching. I've been here and I've worked hard with everybody else and I can't be out there and help. It's just killing me watching." Texans head coach Gary Kubiak plans to meet with Davis, his agent and his doctors this week to discuss his injury. Martin is said to have a bone-on-bone condition in his right knee.

RB | Jamal Lewis | Baltimore Ravens | Injury News, Fantasy
Mike Duffy, of BaltimoreRavens.com, reports Baltimore Ravens RB Jamal Lewis (hip) was back on the practice field Tuesday, Aug. 29, after sitting out last week's practices and the Minnesota game so he could rest a hip injury. ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports there figures to be a handful of teams with varying degrees of interest in free agent WR Todd Pinkston (Eagles). Vikings head coach Brad Childress is the former offensive coordinator of the Eagles and is familiar with Pinkston's history. Terry Foster, of the Detroit News, reports Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Mike Martz said WR Charles Rogers will get an extensive look in the team's preseason finale Thursday evening, Aug. 31. That's good news for Rogers, who said he is ready to go. Will he get an opportunity to show his talents? "I don't know," Rogers said. "We will see. If I get the opportunity, hopefully I will. If I don't get (the opportunity), I can't hang my head. I just got to keep my head up and move on." Martz said Rogers will get "extensive" playing time. "I'd like to see him make some big plays," Martz said. "We want to get him in there and see what he can do." Martz said the wide receiver competition after WR Roy Williams is heated and would not say what others have done to stay ahead of Rogers. Rogers is listed third on the depth chart. Rogers' thing is stretching defenses with his speed. He is one of the fastest players on the field, but the Lions have questioned his dedication and grasp of Martz's offense.

WR | Hines Ward | Pittsburgh Steelers | Injury News, Fantasy
Gerry Dulac, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports Pittsburgh Steelers WR Hines Ward (hamstring) will not play in the team's final preseason game Thursday night, Aug. 31, against the Carolina Panthers at Heinz Field.

WR | Deion Branch | New England Patriots | Fantasy
Mike Reiss, of the Boston Globe, reports New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft said he favors an optimistic viewpoint, and because of that, he's hoping that WR Deion Branch will rejoin his team. "We'll know the answer to that within three days," Kraft said Tuesday night, Aug. 29, prior to the team's annual Kickoff Gala at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots gave Branch a Friday deadline, Sept. 1, for negotiating with other teams. Kraft said he's been aware of each step of the process.

WR | Terry Glenn | Dallas Cowboys | Fantasy
Clarence E. Hill Jr., of the Star-Telegram, reports Dallas Cowboys WR Terry Glenn continues to receive tough love from head coach Bill Parcells. When painful blisters forced him to miss practice in training camp a couple of weeks ago, Parcells let him have it. Parcells has that type of relationship with Glenn. "Terry understands everything about me," Parcells said. "He does. He's seen it all. He knows what I want, and he does it." Parcells knows and understands Glenn too, which is why he traded for him shortly after landing in Dallas in 2003. Parcells said a more mature Glenn is playing his best football since he's been in Dallas. Credit the chemistry he has with QB Drew Bledsoe, also dating to their days with the New England Patriots. But credit the still-speedy Glenn, too, with being very good and very competitive.

Dan Gelston, of the Associated Press, reports Philadelphia Eagles WR Donte' Stallworth is excited about being in Philadelphia and ready to take on the team's No.1 wide receiver role. He believes a change of scenery could be exactly what he needs to fulfill his potential as the 13th overall pick in the 2002 draft. "I can help the team win games, if that's catching deep balls down the field or catching short passes and making long runs down the field, I can do it," he said after practice Tuesday, Aug. 29. Stallworth joins a crowded receiving corps that includes promising second-year WR Reggie Brown, WR Todd Pinkston, rookie WRs Hank Baskett and Jason Avant, and veteran WRs Greg Lewis, Darnerian McCants and Jabar Gaffney. The Eagles likely will carry six wideouts, so the coaching staff faces some tough decisions before final cuts must be made by Saturday, Sept. 2.

Place Kicker

PK | Dave Rayner | Green Bay Packers | Fantasy
Bob McGinn, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports newly signed Green Bay Packers PK E.J. Cochrane had no chance to beat out PK David Akers in Philadelphia but it is conceivable that he still could edge out PK Dave Rayner in Green Bay. There's always the chance that the Packers could cut both kickers and sign another.

PK | Michael Koenen | Atlanta Falcons | Fantasy
Paul Newberry, of the Associated Press, reports the Atlanta Falcons have decided P/PK Michael Koenen will be their place kicker in 2006. They still haven't decided if he'll also be their punter. Head coach Jim Mora will wait until after Thursday's final preseason game, Aug. 31, before deciding if he wants to bring in someone else to handle the punting. He's concerned about giving one guy all three jobs, though Koenen certainly looks capable of handling the load. Frank Corral was the last kicker to do triple duty on a regular basis. In 1981, he had 89 punts, kicked off 70 times and attempted 26 field goals for the Los Angeles Rams. The Falcons will scan the list of available punters after NFL teams make their final round of cuts. If there's someone worth picking up, they might go that route. Or, if they decide to free up a roster spot for another position, they'll let Koenen do all three jobs. "That's a real positive, especially if we feel like we need someone else for special teams," Mora said.
