Quarterback

QB | Christian Ponder | Minnesota Vikings | Injury, Fantasy
Minnesota Vikings QB Christian Ponder (ribs) has been cleared to play in Week 6. However, QB Matt Cassel is likely to start again.

QB | Colin Kaepernick | San Francisco 49ers | Injury, Fantasy
San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick (foot) was able to take part in a full practice session Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Kaepernick was also listed on the injury report last week, but practiced fine and was able to start, although he didn't have the best week statistically against a solid defense. The Arizona Cardinals, the Week 6 opponent for the Niners, ranks 19th against the pass, so Kaepernick should see much better results for his fantasy owners.

QB | Ben Roethlisberger | Pittsburgh Steelers | Injury, Fantasy
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (finger) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

It looks like Big Ben is a go for Week 6, get him into your lineups as you normally would.

QB | Blaine Gabbert | Jacksonville Jaguars | Injury, Fantasy
Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

QB | Matt Schaub | Houston Texans | Fantasy
Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said QB Matt Schaub will be the team's starting quarterback Week 6.

Schaub has struggled with interceptions the last few weeks but will keep his starting job at least one more week. He should be considered a weak starting option this week.

QB | Michael Vick | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury, Fantasy
Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

You should be happy as a Vick owner that he's practicing this week, but if you haven't already, make plans to bench him this weekend. It's not official yet, but Nick Foles is expected to start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

QB | Nick Foles | Philadelphia Eagles | Injury, Fantasy
Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

You should be happy as a Vick owner that he's practicing this week, but if you haven't already, make plans to bench him this weekend. It's not official yet, but Nick Foles is expected to start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Running Back

RB | Adrian Peterson | Minnesota Vikings | Fantasy
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson (personal) will not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 10, due to a personal matter.

RB | Shane Vereen | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots RB Shane Vereen (wrist) was working out away from the practice field with a brace on his right wrist Thursday, Oct. 10.

RB | David Wilson | New York Giants | Injury, Fantasy
Updating previous reports, New York Giants RB David Wilson (neck) could require surgery and miss the rest of the season.

It's been a very disappointing season for Wilson to this point. Da'Rel Scott and Brandon Jacobs will likely split time with Wilson out. Scott has slightly more appeal in point-per-reception leagues, but this situation isn't very attractive unless you're desperate for a warm body at a RB spot. If Wilson misses the rest of the season, expect the G-Men to be on the market for a free-agent back.

RB | Shonn Greene | Tennessee Titans | Injury, Fantasy
Tennessee Titans RB Shonn Greene (knee) looks to be at least another week away from being able to return.

RB | Jamaal Charles | Kansas City Chiefs | Injury, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (toes) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 9, due to blisters on his toes.

It's uncertain if this ailment is the type of thing to threaten his availability for Week 6. Fantasy owners will want to check the injury report Friday for more detailed information on his status.

RB | Frank Gore | San Francisco 49ers | Injury, Fantasy
San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore (knee) was able to fully participate in the practice session Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Gore is dealing with a little bit of a sore knee, but he appears to be fine to start for fantasy owners in Week 6.

RB | Marshawn Lynch | Seattle Seahawks | Injury, Fantasy
Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch (not injury related) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Generally, Lynch does not take part in mid-week practices, as the team keeps him fresh for the week. He isn't dealing with any known injury, and fantasy owners should start him with confidence.

RB | Rashad Jennings | Oakland Raiders | Injury, Fantasy
Oakland Raiders RB Rashad Jennings (hamstring), who left the Week 5 game against the San Diego Chargers due to a hamstring injury, was back at practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

RB | Darren McFadden | Oakland Raiders | Injury, Fantasy
Oakland Raiders RB Darren McFadden (hamstring) was on the field Wednesday, Oct. 9, working with the first team during an early walk-through and then going through drills with his position group. Officially, he was listed as a limited participant for practice.

McFadden is still expected to miss the Week 6 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, as the team has a bye after Sunday's game. If you normally rely upon McFadden, make plans to be without him for at least one more game.

RB | Stevan Ridley | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots RB Stevan Ridley (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

It's great news for Ridley owners that he's already practicing this week after sitting out in Week 5; he didn't practice at all last week. However, if he plays, he may be limited, and the Pats will likely continue to give Brandon Bolden and LeGarrette Blount touches. Ridley is probably a flex play, at best, against the New Orleans Saints.

RB | C.J. Spiller | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills RB C.J. Spiller (ankle) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Even with the limited designation, there is no reason to think Spiller will not play. Plan to use him as you normally would.

RB | Bernard Pierce | Baltimore Ravens | Injury, Fantasy
Baltimore Ravens RB Shaun Draughn (ankle), OG Kelechi Osemele (back), RB Bernard Pierce (thigh), DT Marcus Spears (knee) and WR Brandon Stokley (thigh) were limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

RB | Ben Tate | Houston Texans | Injury, Fantasy
Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (elbow) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

RB | Zac Stacy | St. Louis Rams | Injury, Fantasy
St. Louis Rams RB Zac Stacy (chest) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 9. Stacy missed the end of the Week 5 game with what the team was calling a rib injury, but Stacy said he felt like he had the wind knocked out of him and that he'd be fine for Week 6. "He took the day off," head coach Jeff Fisher said. "He's a little sore after that outing, but he'll be fine."

Stacy should be fine to start against the Houston Texans this weekend. Expect him to get the majority of the workload again, and he can be seen as an RB3 or flex play.

RB | Chris Ivory | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
New York Jets RB Chris Ivory (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

RB | Arian Foster | Houston Texans | Injury, Fantasy
Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (chest, thumb) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

RB | Ronnie Hillman | Denver Broncos | Injury, Fantasy
Denver Broncos RB Ronnie Hillman (ankle) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Hillman returned to the Week 5 game after limping off, so that's a sign that he should be good to go this weekend. Hillman could see plenty of work in mop-up duty against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he's still a very risk flex play in deeper leagues.

RB | Alfred Morris | Washington Redskins | Injury, Fantasy
Washington Redskins RB Alfred Morris (ribs) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

It looks like Morris is good to go for Week 6. Check back later in the week to make sure there are no setbacks.

RB | Jason Snelling | Atlanta Falcons | Injury, Fantasy
Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith said RB Jason Snelling (concussion) is going through the concussion protocol after suffering a concussion Week 5.

Wide Receiver

WR | Julio Jones | Atlanta Falcons | Injury, Fantasy
Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (foot) will undergo season-ending surgery on his foot Monday, Oct. 14. Jones suffered a fracture in the same part of his foot that was fractured after the 2011 Scouting Combine.

WR | Mike Williams | Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Injury, Fantasy
Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Williams (hamstring) was not participating in the portion of practice open to the media Thursday, Oct. 10.

WR | Calvin Johnson | Detroit Lions | Injury, Fantasy
Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson (knee) took part in position drills in the portion of the practice open to the media Thursday, Oct. 10. Johnson did not run routes or participate in skeleton drills.

This is likely to go right up to kick off on Sunday, but it is a good sign that Johnson has made it back to the practice field. Keep a close eye on this one as the week moves on.

WR | Nate Burleson | Detroit Lions | Injury, Fantasy
Detroit Lions WR Nate Burleson (arm) is aiming to return for Week 10.

WR | Quinton Patton | San Francisco 49ers | Injury, Fantasy
San Francisco 49ers WR Quinton Patton (foot) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 9, and he has been ruled out for the Week 6 game against the Arizona Cardinals.

WR | Brian Robiskie | Atlanta Falcons | Transaction, Free Agents, Fantasy
The Atlanta Falcons signed free-agent WR Brian Robiskie (Lions) Wednesday, Oct. 9. Robiskie's father, Terry Robiskie, is the team's assistant head coach.

WR | Aaron Dobson | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots WR Aaron Dobson (neck) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

With Danny Amendola back and Rob Gronkowski (back, forearm) likely following him this weekend, Dobson's opportunities may start to dry up. He'll become a risky play in deeper leagues and is more of a WR5 or 6 now.

WR | Danny Amendola | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola (groin) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9, and he said he has no ill-effects after returning to play in Week 5. He played in 39 snaps against the Cincinnati Bengals and caught four passes for 55 yards and dropped two balls. Amendola continues to get healthier every day.

Amendola's injury was serious enough that we shouldn't expect a return to top production for at least another few weeks. With Rob Gronkowski (back, forearm) expected to return this week, too, Tom Brady suddenly now has plenty of options in the passing game. As a result, until he's back to full strength, Amendola isn't necessarily a must-start, although he has more appeal in point-per-reception formats.

WR | Miles Austin | Dallas Cowboys | Injury, Fantasy
Dallas Cowboys WR Miles Austin (hamstring) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Full practice is a nice surprise for Austin owners cursing him for his absence the last two weeks. His hammies are fragile, though, so any little setback during the week could leave him out for a third straight week. If he's back on the field this weekend against the Washington Redskins, though, he should be in your lineup. Terrance Williams' short-term value will take a hit if Austin returns.

WR | Stevie Johnson | Buffalo Bills | Fantasy
Buffalo Bills WR Stevie Johnson will miss practice Thursday, Oct. 10, and return to practice Friday, Oct. 11, to attend a funeral.

WR | Marlon Brown | Baltimore Ravens | Injury, Fantasy
Baltimore Ravens WR Marlon Brown (thigh) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Brown expects to play this weekend against the Green Bay Packers and should be a sneaky start in Week 6 in deeper formats.

WR | Jacoby Jones | Baltimore Ravens | Injury, Fantasy
Baltimore Ravens WR Jacoby Jones (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Jones is building confidence that his knee is close to letting him return to game action. He might be held out another week just as a precaution, however.

WR | Santonio Holmes | New York Jets | Fantasy
New York Jets WR Santonio Holmes (foot, hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

WR | Cecil Shorts | Jacksonville Jaguars | Injury, Fantasy
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Cecil Shorts (groin) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Shorts should be a solid play this weekend against the Denver Broncos with the team likely playing catch up all game long. Chad Henne starting at quarterback also ups Shorts' value in the short term.

WR | Andre Johnson | Houston Texans | Injury, Fantasy
Houston Texans WR Andre Johnson (shin) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

WR | Eric Decker | Denver Broncos | Injury, Fantasy
Denver Broncos WR Eric Decker (ankle) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Decker should play Sunday unless he suffers a setback. Keep him in your starting lineups.

WR | Alshon Jeffery | Chicago Bears | Injury, Fantasy
Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9, and is listed as probable for Week 6.

Jeffery is coming off an outstanding performance Week 5 and appears ready to play Week 6. He should be considered a starter in all fantasy leagues as long as he plays.

Tight End

TE | Rob Gronkowski | New England Patriots | Injury, Fantasy
New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (back, forearm) said his status has not changed from a week ago. He considers himself day-to-day and does not know if he will play in the team's Week 6 game.

Not much to see here. Check back as the week goes on, as this one likely will go right down to the wire.

TE | Greg Olsen | Carolina Panthers | Injury, Fantasy
Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) returned to practice Thursday, Oct. 10, after sitting out practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

TE | Vernon Davis | San Francisco 49ers | Injury, Fantasy
San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis (hamstring) was able to practice in full Wednesday, Oct. 9.

If you normally depend upon Davis for fantasy purposes, it's good news that he fully practiced in the first session of the week. He sounds like a sure bet, barring any setbacks, for the Week 6 game.

TE | Zach Miller | Seattle Seahawks | Injury, Fantasy
Seattle Seahawks TE Zach Miller (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

TE | Kellen Winslow | New York Jets | Injury, Fantasy
New York Jets TE Kellen Winslow (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

TE | Tony Gonzalez | Atlanta Falcons | Fantasy
Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith said the team absolutely is not looking to trade TE Tony Gonzalez to a contending team. "That's preposterous that Tony would be traded," Smith said. "He's an integral part of our offense and has been since he's been here. And he's having another Hall of Fame season." Gonzalez is second on the team with 33 catches for 339 yards and leads the team with three touchdowns.

Place Kicker

PK | Matt Prater | Denver Broncos | Injury, Fantasy
Denver Broncos CB Champ Bailey (foot), TE Joel Dreessen (knee), OG Chris Kuper (ankle), LB Paris Lenon (thigh), PK Matt Prater (calf) and C Manuel Ramirez (ankle) practiced in full Wednesday, Oct. 9.
