I love auctions. When this one -- for AL LABR, this past Saturday night at The Arizona Republic headquarters, in Phoenix -- was finished, I was ready to do it again. In part that's because my execution disappointed me a little then, but the people who participated and my desire to relive the excitement were just as much reasons.

As hours passed that night, my dissatisfaction with my execution dwindled. I began to realize that what fueled my initial sentiment about my squad was the fact that I had simply wanted way more players than I could fit on my roster, according to the rules. I'm a bit obsessive.

I was somewhat aggressive early in AL LABR, although I didn't expect to be. Such a style didn't feel comfortable when I participated in a mock AL auction last month. Surprise, surprise, when we step outside our comfort zones. I hadn't realized that I became more at ease with the method. It didn't have to become my signature.

Plus, the fade of my frustration allowed my appreciation for the format and, especially, the folks involved to swell. They make it really easy.

AL, NL LABR results

Anyway, the rosters and prices are what most people want to digest.

On my squad, Mauer will earn 1B eligibility quickly. Castellanos will do the same at 3B. What I'm hoping for most is that V-Mart plays enough games (five) at C, 1B or both to gain some fantasy flexibility in the summer.

I didn't buy enough home runs to win that category. I could compete just about anywhere else. I really like my reserves.

USA TODAY/Sports Weekly Senior Fantasy Editor Steve Gardner is the commissioner of the publisher's longtime industry leagues and was the gracious host of this past weekend's auctions. The full buffet of outcomes, along with each player's thoughts, will appear in Sports Weekly's Fantasy Extra issue. Check your local newsstand.

Steve revealed his highlights of each auction for the Interweb reader. In each, you'll find a link to all rosters and prices.

Todd Zola, the self-proclaimed "draft tracker bitch," gave his shadow auction toppers here at KFFL -- definitely an interesting way to review.

The list of LABR recaps is lengthening.

Are there any really bad buys or super great gets?

Some people have strong feelings about prices, players, strategies, etc. I think I used to be one of them, but these days, not so much. It's all relative.

I like some AL LABR teams more than others. I see a lot of possibilities on each of them. I wouldn't trade mine for anyone else's. If I would, then I probably did do something wrong. Catch my drift?
