49ers | York talks about McCloughan's departure

Mike Sando, of ESPN.com, reports San Francisco 49ers president Jed York announced a "mutual parting" with general manager Scot McCloughan, using the term "private personal matter" to avoid discussing the matter in further detail. York said McCloughan is unable to join another team until after the 2010 NFL Draft. York is unsure if he will hire another general manager for the long term, but director of player personnel Trent Baalke will "take over" and run the draft. York said he and executive vice president Paraag Marathe will not be the team's next general manager or fill the role effectively.
