Mets | Wally Backman agrees to manage Triple-A farm team

Wally Backman has agreed to manage Triple-A Buffalo in the New York Mets' organization for the 2012 season, in the hopes that he will be next in line to become the manager of the parent club if Terry Collins leaves. Backman had been offered a job on the coaching staff of the Washington Nationals by manager Davey Johnson.
