Mets | Optimistic they'll keep David Wright

The New York Mets are optimistic that they will come to terms on a long-term contract extension for 3B David Wright this winter. Wright has made it clear that he wants his next contract to take him to retirement, and he would also like to see the team add payroll through trades and free-agent signings in the near future. RPs Jon Rauch and Ramon Ramirez and OF Andres Torres are expected to depart this offseason. SP R.A. Dickey has a $5 million option for next year, but it's clear he'll be seeking a hefty contract extension, too.
