Diamondbacks | Brandon McCarthy suffered seizure last week
Arizona Diamondbacks SP Brandon McCarthy (shoulder, head) suffered a seizure while eating dinner Monday, June 3, but said he is fine and is hopeful that it won't delay his recovery from shoulder inflammation. He was put on anti-seizure medication after a CT scan taken at the Mayo Clinic determined that he had not suffered additional head trauma. McCarthy underwent emergency surgery last year after being struck on the head by a line drive and knew that the injury would make him more susceptible to having seizures, although this was the first time this had happened to him. McCarthy believes he can resume throwing in several days because his shoulder is "pretty much pain-free."
