Yankees | Hiroki Kuroda effective in return

New York Yankees SP Hiroki Kuroda (hip) allowed three hits with one walk over seven innings Sunday, July 7, against the Baltimore Orioles in a no-decision. He had his start pushed back due to a sore hip flexor. He had his win disappear when RP Mariano Rivera blew a rare save, but manager Joe Girardi was happy with the performance. "I don't think it's wasted," Girardi said. "I feel a lot better than if he would have given up seven runs, I can tell you that. It was good to see him get out there and throw extremely well. I thought his sinker was good and I thought his split was extremely good today."

Fantasy Tip: Kuroda looked fantastic in his return, and allayed the fears of fantasy owners. He should be kept active heading into his final start of the first half set for Friday, July 12, against the Minnesota Twins.
