Angels | Albert Pujols likely out for season

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 1B Albert Pujols (foot) has a torn left plantar fascia and will miss a "significant amount of time," according to manager Mike Scioscia. He's likely out for the remainder of the season. Pujols may not require surgery, as the surgery would cut the plantar fascia to release the pressure. However, he's still unlikely to return this year.

Fantasy Tip: Bad news for Pujols owners that likely took him in the first round of drafts. Cautious owners can DL him, but it's time to cut bait in most leagues. Collin Cowgill figures to see extended playing time in the short term. He has some AL-only value until Peter Bourjos (wrist) returns in a couple of weeks. Kole Calhoun was recalled and hit .354 with 12 homers, 49 RBIs and 10 steals at Triple-A. He struck out 32 times and walked the same amount. He could have some sneaky value in the interim.
