Yankees | Matt Wieters now a target?
Baltimore Orioles manager Buck Showalter thinks the New York Yankees will sign C Matt Wieters in two years if they don't have to pay 3B Alex Rodriguez's $25 million salary next year if he's suspended. The unpaid money wouldn't count against the Yankees' luxury tax and revenue sharing. "If Bud lets them get away with that, they're under the luxury tax," Showalter told USA Today. "If they can reset, they can spend again, and I guarantee you in two years Matt Wieters is in New York." Wieters is eligible for free agency after the 2015 season.
