Dolphins | Chad Bumphis making case to stay
Miami Dolphins WR Chad Bumphis is making his case to win a roster spot, and receivers coach Ken O'Keefe has told Bumphis all about how former WR Davone Bess (Browns) came to the team in a similar situation back in 2008. "He said, 'Davone came in undrafted and was able to contribute'," Bumphis said. "I said, 'That could be me.'" Bumphis had five grabs for 85 yards in the team's first preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys, and an error on a route resulted in an interception return for touchdown, too.
Fantasy Tip: Bumphis could very well end up with a roster spot, but he is a while away from contributing for fantasy purposes. Bess came to a team with far less talent at the skill positions and took advantage. If Bumphis wins a role, he is likely to be relegated to reserve duty and special teams unless injuries decimate the team.
