Mets | Matt Harvey optimistic of avoiding surgery
New York Mets SP Matt Harvey (elbow) is optimistic that he'll avoid Tommy John surgery on his right elbow, but he still has yet to see Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion. Harvey has been shut down for the rest of the year with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. He has yet to undergo a second MRI exam. "Everything feels fine. My arm feels great," Harvey said. "I'm still very optimistic about everything. But I'm not a doctor, so we'll see what happens." He's only icing his elbow and riding a bike lately.
Fantasy Tip: You can obviously drop Harvey from your roster in single-year formats, if you haven't already. Keeper leaguers that own him have a much more difficult decision that will depend on whether he undergoes surgery. Stay tuned.
