Mets | Matt Harvey won't have surgery
New York Mets SP Matt Harvey (elbow) will attempt to rehab his right elbow for a month and then throw in order to try to avoid undergoing Tommy John surgery. If he continues to have problems with his elbow, he could have the surgery in the offseason to repair his partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. Harvey had a second opinion on his arm from Dr. James Andrews Monday, Sept. 16.
Fantasy Tip: Harvey would have likely missed all of next season if he'd undergone the procedure by now, anyway. This gives him the option of avoiding the famous surgery. If he makes it through the offseason without any setbacks, he'll still be a risky pitching commodity because of the chance of a setback early next season. His price will be high, no doubt, too, if he enters the season healthy.
