Ravens | Ray Rice says he hasn't lost a step
Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens RB Ray Rice said he hasn't lost a step this season and said he's healthy, despite having 97 carries for only 259 yards this year, good for an average of 2.7 yards per carry. The Ravens rank 29th in the league in rushing offense. "If you watch the film, you'd understand that we've been playing pretty good fronts," he said. "We've got eight games left, and that's my focus now." A hip flexor strain in Week 2 limited his explosiveness, but he said he's been feeling fine in recent weeks. RB Bernard Pierce has averaged only 2.7 yards per carry, too, as the offensive line has struggled to open running lanes all year.
Fantasy Tip: Rice's disappointing season is probably a combination of his early season injury and the offensive line struggling. You have to remember that Rice has plenty of mileage on his legs, too, so he may finally be starting to see the effects of that. The second half of the season offers some hope, though, as he faces some weaker run-stuffing units down the stretch.
