Yankees | Offseason plans on hold

New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi said the team's offseason plans are on hold because of 3B Alex Rodriguez's appeal hearing. The team is unsure if his 211-game suspension for next year will be upheld. Rodriguez's appeal will resume Nov. 18 in New York, and it's believed it'll last five days. When the appeal ends, the league is expected to decide within 25 days if the suspension will be upheld. "It's important that we know," Girardi said, "because if we're not going to have him, we need to fill that void. It does cause us to think a lot about, 'Do we need a third baseman or do we not need a third baseman?'"
