Mets | Bobby Parnell behind schedule

New York Mets RP Bobby Parnell (neck) is around two weeks behind his normal schedule, but he still expects to be ready by Opening Day. He's throwing a ball on flat ground at 120 feet without any problems, and he's resumed lifting weight and running. "Everything is feeling great -- no pain with it or anything like that. So my confidence is getting better," he said. Parnell will pitch more in B games early this spring to allow the team to control the settings of games. The Mets are still looking to add a veteran pitcher with late-innings experience as a safety blanket. They watched free-agent RP Joel Hanrahan (Red Sox) throw last week and are interested in free-agent RP Ryan Madson (Angels), too.

Fantasy Tip: Vic Black is the in-house option to take over in the ninth to start the year if Parnell isn't ready.
