The Associated Press reports Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said he is still hoping C Kevin Mawae (elbow) can play in the team's playoff game despite Mawae stating in a radio interview that would be out for the game. "He's day-to-day, and (we're) evaluating him throughout the week," Fisher said. Fisher promised an official injury report Wednesday, Jan. 7.

The North County Times reports San Diego Chargers WR Vincent Jackson's arrest on suspicion of drunken driving is still in process. Jackson submitted to a blood test and the results are pending. The case has not been turned over to prosecutors to file any charges because the police report is not yet complete. Jackson, in a statement, said he does not think any charges will be filed against him. This incident will not affect Jackson's chances of playing against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Chargers said they are monitoring his case.

Mike Triplett, of The Times-Picayune, reports New Orleans Saints RB Reggie Bush (knee) had a more serious knee injury than the team let on. General manager Mickey Loomis said Bush had microfracture surgery on his left knee after he went on season-ending Injured Reserve in December. Loomis said Bush is expected to be ready for the team's June minicamp.

Tony Grossi, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports indications are that a deal between the Cleveland Browns and former New York Jets head coach Eric Mangini for the Browns' head coaching position is imminent. The Browns have had discussions with Mangini beyond their formal interview, according to a source. Those talks have continued with the understanding that owner Randy Lerner would complete his search process before closing a deal. According to the source, the search is on hold at this point, possibly because the Browns have not been able to interview Baltimore Ravens director of player personnel George Kokinis, who is Mangini's close friend, yet since the Ravens are still in the playoffs.
