"It was to the point last year I thought I was done playing football," Taylor said. "I didn't want to play anymore. I was out of it. Thank God for my girlfriend, my family, my pastors and God because I made it through and kept working. I'm really looking forward to this year. I'm going to turn a lot of heads."

St. Louis Rams QB Sam Bradford (knee) will start the offseason conditioning program in a limited fashion while still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last season. Head coach Jeff Fisher added that Bradford is well ahead of schedule and will be throwing once organized team activities commence.

"His on-base percentage has been extremely high, especially against right-handed pitching," manager Rick Renteria said of Valbuena, who has a .420 on-base percentage against right-handed pitchers. "Yesterday, I think he set the tone. He fouled off a lot of pitches and got on base." 2B Emilio Bonifacio and OF Junior Lake have also been used at leadoff.

"My ACL, MCL, UCL, all those LCLs, QCLs, all the CLs are good," Wainwright said, listing actual and fictional ligaments that could have been damaged in the twist. "It's one of those (plays) that looks scarier than it actually was. … I expected it to be more painful than it actually was."

FANTASY TIP: The Cards could choose to push Wainwright back, but if he doesn't have a setback, he shouldn't need to miss a start.
