Mon, 28 Jul 2014 17:24:19 -0700

Oakland Raiders WR James Jones has shown a knack for catching balls in heavy traffic during full team sessions, according to Jerry Mcdonald of The Oakland Tribune.

FANTASY TIP: Jones is expected to be one of the team's starting receivers this year, and if he continues to make plays in traffic, he could carve out a role as a go-to option in the red zone. The question marks surrounding the QB situation in Oakland hurt his value, but he is worth drafting in the later rounds as a bench option at the WR spot.

Broncos | Emmanuel Sanders compares QBs

Mon, 28 Jul 2014 17:11:56 -0700

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders said QB Peyton Manning is a "better leader" than Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger. "This is the first time that I had a quarterback that stays every single day after practice, no matter what his accolades," Sanders said. "From NFL MVP, Super Bowl rings. He keeps guys like me and (Cody) Latimer after practice and we're out there 15, 20 minutes. And he's not one of those guys you gotta go chase down, he's gonna be right at the same spot ready to work, every single day."

FANTASY TIP: Sanders is set to be the No. 3 receiver for the Broncos this season, and the extra work he is putting in with Manning should help him hit the ground running when the season begins. He is worth drafting in the middle rounds as a WR3 in fantasy leagues.

Panthers | No timetable for Kelvin Benjamin

Mon, 28 Jul 2014 16:33:34 -0700

Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) doesn't have a timetable for his return after bruising his left knee, but he is expected to be back in days, not weeks. Head coach Ron Rivera said Benjamin should be back before the end of training camp Aug. 12. So far in camp, Benjamin has looked really good and hasn't dropped a pass during team drills while running with the first-team offense. WR Jason Avant moved up to the first-team offense Monday, July 28, with Benjamin out.

FANTASY TIP: Benjamin's injury isn't serious, but he could miss some valuable time with the starters in camp, especially since he's a rookie. Don't expect too much of Benjamin in his first year in an offense that doesn't have many other legitimate receiving threats.

He has hit .296 with five home runs and 17 RBIs in 25 career games in the No. 2 spot, and manager Bryan Price is hoping the move will spark Bruce offensively. Bruce is hitting just .218 with 10 home runs and 42 RBIs in 86 games this year, and he's hitting .107 since the All-Star break.

FANTASY TIP: Bruce's fantasy owners sincerely hope this move up the order works, as well. He's killing your batting average, and his power numbers have been down, as well. If you can, it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep Bruce benched until we see some signs of life.
