New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas is eligible for a contract extension and could be in line for money in the 'Odell Beckham neighborhood,' according to MMQB's Albert Breer. Thomas is set to earn $1.148 million in 2019 before becoming a free agent in 2020.

Huddle Up: This appears to be purely speculation by Breer at this point, but given what Thomas has done it's not an unreasonable idea. Breer also points out that the Saints have been hesitant to pay skill players big-time money. It's unlikely to matter much for 2019, but it's at least a piece of info to file away for those in keeper leagues.

  • Posted: 1/20/2019 4:53pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas registered just four receptions for 36 yards on seven receptions in the NFC Championship Game loss against the Los Angeles Rams.

Huddle Up: Thomas tore up the Rams in the regular season matchup, but the Rams did a good job of taking him out of the game and forcing others to beat them. He'll be back and better than ever in 2019, and proved you 'Can't cover Mike' more often than not. Thomas is a bona fide WR1 in all fantasy formats heading into next season.

  • Posted: 1/20/2019 9:27am ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas caught 86 percent of his targets this season. That was the highest single-season percentage in NFL history from one player to another (minimum: 100 completions).

Huddle Up: Thomas "only" caught 75 percent of his targets (12 of 16) in last Sunday's divisional-round win over the Eagles, but they went for 171 yards and a TD in the 20-14 win. In the Week 9 meeting with the Los Angeles Rams, Thomas reeled in 12-of-15 targets for a career-high 211 yards and a TD, and even though Rams CB Aqib Talib will play in this meeting, still expect Thomas to get his fair share of receptions as usual.

  • Posted: 1/15/2019 2:13pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas is just the fourth player since 1970 to achieve multiple playoff games with at least 130 receiving yards.

Huddle Up: Thomas led his position in catches in the regular season (125) and has kept it going in the playoffs. Drew Brees may not play much longer, but Thomas will be a WR1 candidate no matter who his quarterback is.

  • Posted: 1/13/2019 5:05pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas caught 12 of his 16 targets for 171 yards and a touchdown in a 20-14 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round Sunday, Jan. 13.

Huddle Up: The Saints fell behind early, and Brees quickly turned to his favorite target early and often. With a potentially high-scoring matchup on tap with the Rams in the conference title game next weekend, Thomas could be a busy man once again. Don't hesitate to use him in all playoff contests.

  • Posted: 12/30/2018 4:05pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas posted a team-high five receptions for 29 yards on seven targets in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers.

Huddle Up: Thomas probably played a little more than Saints fans would like, risking injury in a meaningless game. He'll be one of the top fantasy targets for those playing in postseason leagues.

  • Posted: 12/24/2018 12:08pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas needs 24 receiving yards in Week 17 to surpass former WR Joe Horn for the franchise's single-season record of 1,399 yards. Horn set the mark in 2004.

Huddle Up: Thomas has been consistently productive this year, balling out for 120 catches for 1,376 yards and nine touchdowns through 15 games. He has caught an absurd 86% of his 140 targets - a testament to his hands and Drew Brees' accuracy. Select him in the second round of 2019 fantasy drafts.

  • Posted: 12/23/2018 8:06pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas posted 11 catches for a team-high 109 yards and a touchdown on 13 targets in Week 16 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Huddle Up: Thomas had his first 100-yard game since Nov. 4 in that shootout against the Rams, and he visited the end zone for the first time in five games. His fantasy owners certainly are thankful, since most championships were decided this week. In Week 17 he is likely to be limited or out since the Saints wrapped up the No. 1 seed in the NFC on Sunday.

  • Posted: 12/17/2018 8:25pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas registered seven receptions for 49 yards on nine targets in Week 15 against the Carolina Panthers on Monday, Dec. 17.

Huddle Up: Thomas led the team in receiving, but that's not saying much. Everyone in the pass game wearing black and gold struggled mightily. Still, he remains a legit WR1 heading into Week 16 at home under the roof against the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers.

  • Posted: 12/9/2018 4:41pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas registered 11 receptions for 98 yards on 13 targets in Week 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Huddle Up: Thomas just missed out on his fourth 100-yard game, and he has tied a season high with three straight games without a touchdown. He'll try and re-discover the end zone in Week 15 against the Carolina Panthers on Monday night.

  • Posted: 12/7/2018 2:26pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 7, and is not on the injury report for Week 14.

Huddle Up: Thomas should have a favorable matchup this week against a wounded Tampa Bay Buccaneers secondary and can be a No. 1 fantasy receiver in all fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 12/6/2018 2:03pm ET

Updating a previous report, New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 6.

Huddle Up: Thomas should receive his normal workload this week and will look to bounce back after two disappointing games. He will have a favorable matchup this week and will be a No. 1 receiver in all leagues.

  • Posted: 12/6/2018 12:19pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (ankle) was participating during the media access portion of practice Thursday, Dec. 6.

Huddle Up: Thomas appears to be on track for the Week 14 game and may have been receiving a day off Wednesday, Dec. 5. Thomas should be a No. 1 receiver in all leagues if he plays.

  • Posted: 12/5/2018 1:58pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 5.

Huddle Up: It's much too early to hit the panic button on Thomas just yet. If he misses another practice or two then there will be more cause for concern. In the meantime he has the potential to be the top fantasy wide receiver this week against a porous Tampa Bay Buccaneers pass defense.

  • Posted: 11/29/2018 8:15pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas caught five of his eight targets for 40 yards in a 13-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 13.

Huddle Up: The entire New Orleans Saints offense was out of rhythm in this one, and it led to the second straight quiet outing for Thomas. Fortunately, he should be able to return to form in Week 14 against a horrendous Tampa Bay secondary that he torched for 16 catches and 180 yards earlier this year.

  • Posted: 11/29/2018 7:03am ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas isn't expected to be shadowed by Dallas Cowboys CB Byron Jones, who has held opposing quarterbacks to a 67.4 passer rating when throwing at him.

Huddle Up: Thomas was quiet last week, and the matchup isn't stellar for him this week. However, he has emerged as one of the top-flight receivers in fantasy as a WR1.

  • Posted: 11/22/2018 8:17pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas caught four of his six targets for 38 yards in a 31-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12.

Huddle Up: Drew Brees spread the ball around in this one, connecting with eight different players. You will run into these games occasionally when Brees is at the helm, but Thomas will deliver for fantasy owners more often than not.

  • Posted: 11/18/2018 7:38pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas registered four receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown in Week 11 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Huddle Up: Thomas was actually overshadowed by Tre'Quan Smith in this one, but Thomas still had a pretty good day that his fantasy owners can't complain about. He'll try to stay hot on Thanksgiving night against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12.

  • Posted: 11/11/2018 1:18pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas registered game highs with eight catches, 70 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 10 win against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Huddle Up: Thomas had his second multi-score performance of the season. He has 20 grabs for 281 yards and three touchdowns on 23 targets over the past two games. No Dez Bryant, no problem as long as this guy is healthy in NOLA.

  • Posted: 11/6/2018 10:36am ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas has been targeted by QB Drew Brees on 29.6 percent of his passing attempts this season entering Week 10, the highest target percentage any receiver Brees has thrown to since arriving in New Orleans in 2006. Thomas has caught 88.6 percent of his targets, ranking first among receivers with at least 15 targets this season.

Huddle Up: Thomas had been relatively quiet with only one TD and 81 receiving yards or less in his previous four games, but exploded for a season-high 211 yards and a TD on 12 receptions in Sunday's shootout win over the Rams. He's cemented himself as an elite WR1.

  • Posted: 11/4/2018 7:11pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas roasted the Los Angeles Rams for 12 catches, a career-high 211 yards and a touchdown on 15 targets in Week 9. After his fourth-quarter score he was flagged for 15 yards with a flip-phone celebration with a prop hidden under the goal post, which was an ode to former WR Joe Horn.

Huddle Up: Everyone was talking about Thomas and his celebration, which will draw a fine of at least $13,369 for the cell phone prop. He won't face a suspension, and will be just fine for Week 10 against the Cincinnati Bengals in another potential shootout.

  • Posted: 11/1/2018 4:39pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (shoulder) was upgraded at practice Thursday, Nov. 1, getting in a full session.

Huddle Up: This should ensure owners of the workhorse WR1 that there's nothing to be worried about. This Sunday's meeting with the Rams figures to yield plenty of points at the Superdome, which hopefully allows Thomas to return to the endzone. He's scored just one touchdown in his last five games.

  • Posted: 10/31/2018 4:30pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (shoulder) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Huddle Up: More likely than not, the Saints are just electing to limit Thomas' reps and the injury shouldn't affect his status for Week 9. The workhorse WR1 could be primed for a big game opposite the undefeated Rams.

  • Posted: 10/28/2018 8:24pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas caught five passes on six targets for 81 yards in a 30-20 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Huddle Up: Thomas remains the top target for the Saints, but with the running game becoming more of a factor since Mark Ingram returned, he looks like more of a WR2 than the dominant WR1 he was over the first few games.

  • Posted: 10/21/2018 8:14pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas caught seven of his nine targets for 69 yards and a touchdown, his first since Week 2, in a 24-23 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7.

Huddle Up: Thomas has cooled a bit after a hot start, but he always packs WR1 upside as the go-to target for Drew Brees.

  • Posted: 10/8/2018 8:36pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas posted four receptions for 74 yards on five targets in Week 5 against the Washington Redskins on Monday, Oct. 8.

Huddle Up: Thomas was overshadowed by Tre'Quan Smith (3-111-2) in this one, and Cameron Meredith was also busier (5-71-0) with Ted Ginn sidelined. As such, Thomas and his fantasy owners might be disappointed that he didn't have a bigger night in a game which saw the Saints go for 43 points. Thomas will look for bigger numbers in Baltimore in Week 7.

  • Posted: 10/6/2018 10:33pm ET

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara and WR Michael Thomas are tied for the league lead with 10 receptions inside the 20 - three more than any other player.

Huddle Up: Only 21 players across the league had 10 or more catches inside the red zone last year, so the fact teammates are at that mark after four games speaks to how proficient and pass-heavy the Saints have been so far. It's also a big reason why both players rank the top their respective positions in PPR leagues. While Mark Ingram's return figures to curb how active they have been near the end zone up to this point, both players could easily hold their current spots atop the fantasy leaderboard all season long.

  • Posted: 9/30/2018 8:43pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas caught all four of his targets for 47 yards in a 33-18 win over the New York Giants in Week 4.

Huddle Up: Thomas and the entire passing attack had an off day, but look for him to return to his WR1 ways in a home contest against the Washington Redskins in Week 5.

  • Posted: 9/28/2018 8:30pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas has caught 38 of his 40 targets this year, and his 95 percent catch rate is the highest mark of any player with at least 38 catches since the NFL began tracking targets in 1992.

Huddle Up: Thomas is currently on pace for more than 200 receptions, and while this level of production is unsustainable, he has entrenched himself as a must-start WR1 heading into a Week 4 matchup with the New York Giants.

  • Posted: 9/23/2018 4:16pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas managed 10 receptions for 129 yards on 10 targets in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons.

Huddle Up: Thomas has been a catch machine, posting at least 10 grabs in each of his three games to date while racking up 40 targets with 398 yards and three scores. The best news of all is that Week 3 was his first game of the season without losing a fumble. He'll play his first game of 2018 outdoors when the Saints travel to meet the Giants in Week 4.

  • Posted: 9/16/2018 1:54pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas caught 12 passes for 89 yards and two touchdowns against the Cleveland Browns in Week 2.

Huddle Up: Thomas has recorded 28 catches in the first two weeks and should continue to receive plenty of targets moving forward. He should be a No. 1 wide receiver in all leagues next week against the Atlanta Falcons.

  • Posted: 9/14/2018 12:53pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (illness) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 14, and is not on the injury report for Week 2.

Huddle Up: Thomas continues to be one of the most valuable fantasy receivers in the NFL and will be a weekly No. 1 receiver in all leagues as long as he is healthy.

  • Posted: 9/13/2018 3:11pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (illness) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

Huddle Up: Thomas will be fine for Week 2 and will continue to be a focal point in the team's passing game. He should be a No. 1 wide receiver in all fantasy leagues this week.

  • Posted: 9/12/2018 3:13pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (illness) did not practice on Wednesday, Sept. 12 due to an illness.

Huddle Up: Thomas is a little green in the gills, but he has a few days to get well before Sunday's battle with the Cleveland Browns. He opened with a gem in the Week 1 shootout with the Bucs, and he remains an obvious WR1 in all fantasy formats against the 0-0-1 Browns.

  • Posted: 9/9/2018 1:54pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas caught 16 passes for 180 yards and one touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1.

Huddle Up: The Saints did a lot of passing during the game, so Thomas was called upon often during the game. He is one of Drew Brees' favorite targets and should continue to be a No. 1 receiver in all fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 6/22/2018 8:19pm ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas said he changed his diet and added muscle this offseason without changing his playing weight.

Huddle Up: Thomas is already entrenched as a WR1, and it doesn't sound like his letting success go to his head. He's a legitimate top-five fantasy option at his position.

  • Posted: 6/12/2018 11:18am ET

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas (undisclosed) was excused from the first day of minicamp Tuesday, June 12, according to head coach Sean Payton.

Huddle Up: It remains to be seen what the reason was for Thomas not attending, but it doesn't seem to be something to be too concerned about. Thomas remains a top-five wide receiver candidate.
