New Orleans Saints TE Jared Cook has impressed his new teammates so far in OTAs, with QB Drew Brees near the top of the list. 'I'd read a lot of good things about him before he got here, but he's certainly impressed us these first couple of days,' Brees said Thursday, May 23. 'He's got a great feel for the game, and I think he's going to fit very well in our offense. He's got great length, so he's got a big catch radius. You feel confident with those 50-50 balls. You feel like there's a lot of places where you can throw if where he can get it and the other guy can't. Anytime you have a target like that, you feel like that's a good matchup.'

Huddle Up: The big tight-end receiving numbers have been missing in recent seasons for the Saints, and now enter Cook, who finished fifth among fantasy tight ends last season with the Raiders, catching 68-of-101 targets for 896 yards and six TDs. Slot him on your draft board as a mid-level TE1.

New Orleans Saints TE Jared Cook will be given the chance to show 'everything he can do' for the offense, according to tight ends coach Dan Campbell. 'The guy is over 30 and he still runs like the wind. He can absolutely smoke,' Campbell said. 'He's got 35-inch arms, he is long, and he is fast.'

Huddle Up: Cook set career highs in receptions, targets, yards and touchdowns last year in Oakland, and while Drew Brees likes to spread the ball around, he also knows how to utilize a dynamic tight end. Look for Cook to remain a solid TE1 in 2019.

  • Posted: 3/26/2019 9:35am ET

New Orleans Saints TE Jared Cook will sign a 2-year, $15.5 million contract with the team Tuesday, March 25. Cook will receive a guaranteed $8 million in his first year of the deal.

Huddle Up: Cook posted career receiving highs across the board last season with the Raiders, catching 68-of-101 targets for 896 yards and six TDs to finish fifth among fantasy tight ends. Even though the Saints have a few more passing-game weapons than last season's Raiders, Cook's fantasy ceiling is just as high as the Saints have been searching for a reliable, full-time tight end since Jimmy Graham's departure after the 2014 season.

  • Posted: 3/21/2019 7:45am ET

Free-agent TE Jared Cook (Raiders) is expected to sign with the New Orleans Saints Thursday, March 21.

Huddle Up: Cook had a big year last year, and he could be in line for a bigger one in the Saints' offense. He'll be a low-end TE1 in fantasy with the Saints.

  • Posted: 3/20/2019 4:56pm ET

Free-agent TE Jared Cook (Raiders) is close to an agreement with the New Orleans Saints, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Cook is coming off the best season of his career but would have a chance to improve on those stats with the Saints. He likely would have a solid role in the Saints passing game and likely would be a No. 1 tight end in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 3/13/2019 4:39pm ET

Free-agent TE Jared Cook (Raiders) is scheduled to meet with the New Orleans Saints Thursday, March 14, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Cook is coming off a career year and is the top tight end available in free-agency. He likely would have a solid role in the passing game if he joins the Saints and would be a No. 1 fantasy tight end in all leagues.

  • Posted: 2/27/2019 4:34pm ET

Oakland Raiders impending free-agent TE Jared Cook is a player that the Raiders would like to re-sign, but the team may wait to see what he is being offered in free agency before making a final decision on Cook, according to general manager Mike Mayock.

Huddle Up: Cook is coming off the best season of his career and should receive interest from multiple teams in free agency. He probably should be considered a No. 1 tight end in most fantasy leagues next season no matter where he signs.

  • Posted: 1/27/2019 2:57pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook caught three passes for 71 yards against the NFC in the 2019 Pro Bowl.

Huddle Up: Cook posted career highs in receptions (68), yards (896) and touchdowns (six) this season. He likely will receive plenty of interest if he hits the free-agent market and could be a low-end No. 1 tight end in fantasy leagues next season.

  • Posted: 1/22/2019 11:11am ET

Oakland Raiders impending free-agent TE Jared Cook will be re-signed if head coach Jon Gruden has his way, but Gruden admitted that Cook will be a popular name on the free-agent market.

Huddle Up: Cook was one of the few bright spots for the Raiders this season, and maybe the lone bright spot. He's a top-five fantasy tight end candidate now after finishing 2018 as the TE5.

  • Posted: 12/28/2018 3:08pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook (ribs) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 28, but is not on the injury report for Week 17.

Huddle Up: Cook should be able to play this week as long as he can deal with the pain from his injured ribs. He has been on a cold streak over the last few weeks but can still be a low-end No. 1 tight end in leagues.

  • Posted: 12/27/2018 4:12pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook (ribs) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 27.

Huddle Up: Cook appears to have a decent chance to play in Week 17, but owners will know more about his status in the next day or two. He can be considered a low-end No. 1 tight end if he is active this week.

  • Posted: 12/26/2018 4:07pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook (ribs) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Huddle Up: Owners should know more about Cook's status for the Week 17 game later in the week. He is coming off two disappointing games but has been one of the better tight ends in the NFL this season. He can be a starting option in all leagues if he is active.

  • Posted: 12/25/2018 3:17am ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook was kept in check in Week 16 Monday, Dec. 24, against the Denver Broncos, securing only two of three targets for 20 yards.

Huddle Up: Cook let down his fantasy owners big time in this one, though to be fair, the 10-year veteran has basically been a godsend for those trying to shore up the tight end position on their roster. In fact, he's already logged career bests in touchdowns, receptions and yards. Despite the off night, he'll keep his TE1 status entering the season finale.

  • Posted: 12/16/2018 4:27pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook managed just two grabs for 23 yards on five targets in Week 15 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Huddle Up: Cook entered on a heater with back-to-back 100-yard games, and he had three scores in the previous four games. Fantasy owners were certainly disappointed in this one. He'll look to rebound in Week 16 against the Denver Broncos on Monday night.

  • Posted: 12/12/2018 8:01pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook hopefully will be a high priority for the Raiders to re-sign this offseason, according to head coach Jon Gruden.

Huddle Up: Cook is having the best season of his career and has posted back-to-back 100-yard games. He should be a weekly starting option for the rest of this season and likely will be a No. 1 tight end in drafts next season.

  • Posted: 12/9/2018 8:37pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook finished with seven receptions on 10 targets for 116 yards in a 24-21 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 14.

Huddle Up: After a stretch of quiet games, Cook has delivered back-to-back 100-yard efforts. He will be a solid TE1 option heading into a Week 15 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals.

  • Posted: 12/2/2018 8:56pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook caught seven of his eight targets for 100 yards and a touchdown in a 40-33 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 13.

Huddle Up: Cook has scored in three straight games, and he has three 100-yard efforts. He has become one of the steadier fantasy options at the position, and Cook has become a borderline top-five TE1.

  • Posted: 11/25/2018 1:41pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook caught two passes for 32 yards and one touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 12.

Huddle Up: Cook has reached the end zone in back-to-back games and has been targeted 11 times over the last three games. He has a chance to be a low-end No. 1 tight end next week against the Kansas City Chiefs.

  • Posted: 11/18/2018 6:47pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook caught three of his six targets for 31 yards and a touchdown in a 23-21 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 11.

Huddle Up: While Cook has cooled off following an incredible start, he is still doing enough to be considered a weekly TE1 option.

  • Posted: 11/11/2018 7:47pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook finished with four grabs for 52 yards on nine targets in the Week 10 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Huddle Up: Cook has two or more grabs in each of his nine outings this season, but his yardage totals have really yo-yoed this season. Sometimes he has TE1 ability, other times he barely registers as a TE2. The Raiders will face the Cardinals in Week 11, a team which shut down Kansas City's Travis Kelce pretty well on Sunday.

  • Posted: 11/1/2018 8:27pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook caught both of his targets for 20 yards in a 34-3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 9.

Huddle Up: Cook has cooled off after a hot start, and he has been held to 20 yards or less in three of his last four games. If you have been using Cook, you may be better of cutting him loose and trying some streaming options to fill your tight end spot.

  • Posted: 10/28/2018 6:59pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook caught four passes on five targets for 74 yards and a touchdown in a 42-28 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8 after being held to 30 yards in his previous two games combined.

Huddle Up: Despite a couple of off weeks, Cook has a steady role in the Oakland passing attack, which is more than a lot of tight ends on other teams can say.

  • Posted: 10/14/2018 5:47pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook posted two receptions for just 10 yards on two targets in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks in London.

Huddle Up: Cook has exploded for some big fantasy lines this season, but he has also had a couple of duds. If you normally depend upon him you'll need to make other plans in Week 7 with his team on a bye.

  • Posted: 10/7/2018 8:16pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook caught four of his six targets for 20 yards in a 26-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5.

Huddle Up: It was Cook's lowest output of the year, but he continues to see a steady amount of targets. He's locked in as a TE1 heading into a Week 6 matchup with the Seahawks.

  • Posted: 10/6/2018 10:20pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook has seven targets inside the 10 through four games, tied with the Los Angeles Chargers' Melvin Gordon for the most such looks in the league.

Huddle Up: For some perspective, Cook was targeted only nine times inside the red zone all of last season. For more perspective, Jimmy Graham saw a league-high 16 targets inside the 10 in 2017. Cook scored his first two touchdowns of the season in Week 4, and this kind of usage in the scoring area bodes well for him moving forward. Owners obviously should not hesitate to start the No. 1 PPR tight end in fantasy, especially considering the Chargers surrendered 125 yards and a touchdown to George Kittle in Week 4.

  • Posted: 9/30/2018 8:38pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook finished with eight receptions for 110 yards and two scores on a game-high 13 targets in Week 4 against the Cleveland Browns.

Huddle Up: The scores were the first of the year for Cook, and it was his second 100-yard game in four outings this season. He has managed at least four receptions in all four outings, re-emerging as a solid TE1 in most fantasy formats. The Raiders travel to meet the Chargers in Week 5.

  • Posted: 9/23/2018 5:50pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook posted five receptions for just 31 yards on six targets in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins.

Huddle Up: Cook took a bit of a step back in Week 3 after his giant game in Week 1. He had nine grabs for 180 yards on 12 targets in the opener, but just nine catches for 80 yards on 10 targets over the past two outings. He still remains a decent low-end TE1 going forward.

  • Posted: 9/16/2018 11:39pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook caught four passes for 49 yards, both good for second-most on the team, during the club's Week 2 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Huddle Up: You knew Cook wasn't going to match his nine-catch, 180-yard opener, but his output was at least respectable. While nine years in the NFL suggest Cook isn't a starting fantasy TE, he's a borderline option as long as he keeps producing.

  • Posted: 9/10/2018 10:58pm ET

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook hauled in nine receptions for 180 yards on 12 targets in the Week 1 game against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday, Sept. 10.

Huddle Up: Cook is going to be a highly coveted player off the waiver wire if he is still available in fantasy leagues. Head coach Jon Gruden had David Carr find the tight end early and often and Cook was on a mission, bulling people over and running hard. He'll look to keep it going in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos.
