Free-agent RB Alfred Blue (Texans) signed a one-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars Monday, April 1, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Huddle Up: Blue was a solid contributor for the Houston Texans behind Lamar Miller. He'll make for a high-end handcuff behind Leonard Fournette in Jacksonville.

  • Posted: 12/23/2018 1:30pm ET

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue ran four times for 14 yards in Week 16 against the Philadelphia Eagles and he added four grabs for 26 yards on five targets.

Huddle Up: Blue was the best of the lot in the backfield, as D'Onta Foreman had nine total touches but just minus-1 rushing yards, although he did score on a catch. Neither is particularly attractive from a fantasy perspective in Week 17 against Jacksonville if Lamar Miller is forced to miss time again.

  • Posted: 12/23/2018 8:57am ET

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue will be the starting running back for the Texans in their Week 16 game.

Huddle Up: Blue likely will receive most of the work at running back but probably will lose some snaps to D'Onta Foreman. Blue can be considered at least a flex option in leagues and could be a low-end No. 2 running back in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 12/9/2018 6:19pm ET

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue ran six times for 21 yards and a touchdown in the Week 14 game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Huddle Up: Blue made the most of his limited touches, but he would need an injury to Lamar Miller before he has fantasy appeal outside of the very deepest of leagues. The Texans travel to meet the Jets next Saturday.

  • Posted: 12/2/2018 2:05pm ET

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue rushed for 54 yards on 13 carries against the Cleveland Browns in Week 13.

Huddle Up: Blue has received at least 10 carries in four of the last five games and has been a fine No. 2 running back behind Lamar Miller. Blue probably can be avoided in most fantasy leagues unless Miller suffers an injury.

  • Posted: 10/25/2018 9:07pm ET

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue carried the ball 15 times for 42 yards against the Miami Dolphins on Thursday, Oct. 25.

Huddle Up: No matter how many touches he gets, Blue can't seem to make much headway -- he's averaged fewer than 4.0 yards per carry in each of the team's last six games. Once D'Onta Foreman returns it might be time to cut Blue loose.

  • Posted: 10/14/2018 7:25pm ET

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue rushed seven times for 26 yards in Week 6 against the Buffalo Bills and he added two receptions for 17 yards on three targets.

Huddle Up: Blue was back to a reserve role after being the bellcow in Week 5 with Lamar Miller (chest) on the sidelines. As such, he is back to RB4 status heading into Week 7.

  • Posted: 10/7/2018 11:15pm ET

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue carried 20 times for 46 yards and caught eight passes for 73 yards against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5.

Huddle Up: With Lamar Miller relegated to standing next to Bill O'Brien, Blue served as the team's primary back. It was tough sledding in the run game, but he picked up the slack as a receiver to finish with 119 total yards. Obviously Blue's value is tied to Miller's status. If Miller is ready to play next week, Blue holds no appeal. If not, Blue could be a capable fill-in.

  • Posted: 10/5/2018 1:34pm ET

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue might draw the start against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5 with RB Lamar Miller (chest) likely to be a game-time decision.

Huddle Up: If Blue starts he might be a decent low-end RB3 or flex fantasy option, and is certainly worth a look in DFS. The Cowboys rank 12th in rushing defense, allowing 97.8 yards per game. They have also allowed four rushing scores through four games.

  • Posted: 9/30/2018 5:23pm ET

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue carried 13 times for just 31 yards in Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts and he did not have a catch on three targets.

Huddle Up: Blue cut into the work of Lamar Miller, but he was not able to make any progress wrestling the job from the starter since he averaged a mere 2.4 yards to Miller's 3.5 yards per carry. Neither is particularly attractive from a fantasy perspective heading into Week 5 against the Cowboys.

  • Posted: 9/16/2018 6:41pm ET

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue rushed seven times for 36 yards in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans.

Huddle Up: Blue averaged 5.1 yards per attempt to 4.9 yards per rush for starter Lamar Miller, so he did fine when called up. He isn't going to chip into Miller's playing time anytime soon, so he remains a fringe fantasy option in deeper leagues at the moment. The Texans host the Giants in Week 3.

  • Posted: 9/9/2018 6:08pm ET

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue rushed five times for 36 yards and a touchdown in the Week 1 game against the New England Patriots.

Huddle Up: Blue spelled Lamar Miller, but he isn't expected to push the starter for a bigger role. This is Miller's show, and he is the Houston fantasy back you want unless he goes down with an injury. Blue is only worth a roster spot in the very deepest of fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 8/3/2018 6:39pm ET

Houston Texans RB Alfred Blue is listed as the No.2 running back on the first training camp depth chart.

Huddle Up: The listing probably has more to do with the fact that D'Onta Foreman is coming off an Achilles' injury than it does Blue's ability. Foreman should still be considered the preferred handcuff to Lamar Miller.
