Denver Broncos TEs Jeff Heuerman and Noah Fant will compete for the starting tight end job during training camp, but Heuerman will enter camp as the clear favorite for the job, in the opinion of 9News.com's Mike Klis.

Huddle Up: Fantasy players should monitor the situation to see who will start at tight end. Fant likely has more fantasy value at this point and probably can be stashed on a bench until he starts. Heuerman could be a No. 2 tight end in deeper leagues.

Denver Broncos TE Jeff Heuerman agreed on a two-year deal Friday, March 15, to remain with the team. The deal is worth a maximum of $9 million and includes $2 million in guarantees for 2019.

Huddle Up: Heuerman caught 31-of-48 targets for 281 yards and two TDs last season -- all career highs -- but his campaign ended after 11 games due to broken ribs and bruised lung. If Heuerman can stay healthy (he's played in 37 out of a possible 48 games during three seasons in Denver), he could be a high-end TE2 sleeper given new quarterback Joe Flacco's past success connecting with tight ends.

Denver Broncos TE Jeff Heuerman (ribs, lung) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Nov. 27.

Huddle Up: The Broncos' tight end room is in shambles. If you're desperate then the best bet to take over the starting position is Matt LaCosse, who caught three passes for 34 yards and found the end zone last week.

Denver Broncos TE Jeff Heuerman (ribs, lung) sustained broken ribs and a bruised lung in Week 12 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers and will miss the remainder of the season.

Huddle Up: Heuerman had started to come on in recent weeks as a streaming option in fantasy, but this injury obviously puts an end to that. The Ohio State product has struggled to stay healthy since entering the league in 2015 and is not a must-hold in dynasty leagues. Matt LaCosse will most likely take over his role in the offense and can be considered a low-end streamer.

Denver Broncos TE Jeff Heuerman caught 10 of his 11 targets for 83 yards and a touchdown in a 19-17 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 9.

Huddle Up: Heuerman entered the game with just 15 catches, so it remains to be seen if he is going to play a larger role going forward. Unless you are desperate for tight end help, you can take a wait-and-see approach with him.

Denver Broncos TE Jeff Heuerman posted four receptions for 57 yards on seven targets in the Week 4 game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday, Oct. 1.

Huddle Up: Heuerman did a good job getting free late on a 36-yard reception. The Broncos need someone to step up for the injured Jake Butt, and the former Ohio State standout did a good job in this one. Still, he is nothing more than a low-end TE2 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 5 against the Jets.
