Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona said 1B Nick Swisher will be held out of the first four or five spring games to give him some extra rest. Swisher thinks he went too hard too early in camp last year and wound up with a strained left shoulder that bothered him during the season.

Cleveland Indians 1B Nick Swisher (shoulder) continues to experience pain in his left shoulder, and he might land on the 15-day disabled list as a result. He aggravated the injury in the fifth inning Saturday, June 15. "I'm grinding guys," Swisher said Sunday, June 16. "I want to be in there every day regardless of what I got going on. Obviously, it's starting to physically slow a little bit."
Fantasy Tip: Swisher missed time earlier in the season due to a sore shoulder, and he has managed just six hits in his past 55 at-bats, likely the result of not being 100 percent. Fantasy owners will want to keep him reserved in the upcoming week just to be on the safe side.
